HP Pavilion m7667c, try to install Vista 32 bit. No OS - the charge not assigned drive letter.

My HP Pavilion PC m7667c console was at the origin of many blue screens. After several diags that does not solve the problem, I replaced the power supply because the block is dead.  Then replaced the motherboard.  The XP PC operating system will not recover because the BONE had already improved Multimedia Pro XP to VISTA. I can get the VISTA OS to run from my CD to upgrade to VISTA, but the operating system is not found, because there is no drive letter assigned to the drive.  I tried a replacement for the HD signal cable but no help.  I can't on a screen so windows help.  At this point, I'm ready to reformat the hard drive then maybe I could partition and assign a drive.  Any suggestions?

Hello

How many drives are installed on your PC?  RAID mode running on your PC?

Boot into the bios and look under the Advanced menu.  What is the setting for the SATA mode?

    Hello

Vista 64 bit does not recognize the HARD drive because the RAID driver has not been installed in a previous step.
You need to install the RAID driver first, and then Vista will see HARD drive!

But I think there could be a problem with the installation of the 64-bit version.
The driver of Toshiba page doesn t provide any drivers for the 64 bit OS and you will find all drivers 64-bit RIAD.
You can try to install the 32-bit version but I m not sure if it will run.

    You can test it!

  • Win Vista 64 bit hangs on the 9800GT Nvidia video driver

    Hello

I recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and it works very well using GPU on board. Problems started when I installed the 9800GT. It works when I use the standard VGA driver windows installed, but after that I updated to the latest version of the driver the screen would be black after the initial screen that displays the progress bar just before the vista logo and nickname. I went to the VGA driver, so I can type this upward.

The machine is still trying to get all the service packs and updates, and I was wondering if the problem will be solved by getting all the updates.

The problem seems so much as questions of other people were able to see with the video card since ' 09. I hope he has improved since then.

    Thanks in advance.

The Vista installation disc is a DVD. Apparently, you don't have a DVD player. You would need to purchase/install a DVD-ROM or DVD - RW to install Vista. Are you sure that your hardware supports Vista before doing this?

Even if a minimum of 1 GB, the requirements in the real world Vista requires a minimum of 2 GB of RAM to run without problem. You will also need Vista drivers for all your hardware.

    Product keys are bit-agnostic - they don't care if it's 32-bit or 64-bit.

However, cannot legally use the recovery disk from one computer to a different constructor machine - as other licenses are not properly paid..

There is nothing nonetheless to try all possible variations on the absence of character (there are only 25, after all the )

Other than that, your best option is to contact the manufacturer and order a set of recovery disc for the machine. I do no download available for Vista with SP2 - but you can download Vista with SP1 and create the disc.

Sounds like you have enabled autoplay
Whenever you insert the memory key USB flash it will try and read the contents of the files on it.
You can disable this by holding SHIFT when you insert the USB key.
This should disable the AutoPlay option.
Then you can go to MY computer in order to access the USB key.

Note: pilots are zipped so you will need to decompress the content first, I installed a 3rd third party tool called WinRAR to unpack the packages unique.

    This isn't a problem.
It's a design to prevent unauthorized users to perform certain tasks.
Installation and uninstallation are some of these tasks that require administrator rights.

If you are not an administrator, or you do not have an administrator password, you can not install or uninstall.
    Not another way around it.

  • Can I install Vista 64 bit on 32-bit Vista?

I can install Vista 64 bit on a Vista 32-bit mode window mode or should I make an OS install clean / modified?

You must do a clean install, which means that you must start again Vista 64-bit DVD and follow the instructions on the screen.

I think the upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit is not possible.
