  • HP Recovery Manager & Recovery Media creation unavailable in SEARCH CHARM!

I have HP Pavilion n209TX-15 Notebook PC with Windows 8.1 update 1.
My system is up to date with all the upgrades of HP & Windows updates. I already have recovery in DVD image recently after the purchase.
But now, I have noted that HP Recovery Manager or create recovery media software applications could be seen on the search in the charm of research even with the drop-down list "everywhere".
I noticed this when I had to reinstall after uninstalling HP Support Assistant yesterday.
No idea where it went all of a sudden. Help, please. Thanks in advance.

    Hi visruth,

Sorry for the delay in replying, enjoyed the weekend. I hope you had a good too.

I have read your answers and from the other thread that you linked to. I also checked on a lab for Windows 8.1 here to see what it was you were looking for you. I understand that now.

To clarify for you, you don't have a virus. What is happening is all just link to when you need to remove and reinstall the HP Support Assistant software. The HP Recovery Manager tool, belongs to who. What seems to be produced is the removal/relocation has cause the link you used to find during a search to be broken. The fact that it works when access you it via the Help Assistant, supports that theory.

What I suggested to you in my first post should / could fix that. That he essentially fixes files. I will only include the document again like a Microsoft one for you. In order to clarify you hesitate to do the system update. You won't lose any of your files up-to-date ect. and that your computer came with Windows 8.1 not restore it. This only happens if you had improved (I had it said). So you have no problem with the update running.

    Here are the two documents:
How to refresh, reset or restore your PC
Refresh your PC to solve problems (Windows 8)

I also want to let you know that by removing all the Cyberlink software, you have lost your webcam in laptop. However, when you perform the update, this should be fixed as well.  Please try this and let me know how make you out with her.

    Thanks for your replies.

  • HP ENVY Desktop - 750-167c: HP recovery media creation

I recently bought a HP Envy desktop computer and I tried to create a recovery media and I get a message saying that the partition does not exist. The machine is Factory reconditioned.

What are my options to move forward. I'm guessing that the mahcine should have this partition when it was "reconditioned."

I suggest you call HP support that could take a command remotely on your computer to see what goes wrong, and then if necessary, they might send you a series of recovery Image factory (depending on the situation).

  • HP Touchsmart 15-r017dx: recovery media creation will not accept DVD

I had trouble creating recovery discs and tried to make them for a week now and he's really starting to happen to me. My laptop requires 5 discs DVD and I started using DVD + R (Memorex) discs and was able to create 3 of the 5 disks required. Then I had to go to the store for a bit more, but apparently I got DVD + R DL discs, concerned that it was a problem that I checked the compatibility and these discs should work fine with the design of recovery media program. However, whenever I insert a DVD my laptop just gushes it back asking for me to insert another disc. I don't think it's a problem with the brand since I was able to do 3 discs already using the same brand. I even went in Mode safe mode to see if maybe it would help, but it didn't. I searched everywhere for a solution and can not find someone with the same problem as me. I am at my wits end with this process so please any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have a HP Touchsart 15 - r017dx running Windows 10 (64-bit).

You started with dvd single layer and that's how the image is already created. You must continue with a single layer.

BTW-Memorex is not a good choice of discs. I always recommend them to avoid if possible.

  • S HP Probook 4330 recovery media creation

    Hi all

Just got my new Probook which I am very happy with, but there is no option to create a recovery media. Pressing F11 at startup to high gives only the option to restore, not to create discs. There is no recovery Manager software installed on the operating system. If in its current state, if the hard drive dies, I would not be able to recover.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hello

If there is no HP Recovery Manager installed, then no, you don't have this option. Neither program is available for download.

I had the same thing on my HP Elitebook 6930p.

Recovery partition could be used to restore the operating system to the factory by using the F11 key settings, however, I had no option to create a recovery media. And no recovery disk provided with the laptop.

Having much experience with HP business PC, I knew that I could order a set of disks on their part.

Normally, I buy my PC used and off-lease, so I had to pay $10 for the recovery disks, because the machines were out of warranty.

I bought the new 6930p and HP sent me the discs for free.  Maybe they will do the same for you too.

At this point, your best bet is to use a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

    Hello

I would recommend when even create your set of recovery disc for two reasons.

    1. If you need to make a claim under warranty, HP may ask that the original operating system OEM version of.

    2. If you want to sell the phone in the future, most people prefer to have discs that reinstalling the OS, drivers and software in one appointment.

  • "Partition recovery has been deleted" Message in creation of recovery media

    HP Pavilion 2205tx - C5j09PA #UUF G4

"Partition recovery has been deleted" Message in creation of recovery media.

I bought my new HP pavilion laptop G4 two days ago only and has not changed anything in the two players named drive C: for windows and D: for HP Recovery.

now, I want to do a recovery with the HP Recovery Manager software disk.

but it shows a Massage: "Recovery of Partition was deleted" Recovery Media creation section.

in the recovery Partition my computer is almost full (3.26 G 25.5 G is free). so I think that there are current recovery files.

I have not access to HP to buy recovery disk or call support.

    Thank you

I don't know why your PC is saying your partition disappeared - you're right, it seems to be missing. I know that if you use the wizard to help to make your recovery disks backup copies and then ask him to remove the recovery partition to give you more space on the hard drive, it will remove the factory image HP of Windows 8 for the recovery partition and let the normal Windows repair tools.

There are tools, but which allow you to create your own recovery partition full with these tools of Windows repair and a new image of your instalation so that you can restore from that. You can use this tool: Windows 7/8 - creator of Partition Recovery OEM available here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/21978-Windows-7-8-OEM-Recovery-Partition-Creator but it's a lot of work and it would be faster and more easy just for your data backup and restoration of your HP recovery disks made you from the support Assistant. If you did not the disks, HP can opt to send you a copy... they do not normally this but I read that some people have luck to get a free copy of HP media... otherwise, they want you to buy recovery disks ($40.00). I guess it depends on the exact terms of your situation.

An alternative is to use Macrium Reflect Free Edition to ghost or clone your system. You can then restore your entire system even with your custom programs installed, to the exact state it was when you made the backup image. (this may take several dvd) I suggest that you go down that road because your system with Macrium Reflect restore is much faster than restoring from the HP recovery discs. Even if you do not get another copy recovery disks, you must use this tool to make another backup that you can customize to your liking. Your re - installs will be faster, they will already have your chosen installed software, and you will save wear on your HP recovery disks.  You can then delete the recovery partition to regain this space on your hard drive (since you cannot access in all cases, you will not need this space being taken up).  BUT... you cannot restore Mode UEFI which is what HP comes with. You have to go into your Bios settings and switch in the Legacy Bios mode (which disables the secure boot) FIRST or else the Macruim recovery boot disk will not load to install the recovery image. After the system re - installs you can go back into the bios settings and disable bios Legacy and reactivate if secure boot you want. (Windows 8 charge mode UEFI bios active secure boot or Legacy mode... it's your choice.) UEFI mode will load faster, but it will cause problems if you want double boot the system with another OS) hope this helps.

  • Cannot cancel the process of creation of recovery media and start a new

Help me to cancel the recovery media creation process and it all over again because I found that I need four discs to make the establishment of recovery. I did the first disc, but I need to get an another three discs for the process to be completed. It is said that "creation of media recovery is not complete", if I want to cancel the whole operation and start from the beginning later when I'm ready for it. How I can do this, measures or instructions to solve this problem would be appreciated.

    Computer: HP Pavilion dv6-6120se

OS: Windows 7 Edition home premium x 64

You can create only one set of recovery disks. So once the process is complete, you will not be able to create a new one.

  • That means the creation of recovery media requires 5 discs?

    Hello

I want to create recovery discs using HP recovery media creation, but unfortunately, the program wants to consume up to 5 discs DVD. I thought: why it takes 5 when someone told me that two he needs? I have no idea of what is the image of the system, but apparently it's much bigger than I imagined.

The reason why I'm performing this process is to remove my partition recovery, who sits there wasting space.

Is there something wrong with this program of recovery or it's?

    Hello:

I guess I was not clear...

You make restore disks with the utility making recovery disc in the menu programs.

If you have already done this, then that's all you need to do.

If you use it, then all you have to do is to insert the floppy disk 1 into your DVD player and start it.

Then you follow the prompts and insert the rest of the disks when you are prompted.

  • Laptop HP 15-f162dx: THEIR is NO OPTION of DVD FOR DVD RECOVERY DISC CREATION IN the HP RECOVERY MANAGER'S

I HAVE HP 15-f162dx NOTEBOOK PC in WHICH I AM creating RECOVERY DVD DISCS IN "HP RECOVERY MANAGER", BUT in THE "HP - CREATE RECOVERY MEDIA" IS NO OPTION TO CREATE a DVD. EARLY CLAIM.

    CONCERNING

    Ok.

I don't see that as a real issue or problem.  The ability to create a recovery media is part of the purchase, and you do not have the ability to create a recovery media.

Why don't you use the option of USB flash drive?

The USB stick recovery is higher on the recovery DVD disc in a number of ways.

    (1) a usb flash drive are not damaged by just scratching the surface, unlike the DVD in a set of recovery disks. A scratch on the side of disc label #1 and the whole is unusable.

    (2) a recovery, when from a usb flash drive takes less than an hour, so that once made with one set of recovery disks can take up to four hours.

    (3) not all DVD media can be used to create a reliable recovery DVD media.

    (4) DVD media can be easily destroyed by heat, if you live in a region of the world where the temperature is normally high.

    (5) usb recovery media creation takes less than an hour, compared to the time it would take to make a recovery of the DVD disc.
