HP Pavilion Notebook - 15: scroll pad doesn't remember settings

Hello

This problem has been driving me crazy for weeks.

Everytime I turn on my laptop, I have to reset the Clickpad settings to enable the "scroll" as ever, he remembers the creation.

I have the most upto date driver, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing works.

All solutions to resolve this annoying problem before I have to contact HP? He was going well until the upgrade Windows 10!

Thank you very much.

Hello

Try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

Close the registry editor.

Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.

Kind regards

  • Product: HP Pavilion Notebook-PC G7, cannot access the bios settings/turn off the keys f1 - f12, please help!

    I got this laptop PC in 2012, it is a series of G7, I'm pretty sure. My problem is that when I turn the computer off and turn it back on, there is no option to open the menu of the bios (esc) or any option besides. Just a symble blue HP directly in the middle of the screen with a symbol of little loading below him. I pressed ESC, f1 - f10 and virtually all other keys to try to access it. What I really want to do is to disable most annoying f1 - f12 function keys.

    I'm no longer under warranty and my operating system is Windows 8.  There is also no error at all, just no response what that's right don't charge up to login password screen.

    Please help and contribution is appreciated.

    I see that you are looking to access the BIOS of your laptop Pavilion. You can't access BIOS in the same way on Windows 8, because you have a faction of a second to get the right timing because of the quick loading of Windows 8 feature. This third party link will show you how to access the UEFI that will lead to the BIOS. You can also do it from the Windows 8 login screen as this Microsoft link will show. Here is a document from HP support disable the function on some models Fn key combination +.

  • HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK 2000: need to reset to factory settings

    I think the operating system was windows 8. At the moment all I get error message when starting upwards, Oxoooo605, for the most part tried everything, nothing works. I can't even do a recovery as its only gives me 10 windows, which I have not installed. Can someone tell me how to put hard back to factory settings? I realize that I won't lose everything, but I need to get this laptop operational. Product number is EOK744UA #ABA. Thank you very much.

    @jaydesgrandma:

    Don't know how you tried resetting, but the instructions are in the linked material: perform a recovery of the system (Windows 8) HP | HP® customer support

    What do you mean by " it's only give you Windows 10"? What this?

    Microsoft, in their eagerness to get Win10 on 1 billion computers, is now FORCING Win10 upgrades to Win8x people running, making it very difficult to do routine Windows Update without updating AUTOMATICALLY to Win10.  If you did yourself updates of Windows, or even worse, if you have updates Windows automatically installs the value, then what would have happened is that (without your knowledge) began the upgrade Win10 in the background - and if that happened, one of the two outcomes could be: (1) your computer would now run Win10 (2) the upgrade would fail, leaving you with a damaged machine.

    If the latter happened, unfortunately, an unpleasant side effect of the upgrade of Win10 is that it can corrupt the OEM recovery on the computer information, and if this happens, the HP recovery function will not work.

    If you tell us more about what you were doing, which could help us understand the problem.

  • Yoga 11s Touchpad doesn't remember settings

    Hello

    I did a new install and installed the driver for the touchpad from the Lenovo Web site:

    Driver touchpad (momentum, Synaptics) for 64-bit Windows
    tp112w8.exe
    122MB

    First of all, when we execute the first setup.exe in the directory root, he said 'no suitable driver must be installed', so I installed the one in the Synaptics\16.6.3 folder.

    Everything works fine but when I restart the computer not all, but some settings back without joints.

    I installed the driver for the 13 Yoga and it works very well but this time the touchpad disable in tablet mode...

    Kind regards

    Everything works awesomely with 8.1 of Windows and the latest driver displayed to win 8.1 in the support page.
    Thank you

  • PE9 doesn't remember settings

    Hi all

    I'm new to this forum. A bit of an introduction: Johan is my name. From the Netherlands. And I'm new to Premiere Elements. I have a little experience (professionally) with FinalCut and with an older version of WinXP first.

    But now I'm on a brand new Mac mini with SnowLeopard. Bunch of fun!

    Now to my problem: first recalls its initial settings. Whenever I start the first I need to change the default NTSC to PAL (and other parameters too). Elsewhere (on this forum, too) it is said that these settings are supposed to be sticky: the last parameter is known for all future sessions until what you decide to change these settings. But no, not in my case.

    I forgot something or what?

    Sincerely,

    Johan

    ~~~/\___Flevoland___/\~~~
    I don't know what goes wrong, Johan, but I have never seen anything like this before.
    I have been using Premiere Elements on my Mac for a year. Always default to the last I used project settings.
  • Pavilion Notebook 15-ab243cl: transfer from old computer to new computer programs
    We just bought a new HP Pavilion Notebook, with 10 windows, to replace its old HP Pavilion dv4-2153, which has been upgraded to Windows 10.  Now we have a problem - how to move programs and files to the new.
    I found two products on the market that claim to be able to do this, but critics of both of them include some less then incounaging stories.  I hope that HP has developed some good software to do this, especially between their own products, or at least can recommend a reliable software.  They must be proud when a customer likes their products well enough to replace genre by genre.
    Any help here?
    Thank you
    Dennis
    dfsplett
    Hello;
    Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
    I read your message want to migrate applications from one PC to another and wanted to help.
    Sorry to disappoint you, but HP doesn't no matter what app migration software (that I know).
    However, LapLink does – in its range of PC Mover of products.  The one who moves in the apps is the Pro version.
    I know it works because I used it myself.
    The new version, Win10, has an additional feature that you can migrate applications from an Image file.
    Which means, you can make a backup of the complete picture of your old PC (and to do this, I recommend Macrium Reflect - further) a key USB or external hard drive, which will allow the new PC, install PC Mover there - and restore apps directly from the backup image.
    Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.
    What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    You have NOW a backup of the image of the old PC - and all of the information required by PC Mover to migrate applications to the new PC.
    Good luck
    I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
    Hi, bought my Pavilion Notebook 15-ab206no last week. Worked fine until I went to turn it on this morning... nothing!
    LED light is orange by the AC adapter cord but other than nothing. Tried to remove the battery, running only on the AC adapter / CC and other obvious solutions, but still nothing. What should I do? The bloomin' thing is new, so I doubt that something wrong with cord or battarey West.
    Hi there @Dagg333,
    I understand the fear because it's only a week.
    As it is so new, there are two options available to you. You could take it back to place of purchase and see if they will allow you to exchange it. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it will work for you because it depends on where you bought it, return policies are all different.
    If this does not please use the following link to create yourself a file number, please contact us:
    Hello, I have this problem. My processor AMD A-10 5745 M has 4 cores, I can either change from 1 up to 4 cores.     Hi @RedCheesecake ,
    Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I watched your show on your HP Pavilion Notebook 14-n012ax and the problem with speeds. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings that could solve the problem with the speeds and the fans.
    Here's a document on improving your system.
    Make sure that all updates are completed within the control panel or click the Windows key and start typing the laptop settings, then go to update.
    You could try a refresh of Windows 8. Please read the entire document before performing.
    Please let me know how it goes.
  • Hard drive on HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4 Faliure?
    Model: HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4
    System ID: 165C
    Product ID: LW342UA #ABA
    Processor: AMD Athlon (TM) II P650 Dual-Core processor
    Serial number: 5CD1241GPC
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    After a short period of time left on a surface hard and easily broken down in the standby mode, the laptop was considerably lag. I tried to restart it (after you have closed all programs) to see if that would fix the freezing, without result. Concerned, I have restored the laptop to an earlier date (yesterday), but that has not solved the problem.
    I ran a test run-in via the start menu, and it doesn't have; the cause was the hard drive, and when I ran the specific test on the hard drive, it has also failed.
    The ID of the error it gave me both times was: 9LGKKW-5NQ6GL-MFPV56-60RQ03, followed by the product ID of the hard disk, which is listed above (product ID, he registered as a Hard Disk 1). The failure has been described as a failure of the short DST.
    I was wondering what the problem was, how I could possibly fix this (and otherwise, if the covered guarantee) and any other information that I could possibly be given about the issue.
    I use a different laptop to access this site.
    If the laptop is under warranty, HP will replace the hard drive. Call them and ask that they send you a replacement unit rather than ask them to send the entire unit. You did the recovery discs? If this isn't the case, you need to ask a set of thise be bundled with the drive. It seems that data may still be recoverable on the old drive, but I doubt that it now allows a set fo used recovery disks.
    Hello
    Try the following.
    Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72139.exe
    When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R
    In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.
    In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.
    When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.
    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72043.exe
    When the reinstallation of Chipset has completed, restart the laptop.
    When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.
