HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-f250: new SSD not recognized, Pavilion 17 AMD drivers

Hello

I bought the laptop (HP Pavilion Notebook 17-f250) on September 2015 and this September 2016, I decided to upgrade with a 2nd SSD.

I bought a caddy, placed my SAMSUNG EVO 850 PRO inside, removed the optical drive and then place the CART inside the laptop. It fit perfectly, no problem there.

But Windows does not recognize it at all in MANAGEMENT OF DISKS.

It is not here in order to format it, etc...

My IDE/SATA appears as "AMD SATA CONTROLLER".

I can not find anywhere no possibility of enablev AHCI etc... My BIOS is not an option to check if the AHCI drivers are enabled or not.

With the AUTOMATIC DETECTION is my driver: AMD APU A4-6210 with graphics AMD RADEON R3.

My operating system is WINDOWS 10.

FYI, I bought another same SSD for my office and worked smoothly. I only have a problem with my laptop, and I can't figure out how to recognize the Windows SSD!

BR,

Dionisis

What caddy you bought? There are a lot of these on the market and some are not made with the highest quality control. You may have it tested with another hard drive?

Second, the interface for the optical drive is SATA which is ahci. The drivers are not the issue.

Finally, put an SSD in an optical drive is a little excessive spending from one optical drive interface is slower, so the speed of SSDS is wasted. It would be much better to put a regular hard drive large, slow in the optical Bay for storage. Having an SSD in there won't be fast in all directions. Also, a disc in an optical Bay will not be initiated.

I'm having a problem with the installation of a new SSD on my T5400. Ultimatly I want to load the operating system and all the software on the SSD and then install a 2nd hard drive SSD of same type and size to store my files.

    My specific situation is:

Previously a poweredge 6 / i sas card scsi perc 6 with the installation of 500 GB HD (2) RAID 0, Win 7 pro 64 bit.

I removed the adapter perc 6 and installed a new Samsung 850 Evo 500 gb SSD on sata 0 position. I'm trying to do a fresh reload of the OS on the SSD with the bios (Version 11) set to Raid Autodetect/AHCI selected.

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for your reply.

I currently have the readers installed and running on my system

In response to your answer, yes Bios A11 had been installed for more than a year, removed the card activated before installing the SSD raid and AHCI.

The question, it turns out that was a simple, as I said after enabling the AHCI I thought that ports 0 and 1 auto detects new readers, they do not have. Once I have manually configured ports on in the Bios, the system recognizes the new SSD and they work now.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6004ea: new SSD not recognized in the BIOS

Hi I have a want dv7 and is currently using a 700 GB drive HARD However im upgrading to an SSD

I bought a Sandisc SSD PLUS 120 GB, I cloned the HDD to the SSD, I see partitions

in windows Explorer when im running HDD, but when I try to boot from SSD I get an error

error code (3F2) I ran diagnosis but no result without error of ideas? Thank you

If you use the Apricorn software and a usb cable to SATA it should work.

I did it several times without problem, except when I got an SSD that was a problem.

Replace the original hard drive in the notebook.

Download the latest version of the firmware from the manufacturer to the SSD and install it.

Once you have done this, try cloning of the OS for the SSD, reinstall it in Notepad and start on the SSD.

This settings in Bios called sometimes "interfaces sata".

    The performances are a quarter more slow (125 MB/s vs. 500 mb/s).

The hard drive has the latest firmware available.

There is a solution to finally put on the "performance"?

    Hello

Indeed, it is very strange question

However, it would be interesting to know if this BIOS <–>recognition SSD problem appears with the other SSD drives. Have you tested other SSD?

Otherwise, I think that if this problem would appear with different disc SSD, the BIOS may not be not entirely compatible with various SSD.

  • SSD not recognized, in-house or Via USB

Very long story, there are similar positions here but other situations are not the same as mine or the answers do not explain things very well.  I am trying to replace the hard drive in my MBP mid-2010 with a modern SSD, the manufacturer said it is not formatted (say you need to get in shape first of all, in response, saying that their operating system does not recognize in some way, shape, as is my case).  When I put it in the internal drive Bay I get the big "?", sometimes alternates between it and the icon of the Apple and the circle with a slash through it (which means indicates that it has not recognized connected equipment).  I bought the cable I need to connect it via the USB port, I have the original hard disk to another external drive that I intend to use to keep my saved MBP, I want to clone the original to the new SSD hard drive, then try to boot from it.  I'm sure I have format the SSD drive, but how can I do if it is not recognized?  When I connect it outside of a Windows machine (7) it is recognised in Device Manager (but not in my computer).

  • Pavilion dv6 - 1350us: dv6 1350us 240 GB SSD not recognized by BIOS ver F.41

    Hi all

I want to replace the stock 340 GB hard drive SATA with a 240GB SSD but the BIOS does not detect the SSD drive. Here are the specs:

HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook - dv6-1350us (Intel - Core 2 Duo)

    BIOS - Hewlett-Packard F.41, 12/11/2009

    SSD - Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240GB Model # MKNSSDCR240GB-DX

This laptop is currently in operation with no problems. It has been upgraded to Windows Pro 10 and all the latest updates installed - it's just very slooowly. The SSD, I try to use is checked 100% working. It detects and is accessible by other computers and works very well in a USB/SATA attached to this laptop docking bay. The SSD has been deleted, including the protected EFI & system partitions - IOW, it's completely empty - without walls.

I am capable of (old) drive image hard work and save it on an external USB drive. The image size is 110 GB and includes data, system and recovery partitions, so it fits on the SSD. When I install the SSD in the laptop there is no option to boot from it so I guess that it is not properly detected in the BIOS. Nevertheless, with the SSD installed, I can boot from a Windows 10 'repair DVD' and get to the point where he's ready to recreate the image. However, since the SSD is not detected in the BIOS, it just gives me an error and dumps me.

I want to update the BIOS to see if it helps but I can't launch the HP flash/upgrade BIOS updated SoftPaq (sp54629.exe) on Windows 10. I get a UAC error that says: this app has been blocked for your protection. An administrator has blocked the delivery of this application...... sp54629.exe... Publisher: Not approved

My question: if I restore the old o/s Win7 (original) of the partition recovery and then run the update of the BIOS SoftPaq under Win7, it will allow the BIOS to see the SSD? I don't want to waste hours until I can be fairly certain that the problem will be solved by upgrading the BIOS.

    Thank you in advance!

Update: still no solution to this problem of HP. 5 hours wasted. Had to install temproarily old hard drive from the laptop in order to reinstall Win7, as well as all the crapware HP forces on us all, the recovery of the DVD because Firmware HP update software does not work with Win10 - THANKS HP! Anyway, it did not help the problem at all. In addition, I tried a SSD of SATA-III (Samsung) different with the same results. HP has to pay a bunch of 12 years to write BIOS of their laptops. Well, time to throw this laptop HP in the landfill. HP - never.

  • CQ50-130US: CQ50-130US SSD not recognized

My in-laws CQ50-130US has a scratch disk, but the machine is SO slow I want to update a 5400 RPM for one SSD and windows Vista 7 (or maybe 10). I installed a Sandisk Plus 120 GB SSD but can not get the system to recognize it. I can see it using a USB docking station I have on another machine, I even formatted it so the drive seems to be OK.

I updated the BIOS of F.25 to F.65. The BIOS will start to test the drive (because I don't know what all the test consists of I cancel immediately so I use unnecessarily) and if I remove the disc test fail... so the BIOS sees it, but when I get to the windows installation, Windows is unable to find a drive to install on.

I google a certain number of things, but what I found doing the litle is meaningless, as it said that it should be a 256 GB for the BIOS drive to see, but it doesn't seem to be the problem.

I had to use the drivers when I install disks to a RAID controller and which seems to be what windows 7 is looking for here, but too sholdnt happen.

I'd appreciate help if there is to be

    At any time.

I am pleased to have been of assistance.

On a newer platform, I think any SSD will work.

On the largest, it's a crap shoot.

I noticed in the specifications of the HP 6930p, which was the first company PC HP 'officially' supported for one SSD.

  • Dell Latitude e5440 - Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD not recognized

I bought a new 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD for my Dell Latitude e5440 (running Windows 7 Pro).  The new player was not visible in 'Computer', so I downloaded, installed and ran the software Samsung magician.

Samsung software shows that the drive is present.  And there is a button "Validate" - I clicked on - and now: ' Drive Health Status: Good ' and ' serial number: true "appears.

However, the SSD is not visible when I double-click on computer and the Samsung software States:

    a. "AHCI Mode. Disabled (IDE or RAID).  AHCI mode is necessary for the best performance of the SSD. »

    b. SATA Interface s. o. cannot detect SATA interface details.

    c. s. o. OS OS optimization is supported only for disks using an operating system drive.

Question 1: Activation of this AHCI mode will allow Windows to recognize the SSD?

    Question 2: How do I?

Question 3: Activate the AHCI mode "switch off" (logout) my HDD 2.5 "?  (I want to keep Windows 7 to 2.5 "HARD disk and install Windows 10 on the SSD to have a dual boot system, until I got used to Windows 10).

Inside of your battery compartment is a label with your license key Windows 7 OEM on it.  Photograph it.

Download and prepare a USB key with a copy of Windows 10 TH2 Pro.

Remove the disk 2.5 "and connect the new drive mSATA.

Boot the system to the USB key.  10 Windows Installer should be of the presence of the DSS and will allow you to do the installation of Windows 10 - which in turn is almost certainly going to install the network driver suitable for your system without the need to add anything else.

USE your 7 product key when prompted and you should be all set.

Once this is done, you can reconnect the disk 2.5 "If you want to do - but remember that 10 installation is done separately from the 2.5 disk".
