HP Pavilion p6 desktop computer - 2317c: updated HP Pavilion p6 - 2317c Desktop PC Windows 10

Since the upgrade to the latest version 10 of Windows, the IDT Audio Control Panel will not open.  I can't find a software update that is appropriate for my office.  Any help is appreciated.

You are the very welcome.

I explored some more and I found this model which has a newer revision of the mother Jasmine card that has your PC, but it still has the same IDT 92HD73E audio chip.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04212751

The good news is that the PC has an audio driver IDT W10, so maybe that will be the case.

This package provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for assumption of office models that are running a supported operating system.

Fix and improvements

-System upgrade to Windows 10 provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver (IDT Original).

If you have Windows 8, then it has been upgraded. A system file is missing or damaged. The easy response is to back up your important files and do a full restore of the Hp system - this will eliminate completely all files and you need to reinstall your software and re-download the updates of Windows.

If you are unable to enter the Normal Mode, then try Safe Mode system restore.

    Method 1:

  • New computer with 7 installed - tried windows update and stuck saying preparation set up windows

Just bought a new Sony Vaio with windows 7 installed and went to windows updates, as they recommended. Updated and said to reboot. Now he's stuck saying prearing to set up windows. Not turned off your computer. Help please...

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

Here you need to start your computer in safe mode and do a system restore.

Start the computer in safe mode and check the number.

Follow this link provided below to start your computer in safe mode.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

You have to try to perform a system restore to go back to the work settings, to do that follow the instructions below:

    1) click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (2) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    (3) in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4) click Finish.

If you still have the problem then we will try to reset the windows update components and find the number.

You must follow the link provided below to run the fixit which will automatically fix the problem if you find problems with the fixit, then you can follow the procedure to manually reset Windows component update.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/971058

    3. Select updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. When you have finished setting options that you want, press the OK button to save these settings. You will now be at the main screen of Windows Update.

    4. in the left pane, click check for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

    5. you can then download the updates one or both.

    6. click on install updates to install updates currently selected.

    7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you get all the updates you want on your PC.

  • My computer not updated

My computer is updated automatically every day, but it has not updated at all for the past year.  When I check the updates, a message appears that says "failed" and when I look to see the list of things that try to update, they all say "failed."  When it seaches updates, a code appears which says "error" with a group of numbers after him.  Because of the computer is unable to update, I'm no longer able to print or open all Microsoft programs, such as Word or Exel.  When I try to open these programs, he told me that not to upgrade the computer could affect the stability of the computer and that I would need to go to Windows Update to install the new updates.  When I open Windows Update, it says I must first install an update from Windows Update.  I clicked on 'Install now' and he tries to install, but then just goes back to the original page.

The other night I went online to see what I could do about it.  Several Internet sites said that the problem is most likely in the catroot2 folder and change the name of this catroot2old folder could solve the problem.  I tried this and it would allow me to change the name.  Now I don't know what else to do.  Help, please!

When it seaches updates, a code appears which says "error" with a group of numbers after him.

And what are the error messages and lots of numbers after each error message?

Please also inform what your operating system is including service pack level and whether or not you have scanned for virus/malware etc.

  • Introduction of a portable computer to update

I have a laptop Toshiba 10 year which was always offline.
    It has no service pack.
I tried to plug it, but the old IE stops before that much I can do.
I have a desktop machine which is updated.
I can download on the office and write on a flash drive as a way to get software to work: that is to say first, then service packs.
(I bought a CD of Service Pack 3, but it won't install without Service Pack 1).

You need to install the standalone version of SP2 and then SP3 IE8. More details:

    1. using a work PC, download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 (beforehand) files. Download these files on a USB flash drive. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)

http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3) IN OPTION FOR YOU SINCE YOU HAVE THE CD!

(You can TOTALLY ignore the message "intended for it professionals"!)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

(You need to install IE8 AFTER SP3! Trust in me.)

And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:

    http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus

(Avast and MSE are also very good.)

    2. disconnect Internet. Also unplug all unnecessary devices.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates. To do this:

Start | Control Panel (switch to Classic view if not already selected). Automatic updates

    4. install SP2. Restart TWICE.

5 install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.

    7 install an Antivirus software.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should already be):

Start | Control Panel | Security Center

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet. Update Antivirus program.)

9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates. Restart each time you are prompted.

10 re - enable automatic updates.

I have a desktop computer with Vista business I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and install Vista on a laptop that has XP Pro but is Vista capable.

    Hello

If you use the Vista licence as part of the upgrade to Windows 7 you cannot use the license of Vista anywhere elsewhere

It is part of the upgrade process

    and also read this on licensing rules;

If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, Dell, HP, etc., or you bought an OEM/license disk, they are both classified as an OEM license and are not transferable.

The Windows OEM license is linked to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a retail Windows license, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

Hello. I installed the trial versions of 2014 CC Photoshop and Lightroom 5.6 (ie the plan of photography) on a desktop computer that I've added a new drive in Windows 7. Everything works fine BUT it's an old computer and I think he could pack up unexpectedly. These things are happening. I want to sign up for the plan of photography but I also a Windows Vista laptop, and it's old too so I can put apps on a new office and a new laptop computer, after you have already installed on my desktop. That is why three activations. Am I allowed to do? See you soon. Paul

You can't have three activations. It is simply not possible technically. If and when the time comes, just disable you / disconnect is on one of the old systems and install it on the new. If the system goes belly up, you contact support to reset your account. No need to make it more complicated than that and resist it.
