HP Pavilion p7-1012: factory reset

I try to do a factory reset on my HP pavilion p7-1012 I bought by Aaron, when I go to the system recovery I get the message "your computer does not have a recovery partition. So I tried to burn the recovery disk and it says "not found recovery Partition. How can I do to reset my pc, or I have to order the software drivers and media? Any help would be appreciated...

Uneekbrother, welcome to the forum.

It seems that the recovery partition has been removed from the car.  The System Recovery / backup / restore section for the computer should help you make this dertermination.  Here is a guide to help you order the recovery of system for computer media, if you do not find the partition.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-4100: Factory reset when Win7 was removed from the main partition

I'm preparing this old laptop for sale. I started on a USB key and erased the C: partition where Windows 7 was installed. I then he reformatted to NTFS and set it as the partition active.

When I rebooted and you press F11 to get to the system recovery, I get a message, there is no operating system on drive C.

How can I do a factory reset at this point? The recovery partition is still there, I checked, so it's good. I have the ISOs for CD recovery, but I need to burn to disc to use. Is there a way to perform a factory reset of the recovery partition, without going through the hassle of doing this? I heard that there could be an option to boot from a USB?

  • 23 all-in-One Pavilion: a Factory Reset also renews the recovery Partition?

I just did a Factory reset on my 23 all-in-One Pavilion. Previously, in the past, I had inadvertently erased the recovery disc. Fortunately, as I just discovered in the rebuilding process, I did a flash backup restore.

    (1) now that I have to order, updated to 8.1 has done that also recover this recovery on the hard disk drive.

    (2) the last time I did the flash recovery he had only windows 8. Now that I have 8.1 on that I should make a new flash with window 8.1 on this recovery?

I know that last time I did restore flash he reported that it was a matter of time. Could not do another restore backup discs or Flash after this one. So I suspect that if the recovery disc has not been restored too it does not allow me to make a new key USB recovery stick?

  • Pavilion 15-ab043sa: cannot reset to factory settings after the upgrade computer laptop brand new 10 Windows

I bought 2 new laptops, they seem to be special models not listed is not in the HP support site, purchased from Currys PC World in the United Kingdom.

First HP Pavilion 15-ab045sa laptop computer 15.6 "-red, upgraded to windows 10 perfectly well and I made a backup of the system while I studied the creation of recovery media (this info must be printed with the laptop in the box, rather than letting the user have to find BTW)."

The other a HP Pavilion 15-ab043sa laptop computer 15.6 "-blue, for my parents, has turned into a total disaster."

The two models are the same, except that the first is red and the other is blue, that's why they have different product numbers?

I was now in a position where the recovery on the D: drive partition is not a factory reset.

I did not even recovery disks as having the first one to go smoothly, I thought the same thing would happen on the second laptop and I got the recovery disc then.   I tried to create a USB stick recovery, but I had no one who can save the system settings - need at least 32 GB free.

This occurred as first I started the laptop, made of windows, MS Office 365 updates, added then waiting 2 days for windows 10 to arrive.  When it came it installed fine and then I added a printer driver for an HP printer and made some configurations of the operating system.  At the next reboot showed something was wrong as the boot took over 7 minutes.  As the synaptics app was referenced twice in the tab start Task Manager also had strange things in the system.  Rather than go back to a previous system restore point that I attempted to identify what was wrong and uninstalled all without success.  I then had the opportunity to go back to 8.1 for Windows or "reset the PC.  Not a lot of explanation on delivery to zero and certainly no warning options that the D: partition was no longer valid.  Windows options were "in my face" so I don't think watching HP recovery.  So I chose to run from Control Panel 'Reset the PC and keep the files'.  So, indeed, I now have a clean install of Windows 10 but have lost all applications that were on the factory orginal building.  I see no way to re - install all of these programs and find the license keys.  I have more HP recovery at all.

So I have no way to put the blue doesn't return to the factory settings.

Advice please, I want a laptop blue, the same as the red, i.e. Windows 10 with all applications that have come to the factory as well as the correct printer drivers and a time of less than 30 seconds of starting.

You are not sure if there is anything I can copy from red to blue to get it going again?

Any help gratefully appreciated, thank you

Thanks for any help on this.

I would like to add that I can see on both screens only on screen cracked that I can't see the bottom of it due to cracking. • Pavilion 6b50ei: try to factory reset but the recovery partition/drives created are defective

I have a pavilion dv7-6b50ei notebook pc purchased 2012. He always gives a command prompt pop up who don't stay long enough to read. I felt too there is a virus on it that my anti-virus did not solve so I tried the factory reset, but when I restart and press F11 it gives an error (something like a boot... is missing). so I tried my recovery disks. CD 1 of 4 ran fine but disk 2 continues to stop with an error. Now, the laptop will not charge because I think that the operating system was formatted during the recovery and do not know what to do. I feel disc 2 is bad too because he also gave an error trying to copy on a USB key. I also tried an external dvd and run the hp hard disk test; the hard drive passed the test. If I can get a new set of recovery discs, it would solve my problem. In addition, I look forward to ideas. Help, please.

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can still read all the key character product activation 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • How long HP Pavilion G6 2320 need to factory reset

    Hello

I have the HP Pavilion G6-2320TX laptop with 1 TB of HDD.

My machine is a month old.

Initially, my laptop took 15 or more minutes to start. WiFi and bluetooth didn't work. Takes too much time to install windows updates.

After searching this forum, I decided to factory reset using the hp Recovery Manager.

Spent 4 hours and the screen displays "reset your PC (25%). ».

I want to know how long does take for the complete factory reset? I'm a little worried because here in my region loadshedding is a problem.

    Help, please.

I've seen reports of recovery taking a night or more to complete. but I've never had it take more than a few hours. If you lose power I hope the battery will carry you through.

BTW, the questions declare you which led to the recovery can be a sign of hardware failure, usually disk or sometimes the memory. This could also lead to recovery fails. I suggest to use F2 to power on to use Diagnostics to test your hard drive and memory if the recovery fails, or if the recovery ends and you still have performance problems.

  • Pavilion DV6 - Freaky blockages, probs even after factory reset

I have a machine that currently gives me fits customers...

It's a Pavillion DV6, specifically a M6-1045dx.  He got 8G of RAM and the HARD drive is full of barely 10%.  When I got the machine, he would refuse to run some executable files (most had IE) and anything requiring a UAC elevation cause the application is high (command prompt, Task Manager, etc.) to lock.  Scanned with MS Sec Essentials and spybot... even out the hard drive and scanned with AVG in another PC of office... None of them can find nothing.  I noticed that after I let it sit for a while (30-45 minutes), it gives an error and say a few words about support assistant having to close.  I tried to close all the HP services, but nothing helped.  CHKDSK /F does not give any errors, and the BIOS HP diags gave a certificate of good health.  I couldn't "show processes from all users" in the Task Manager (Task Manager would freeze whenever I tried).  In addition, the system seems to work fine in SafeMode w/network.

I finally lifted my hands and did a reset (Note: I don't have the minimal reset).  Who took most of the night running.  Then, I made a full round of microsoft updates.  Note that the system was very well throughout the reconstruction process.  Then I restored the owners (1 piece of court reporter software) applications and some data (especially text files and audio files of deposits).  The system ran fine for another 5 boots - two hours.   The last thing I did was to install MS Security Essentials... and he gave me a certificate of good health after update.   I closed the thing and and let stand until the customer arrived there.   The minute that I pulled up, he began to show the same signs as before the factory reset.

Support Assistant does not start... it's welcome screen just sitting there.  Internet Exlporer will start or the other.  If put in place processes in the Task Manager and click on 'view of the processes for all users', the Task Manager is locked in.  Command prompt oneself too if you do a "run as Administrator".   The owner tells me that if you let the machine sitting (when running) for 30-45 minutes, which will be suddenly started working.   Since then, I tried Kaspersky TDSSKiller to see if it was a rootkit, but he did not find anything there either.

Anyone encountered this before?  Is there something that I need to update, re - install or uninstall?

    Thank you!

    Mike

If anyone knows this, it seems that it is a Microsoft Update that threw a wrench in the works.  After a 3rd plant, he went through a whole series of updates, then failed on the last series of 8 or more.   I did a system restore and looked at the 3 updates... do a search on all of their numbers.  Of course, there are a ton of develops griping on KB2870699, alias, "Cumulative security for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 X 64 systems based on.   Delete this update, or run system restore and it réécrirait where it was before you ran it.  I hope this helps some other poor soul avoid the epic hassle he put me in...

  • HP pavilion touchsmart 15: wireless issues after factory reset.

I had a cell phone of a close and factory reset it then, I encountered a problem with the wireless internet. At this point and the pc was windows 8 then I WAITED for some messages I had run through a stated that they had there problem solved by going to 8.1 so I did and updated, the problem persisted (at this point, I've abandoned troubleshooting on the laptop and went to my Tablet and searched there) then I found a hp here similar to my dellima post , but with a different model, so I followed the steps but fill the egg whites with the model I use SLIGHTLY the problem better now, he died but not so often. nothing else in the network goes off, and I tested it on that the same thing happened at a friend's House.  (I spent 12 hours Googling for answers HELP)

    Hi there @Jeremy169,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I saw your post on the Forums of HP Support. If I understand your message that you have a problem with the wireless Internet is intermittent.

Do you by chance have Bluetooth? Is it on?

I found some material that you can use to troubleshoot wireless problems you encounter.

The first document that I found for you is called using Automated Troubleshooting (Windows 10: 8). This document describes how to use the troubleshooting tools automated in Windows. These tools use a combination of installed applications and online detect and resolve many computer problems, such as problems with networking, system performance and hardware devices. Although automated troubleshooting cannot find and fix all the problems, it is a useful tool which can often save you time and effort.

The second document, I found for you is called troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 8). The steps described in this document provide the tools that were found to be useful in solving many problems that can occur with wireless network connections and the Internet.

The reason why I asked you about Bluetooth technology is because I found a document called intermittent Wireless connection with Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230 and Advanced - N 6235 Bluetooth Combo Wireless Modules (Microsoft Windows 8).

Please follow these troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went.

    Thank you!

    Have a great day!

  • Laptop HP Pavilion 14: try to reset the password Windows 10

I recently bought a new laptop HP Pavilion Notebook 14 and in the initial configuration, created an account and a password but did not create a password reset disk, an administrator account, or an alternative setting for logon. I am also not registered with Microsoft so you cannot change the password in this way.

I've seen instructions on downloading ISO software and trying to boot via USB key, but none of the command prompt so far work. I tried F9, F10, F2, F6, etc all on their own or by pressing ESC first. Is there another way to recover the password? Otherwise, given that nothing has been put in place on the hard drive and yet, it would be easier to default to the factory settings? And if so, what is the best way to proceed?
