HP Pavilion HPE H8-1234: Hp screen after the passage of graphics cards

Hello

I ordered a new graphics card and the power supply about two weeks ago. When I put the new power supply in the computer, it worked fine, power supply is Corsair 600 watts. This is not the first time that I changed my graphics card and the one I have now is a PNY GeForce GT 610. I'm trying to get is a MSI GeForce GTX 950. I took it to a buddy of mine to see if the problem was with the card and it worked fine on his custom build, but when I try to put in mine all the getting is the HP logo on a blue screen reading "Push ESC for boot menu". When I Press esc, nothing happens. There are two single beeps, one about 30 seconds after you turn on the computer and another minute later, followed by the screen goes black with a underscore on it.

Any help would be wonderful that I have run out of ideas as to what could be the problem. Thank you for your time.

VGcrazee, welcome to the forum.

I think that your new video card is not compatible with the motherboard BIOS.  960 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard rather than a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  I suggest that you check the BIOS version and contact Technical Support PNY for help.  They are the experts on their products.  It is very difficult to know which video cards more recent will work with older computers.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • Black screen after the addition of graphics card to H530

I am installing an EVGA Geoforce GTX 560 Ti in a H530. I have updated to 600w POWER supply and tried to set the parameters of the BIOS to the appropriate values. The BIOS settings are: display = AUTO, Secure Boot = Disabled, CSM = on, the Boot Mode = Auto (also tried Legacy), Boot Priority = first Legacy, Video Display = Auto (also tried PEG). Whenever I install the card and start, the screen appears black. Once I remove the card, the display returns normally. On board graphics uses VGA, GTX uses DVI. Any ideas?

OK, it's pretty embarrassing that I almost didn't write back. The monitor I was using has entered both VGA and DVI. Apparently, it is default to VGA and I found a source selector to choose digital & now everything is cool.
Why I decided to write back, also the closure of this point, is to note that higher speed graphics cards can be supported by the H530. I installed an EVGA GTX560 Ti, which is not the fastest of the world map, but it looks like that he compared with the list of maps in the maintenance manual which IMO aren't enough of an improvement to bother with. Anyway, maybe the Bios settings, I've used will help someone else.

  • Mode two-channel for HP - Pavilion HPE - h8-1234

    Hello world.

(Online) has just bought a HP - Pavilion HPE - h8-1234 that comes with 10G of RAM.

A saleswoman said it has 4 DIMM slots and one is open, so I think it has 2 x 4 and 1 x 2 G DIMMS.

I would add 6-8 Gig RAM more, but want to ensure that it is running in Dual channel mode after I do the upgrade.

    Can I add a 8 G DIMMS in the open location, or I have to install 2 x 4 G DIMM and remove G 1 x 2 DIMM?

    Or maybe I should consider adding modules DIMM 2 x 8 G and remove the G 1 x 2 DIMM.

I do a lot of Photoshop work, and my old computer would go with 4 GB of RAM.

    Thank you

Please you start reading this very useful article titled 'everything you need to know about double and Triple, Quad Channel Memory Architecture"the link provided on page 5 of the article... This is where the nuts and bolts to install properly the memory is explained. Page 6 is a continuation of the two-channel section.  Basically, he says, on most of the Intel and the latest AMD motherboards... Place the matching pairs of memory in dealing with the same color (XMM1 and XMM3, XMM2 and XMM4 on these systems). On older AMD motherboards... Place the matching pairs of memory in dealing with the same color (XMM1 and XMM2 and XMM3 XMM4 on these systems). There are some rare exceptions to this rule.

So, on your system, it should be a matching pair in 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 another pair... If you buy a pair of DIMMs to 4 GB, install them in 1/3 or 2/4 and place the pair of original 4 GB DIMMs in the remaining slots (make sure that the original DIMMS are a pair).  If you buy a pair of DIMMs of 8 GB, install them in 1/3 and place the pair of original 4 GB DIMMs in the remaining slots (make sure that the original DIMMS are a pair).

Note: If the pair 4 GB of origin is not a game, the system will work in single channel mode. If you mix an original 4 GB and a new 4 GB, the system will run in single channel mode.

I would like to replace the default Radeon HD 7450, which was built in desktop and replace it with a Nvidia GeForce GTS 450, my question is, is it compatible with my motherboard? Everything in the desktop computer is the same, except that I replaced the power supply with a Corsair CX600. As is all other compatible with the motherboard Angelica 2 graphics cards? Thank you!

    Shadgam, welcome to the forum.

New after the 640 GT video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of the standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.

I see no reason why the GTS 450 (see card) is not working on your computer.  Your motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 (Gen.2) slot.  You can always call the manufacturer's Technical Support to make sure the card you have chosen will work.

    Hello

A video card with certain powers, such as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 it in the office, I use, requires a minimum of 450 Watts and two PCIe 6-pin power connectors to operate. The specification of the manufacturer of a video card will specify what power is needed and how the PCIe power connectors are needed. I usually install OCZTechnology, Corsair or PC Power & Cooling brands that are well known in the enthusiast PC and professional circles IT. avoid no-name brands to avoid disappointment.

This means that the standard 300 Watt power supply of your PC is not just enough.

The video card that is currently in your office is a low-power video card that requires minimal power to operate, but unfortunately also doesn't have a lot of video processing power.

You can find the video that will show you how do it if you feel comfortable enough to make yourself. You can also pay to have done by a tech in a store, if you think you need.

It is strongly recommended that the PSU have the following specs or better. ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2. These specifications ensure that the power supply will have connectors that requires your PC.

Due to the limited space in the case of an OEM PC like yours, it is also suggested that food being of modular type.

  • Black screen after the windows login

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago. I have read a Microsoft article, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7) and tried all the steps with the graphics card and the regestry, but nothing seems to work.

-Task Manager is able to open when the screen is black (shows explorer.exe running)

-J' have the drivers on the HP support site

-laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 3024ca

You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

I followed the recommendation to disable startup secure in the Bios then move the UEFI Bios to the CSM. But when I go to set up what I see is a black screen with a stable cursor in it. And it doesn t go in the Bios.

    The black screen remains.
I turn off the laptop and once again now, but I still have a black screen with a cursor that is stable and that s it.

It's like that and it doesn t go to windows even go into the Bios, I can t.
    What should I do?

    Help, please...

    Hello

After the passage of the CSM and disabling secure boot UEFI mode, you will not be able to boot from the HARD disk as the installation of Windows 8 requires secure boot and the mode of the UEFI.

Now you can boot from the disc or other media bootable (USB flash key) to install the Windows 7 system.

I guess you've made these changes installed Windows 7. Right?

By the way: what model of laptop you have exactly?

  • Satellite M70 - black screen after the installation of recovery

So far, what I did is put in the Recovery DVD - ROM product. Then when my computer restarts I was invited to restore my computer failing and said. After that he went through this process, that he told me to remove the disc that I did. Now he only get a black screen after the Toshiba screen that gives me options f2 for Setup and f12 for options.

I don't know what to do now to make my laptop works again. Help, please.

    Hi Zach_1,

Have you tried to launch the installation of recovery again? Maybe that something was wrong during the first installation, it might have arrived
Then retry the recovery facility and see what happens.

If it doesn't work you should try a normal Microsoft disk so determine if the problem is related to hardware or recovery disk.
