HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1287c: looking to update the graphics card in my HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1287c

I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card in my HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1287c. I recently installed a Cosair CX600w diet and I'm looking for a list of compatible video cards, I can update.  My first interest is to do video editing, so I need memory and graphics power. I'm looking to spend around $100-200 dollars.

Thank you

Tim

Hello

Install the updates to the BIOS listed under Windows 8 , one at a time from the lowest verision.  However, before that, install the latest diagnoses that are displayed on the same page and run a full game.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • Looking to update the graphics card in my Dell XPS 8900 EVGA GeForce GTX 960.

I have a Dell XPS 8900 Special Edition that I bought a few months ago. I want to upgrade the OEM GeForce 745 of GTX that it came with an EVGA GTX 960.

I have the Dell XPS 8900 (processor i7 - 6700 k), 32 GB of memory, 2 TB HDD + SSD of 32 GB m2, monitor cache Dell UP2516D and Windows 10 Pro. I'll add a second monitor Dell UP2516D soon and later add an SSD and move the OS and applications on.

My needs are not at stake. I mainly business applications (MS-Office, including access and project), finance and investment, and a lot of photo and video editing.  Photo editing software uses the GPU if I update.

EVGA has suggested either of the following, based on what would be good:

    http://www.EVGA.com/products/product.aspx?PN=04G-P4-1961-KR

    http://www.EVGA.com/products/product.aspx?PN=04G-P4-3963-KR

    These cards are almost identical except;

    #1 is long of 6.8 ", has 1 BIOS, 1 fan and use 128 watts for $160

#2 is 10.1 "long, has 2 BIOS, 2 fans and consume 160 watts for $170

I thought I would replace the graphics card myself, but once I opened the folder, I was wondering if the two cards will even fit.  I saw that other people have swapped their graphics card, so it must be possible.

When I look in my case, the existing graphics card is a single location.  These two cards are double slot.  In addition, it seems that there are a few transistors just next to the existing card.  When you install a card double slot, the new map is just overlap the transistors under?

Finally, in view of these two cards and the XPS 8900 case, is it possible to put the card in?  Is it worth the extra $ 10 earn an extra BIOS and fan, to the detriment of one more card of time and 12 watts?

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated, thank you.

Dual cards fit without any problem. Many have improved their 8900 XPS and 8700 with cards that need two slots of width.

I prefer the models dual fan as they run cooler. They have a bigger heat sink and with relatively low heat from GTX 960, some are silent at idle because the fans do not work.

For example, MSI GTX 970 son fan only above a certain temp that only happens every game. Maybe the EVGA card did the same thing. It is nice to have a quiet system at idle.

Regarding the adjustment, the MSI GTX 970 games 4 G card Dimensions are (mm) 140 x 277 x 35. Length and height are tight but it fits without cutting.

In addition, as noted speedstep you run SATA cables under the card. I replaced the SATA cables with longer cables, so they route toward the front of the box, then under the graphics card and upward.

This thread has many cards different people have added. (the link is on page 26) and about the halfway point is my son with the MSI GTX 970 system, which (I think) is slightly larger that the EVGA 960 you listed.  It also shows the case mod to add a front fan.

  • Looking to update the graphics card Inspiron 530 s

Hi, I was looking for to upgrade graphics card my Inspiron 530 of the s to something that would be consistent and give better performance. I use it mainly for games and play games such as minecraft and team fortress 2. Unfortunately, my pace is not very good. Also I said that my case is a slim that I would need a card low profile. Fake card can be found here: http://www.dell.com/us/dfh/p/inspiron-530s/pd any response would be really appreciated, thanks! Also, feel free to ask more questions about the specifications of the computers.

You must use a profile card down so he can adapt.  Also, you are limited by your power 250 watt until you can get.  The best card you will get there and others have used is the HD 6670 HERE. See discussion below on this particular card.  One step down would be the HD 6570.   The HD 6670 and HD 6570 have identical power drinks so there is not a lot of reasons to get the HD 6570 unless you want to save money.   Really useless much but to play the games you mentioned, even a cheap HD 5450 or HD 6450 works very well HERE and be more than enough.  You must use graphics just to edge.

A new 300 watt PSU can be purchased for your system HERE if you are more comfortable with it.

Pros: Requires very little energy to my 250w PSU was enough to make it work.
I play most games with setting max now

Cons: A bit noisy, but it's not so bad.

Other thoughts: I have a Dell inspiron 530 s (slim model) which is an old system with only 250w power supply I was afraid that he might not run but has no problems so far. I recommend this card to people with slim cases with low power.

  • Can I update the graphics card in my iMac end 2012?

I am able to update the graphics card in my iMac end 2012? I know that this is not a gaming computer, but I want to be able to play low end games. Is this possible?

    # You don't have a 'card' in this model. Starting with 2012 models graphics hardware was inseparable and soldered to the logic board. Looks like this:

  • Satellite A100-207: is it possible to update the graphics card for games

    Hello

I am looking to buy the laptop Toshiba A100-207 and it comes with 128 MB shared graphics.

I would like to play games and I was wondering if I could update the graphics (for example, a nvidia card I could buy and put in) or the fixed graphics?

I just want to know if I am able to upgrade?

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion the graphics card or processor is not welded on the new generation of mobile phones. The parts must be simply plugged into the card.
But this does not change the status of the upgrade.
Eventually, you will be able to remove the graphics card but I m sure that you will have problems of compatibility with other hardware.

Fastest graphics card produces more heat and the temperature will automatically increase to a higher level. This would lead to overheating in the question and the laptop would be either closed or not starts.
PC desktop technology is simply different as on laptops. You can also compare different graphics cards. Laptop factory uses only graphics card chips what don t supports a clean cooling module.

It simply says s not possible to update the graphics card.

    Hi, lawless,

Looks like it's not. (HMM) hardware maintenance manual says about p.82 the microprocessor and the GPU is soldered to the system board. It is in the section on replacing the system board.

If you give a code anything you try to doa or who need to, here another user may be able to tell if the chart Nviidia or Intel is capable of this.

    Hello

Usually it of not possible to update the graphics card. You can't compare the laptop and desktop pc technology. The graphics card on the laptop is a small chip that attaches to the motherboard.
Please read some other assignments in the forum on this topic

Is it possible to update the graphics card on the A100-033?
I don't know if the side PCI slot will accept a separate graphics card?

    Hi George

It of certainly not possible to update the graphics card. The technology of the laptop is a little different and you should not compare it with the current desktop PC.
The GPU is fixed and not removable.

  • Equium A60: Is it possible to update the graphics card?

Because the graphics card in the A60 Equium is not very good and I was wondering if I could get a different graphics card and plug it into the back and used instead.

If someone could tell me if I can I would be very grateful

    Hello

No, it s not possible to update the graphics card to another.
As you certainly know, the laptop technology is not the same as the desktop PC simply. It s the motherboard technology all just different. You know that heat is a bigger problem for every laptop and generally of designer, developer and manufacturing. In addition, the various interfaces are not equal.

For example: what do you think, why Intel doesn't produce chips with speeds of 10 GHz, 100GHz, or 1000GHz. Because of the heat.

I think that the graphics card performance will produce more heat, and this could lead to overheating problems.
The other graphics card needs another module of cooling and the cooling module must be compatible with the motherboard. Everything needs to be changed (the case design, interfaces, etc.) before the upgrade might be possible. In my view it is simply not possible at the moment.

  • Is it possible to update the graphics card in the Satellite A200-195

Is it posible to upgrade this card for me to play the game of MSTS?

Usually it of not possible to update the graphics cards installed in notebooks!
    Laptop technology is simply different!
The graphics card is attached to the motherboard and it of not possible to remove it in a simple way.

I have always recommended to use the computer to play the game!
If you need the computer for hardcore games you should buy a desktop computer.
Why? Because the latest games need for most fastest graphics card and the desktop PC can be upgraded much easily as a laptop.

But finally it of your choice what you use ;)

    Best regards

I have a Compact PC of CQ5210F and I was wondering if I could update the graphics card

Here are the specs of your computer CQ5210F. Based on these specifications, you can install a PCIe x 16 graphics. Also, unless your replacement card does not require more than one power supply 250 watt system, you will need to upgrade your diet as well.

  • Do I have to update the graphics card if I upgrade the processor / i3 540 to an i5 760 on a Pavilion p6530

I am trying to upgrade my CPU on a Pavilion p6530f using windows 7 64 bit. I installed the processor and I get 1 long beep and two short beeps, and the computer does not start. According to the table of code beep on HP web site, it sounds like a problem with the graphics card or the lack of. The graphics are integrated on the processor i3 540 provided with the system, but the new i5 760 processor doesn't have graphics integrated with him so I'm a bit cloudy on what it all means.

    Curious11, welcome to the forum.

This means that you can buy a discrete videocard (PCI Express x 16).  This will really give you a boost of good performance.  However, I suggest that you upgrade to the power supply (PSU), also.  The current PSU is only 250W.  The latest intermediate level maps require a minimum of 400W.  I normally recommend at least 500W.  This will give you more choices of video cards and future updates.  I like Corsair and OCZ.  You must measure the current PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.

I like the graphics cards XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  You should stay less than 9 "in length to make sure that it fits in the space provided.  Some members used the cards 9.25 "without problems of measurement reports.  In the link card is a card that works.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  There are many cards that will do well.

  • HP Pavilion a6442p. Update the graphics card with HDMI?

My second computer is a HP Pavilion a6442p.  I would like to upgrade the graphics card with HDMI because I want to connect it to my TV to use the TV as a monitor.  I realize that the power supply is only 250.  I tried AMD Radeon 4350, but the computer would not set the card to display correctly.  Are there other maps any with HDMI that might work?  I thank in advance, Debbie

    Hi Deb5212,

Food that I suggested above will replace the existing power supply. It has enough power to handle the NVIDIA 550TI if you wish to get a more powerful video card (but more expensive).

In general, I recommend the Corsair CX500 because she has enough power to handle most video cards except the very high-end. However, it is more expensive.

    Hello

It is not really possible to update the graphics your laptop card - although it is called a 'card' in reality she is physically welded to the motherboard in the same way as a chip.  Even if you could find someone with the necessary skills to replace it, you would also have to re - write the bios to allow the new hardware - BIOS of HP have a 'white list' authorized equipment and anything not on the list will prevent starting laptop.

    Kind regards
