HP Pavilion Notebook: No more Wifi after update realtek wireless LAN drivers

Thus, HP support Assistant said I had to update the 7 things. Including RealTek Wireless LAN drivers. After having done that, I've disconnected my wireless network. When I click on the internet icon in the bar below, it shows only a "Airplane Mode" button and that's it. Before, it would also show all available networks. I don't know what I have to do, but I need a quick fix!

Peppers

Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the loss of WiFi after a driver update and wanted to help.

I see that you are running Win10.  Then, click the start menu and open the Device Manager.

When you find the wireless network device, try rolling back the drivers to the previous version.  With a little luck, after you do this and you reboot, the WiFi will work again.

And if it works, then disable HP Support Assistant so it won't mess up your drivers more.

Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Satellite U940 - update Realtek Wireless LAN Driver

I just upgraded my Satellite U940 PSU6VA - 00S 002 Windows 8 to 8.1 of Windows and am currently following the instructions of the upgrade from here. I noticed that European and Australian Toshiba sites include a 'Realtek Wireless LAN Driver' in their list of downloads driver for Windows 8.1 for the Satellite U940:
    - European page
    -[http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows81/drivers/PSU6V_Up_au.htm]

However, I have never noticed any a Realtek wireless LAN driver on my computer, before even that I have upgraded to Windows 8.1. I've only seen in Device Manager network cards:
    -Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200
-Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (which I believe is a wired LAN driver, not a LAN wireless driver).

So my question is: do I have to download the Realtek wireless network driver or is it not suitable for my system?

    > So my question is: do I have to download the Realtek wireless network driver or is it not suitable for my system?

Your laptop was equipped with Intel wireless network adapter and NOT card Realtek WLan and therefore the Realtek WLan driver does not need to be installed.
You should consider a fact: there are different laptops on the market models that are equipped with different material parts. Some support the Realtek WLan card and some models were equipped with modules WLan Intel and that's why you can find some drivers (like Realtek Bluetooth Driver Package Filter) in the driver from the list of downloads that are not essential for all models.

  • Tecra R850-117 no WiFi after update Windows10

I tried to update windows 10 TECRA R850-117.
After update wifi is not found. Had to goback to win7

Any suggestions what could be done for successful update to win10 with working wifi

There is probably a WLan driver problem.
I think you should check if the wireless card is properly recognized in device-> network cards Manager.

In addition its recommended to uninstall the WLan driver in Device Manager and restart the laptop. Usually Win 10 is expected to begin the search for compatible driver... If this is not the case, you can manually search driver update (also in Device Manager)

Of course, the laptop must be connected to the internet using LAN

    Hello Vira_Bathwar,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that the computer wireless functions stopped working since the upgrade to Windows 8.1. I'll do what I can to help you!

To help out, there are two downloads that I will provide. The first is a software driver Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN. It is precisely the problems of upgrade Wireless Windows 8 to 8.1: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp65001-65500/sp65047.exe

The second is Mediatek 802.11n Wireless LAN Driver for this product for Windows 8.1. All Mediatek drivers now provide correct Ralink support, which has caused some confusion. You can locate the correct driver here, but only try this one if one goes down: Mediatek 802.11 Wireless LAN Adapter Driver

I think this should help you. Whatever it is, please provide your results. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Vista Home Premium; "no audio device is installed" after update Realtek.

    Hello

I recently updated the driver from myRealtek, and after reboot as recommended, I got a red X on my sound icon and the message "no audio device is installed" under the sound engineer. Realtek and Unimodem drivers audio show that they work and I uninstalled both and reinstalled the latest versions and then uninstalled and reinstalled the original ones that came on the computer, but nothing has worked. I stopped, started and restarted Windows Audio and tried restoring the system (without success) and recovery of driver (would be successful) but I have still no sound.

I run Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, Service Pack 1 on a HP Pavilion dv6648se.

Ideas, suggestions or comments would be appreciated, I'm starting to think that I might have to perform a full recovery of the system. Thanks in advance!

    Hello

The main thing is the driver version in Device Manager - the same as that of its
    you installed
    - you run the driver - restart until it is - you must do it manually and not use the
Updated driver (more than initially) and not to use the restoration in the Device Manager. Also check doubke
you actually have the appropriate driver.

Check/settings (BIOS/CMOS) as you start screen - often F2 shows you start for the keys. Do
    its edge is activated,

If you can not do work check with HP Support and forums for known issues. Or take to a real
computer store (not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other BigBox stores).

  • Why my executables LabVIEW losing features GPIB after update to 488,2 drivers

A year ago on a remote test unit, I had put in place for a production line, a worker had decided to launch National Service update of the Instruments on the test PC and update all available programs. After this update, none of the GPIB functions worked on test executable for the test of LabVIEW software. After the execution of Automation Explorer, I was able to confirm that all of the GPIB instruments were still present, operation and alias still correct. The only way I could solve this problem was by erasing all National Instruments software and put it back into place, again.

Yesterday on a local test machine is the same thing. This time 488.2 full driver package has been installed from a USB stick to update the 488,2 drivers on the machine and subsequently, none of the GPIB functions worked, causing all LabVIEW test executables to lock up. Once again, Automation Explorer shows that the GPIB instruments are installed and functioning and all aliases are always accurate. I erased all the software of NOR and reinstalled but now I stil can't get LabVIEW programs to work properly.

Someone at - it of another expereinced this problem?

    What is the solution?

After thinking the problem to the remote installation, it appeared that after a year of operation, the problem occurred after update 488,2 pilots to the new version 14.0

The cure is to install the drivers of v3.1.2 previous back on the system.

I uninstalled all the software version 14 of OR out of my test PC set-up and installed the package v3.1.2 OR-488. 2 and all the executables started working again.

The Readme for VISA DURATION v14.0 says is comaptible with LabVIEW versions 2011-2014, but apparently there is a problem at least 2013 that touched me.

  • Satellite C660-15 cannot install the update of wireless lan

I receive a notice indicating that my wireless lan driver should be updated. I followed the instructions and know which unit my laptop (Realtek: RTL8188CE) and download the appropriate driver software. It appears as a zip file in my downloads folder. I unzip and then what?

Read the instructions Dutch (although I prefer English on notice that download and update the driver) it is said to look for a readme file (they are all very old, since 2010, none in 2011). Really they don't say anything about what to do. In Dutch, he also says to click on SETUP. I find one that is marked as an application, so I double click that.

It runs, and then on the screen it says something like: "the software may or may not have installed correctly". So I click on it to install it again. Same thing.

I had no idea if it installed correctly or not, so I clicked on the features of network/system/control panel (?) / Realtek... and right-click to see which version of the device driver is there and it has not changed.

So, what should I do to get this new driver works correctly?

I tried several times and it doesn't work right. It becomes very frustrating and there seems to be no way to contact Toshiba support, other than through this forum (which is users rather than support from Toshiba, I think).

    Help, please.

    cjbbrussels

Try to install the driver using the old-school method.

Enter the card WLAN (Device Manager) properties > driver > Update driver and browse to the RTL_Driver folder. Choose the folder 7 x 64 or 7 x 78, according to the version of the OS you are using.

I think that it will install the driver.

By the way: If your WLAN is working properly you should not install this driver.
