HP Pavilion p7-1026 b: parallel port

I recently bought this computer used for a CNC machine by computer I am building. I need to install a parallel port so that it works correctly.

I bought this port parallel http://www.pmdx.com/2PARPCI , and it does not seem to adapt to any location. He really did give me 2 ports.  Can you advise me on which one to buy. Or an adapter to make this one work. Looking at the pins on the motherboard of the PC it seems that the slot is back on the mother. Or the notch is on the wrong end.

Thank you for your valuable time.

You are the very welcome.

Unfortunately, I have never installed one myself.  All my HP computer business came with parallel port cards.

I take one in the list I posted and get the best market with the best / most of the critics.

Wireless... I do not use the internal wireless cards.  Had too many problems with them.

I use this external dual-band USB wireless network adapter on my HP 3 business desktop PC.  Works fine on W7 - W10.

I used the W7 drivers that come with the disc for the W10.

  • How to install a printer port parallel port Pavilion dv5 Notebook usb

When trying to install my printer HP DeskJet 610C Parallel Port on my HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit, I followed the instructions given by the HP Support about two years back.

I connected the two devices with a parallel port cable / USB. The PC loaded and confirmed the correct driver. (On the advice of sites on the Internet, I made repeated attempts to install the printer carefully, to no avail).

Then my deliverance, the Print, the printer statement invariably prints two copies of what appears to be "gibberish" in two lines at the beginning of the worksheet. Subsequently, she picks up and ejects then 6-8 sheets of white paper.

Any help to resolve this abnormal situation will be welcome and appreciated.

I would add that the printer works normally when connected in parallel to an old Notebook Compaq Armada 1750 (XP OS). In this case also, the parallel/USB worked as in the PC Pavilion, above.

    Hi khalidem,

Looks like you have a communication problem with the cables from the printer. Have you tried a new parallel to USB cable or adapter?

  • PCI Parallel Port

Hello! I hope someone can help me getting the card referenced above to work. I have a Pavilion a6250z that came with no parallel port. I installed a Moschip 9805 card in a PCI slot and the pc has seen and installed and it is displayed in the Device Manager. No conflict or error codes. However, when I connect it I get nothing! I am running Vista Home Premium 32. The manufacturer says it should work. This isn't. Thanks in advance.

I don't like to admit this, but I finally got my card and interface JP1 works with the help of a person on the forums of JP1. It was simple it's embarrassing! All I had to do was enter the first alphanumeric value in the tab "resources" for the port in the address box hex interface JP1. Voila! Facing up and running. My face is red!

  • Re: Tecra M11 - 15W - Parallel Port LPT1, not found in Device Manager

    Hello

I have Tecra M11 with PA3680E-1PRP Docking Station. BIOS Version 2.9.

Problem is, I want to use the Parallel Port LPT 1, but in anchorage additive dosent device manager there.

    Thanks much for the tips

    Hey Buddy,

What device is connected to the LPT1 port? Usually if you connect a device to LPT port and you turn on you will be asked for drivers. AFAIK the LPT device drivers must be installed before connect you.

Several years ago I also used LPT connection for my printer but one day it didn't work. The problem was only a defective cable. I replaced it with a new one, and then the connection to the printer has been recognized again correctly! :)

  • parallel port does not have the protection key

I just bought a terca M2. When I try to install a software that uses a hardware key (small connector in the parallel port) I get the message that he found no protection key. I have installed this software on other laptops (also with xp pro) and they are all worked well.
I also tried two parallel port settings, but it still does not work.

Please help me solve this problem, otherwise, this laptop will be useless to me.

    Hi robert,.

have you checked that the chip set driver in Device Manager? As far as I know the parallel port is controlled by the entire ship!

Have you checked if the parallel port in your M2 works without any problem (for example, a parallel printer) to exclude a defect of material! If there is a material defects you might bring the laptop to a Toshiba service for a short health check partner!

  • Parallel port has stopped working on my A30

I have an A30 with Win XP pro sp2. Recently disappeared from my DVD player and also my printer has stopped working. I reinstalled DVD Tosh tools and it is now working again, but I am unable to get the parallel port works again. I have it active in the Bios (worm 180.) and also in the control panel. He started to drive me crazy.
Is there a tool to test the Lpt1 port or someone else has found a solution to this problem?

    Hello

If does not work reinstall the drivers, I think you should try to recover the entire system. But don't forget to backup your important data. Sorry I can't give you better advice.

  • HASP dongle (parallel port) on the A100-906 Satellite connection

I need to work with Solid Works software. It is protected with HASP dongle which should be connected to the parallel port (printer port). But there is no such port on my Satellite.

    What can I do?

Several ideas of spring in mind:
-try to get your software vendor to replace your dongle with a USB version (possibly you will get a free)
-get a parallel converter cable / usb (not guaranteed)
-get a parallel PCMCIA card (a bit expensive...)

  • Satellite M60: Need a parallel port to connect the Iomega Zip drive

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite M60 and I want to transfer files from my Iomega Zip drive.
My laptop is not has a paraller port, so I bought a converter to operate, but there was no result.

Is anyone of you know how to solve the problem and finally reach my driver ZIP of my Satellite in order to transfer files?
    Do I need another converter?

If so, when is? Or do I have to buy a PCI card with paraller port?

    Any response will be appraciated

    thanx

    Hello

I've never used a converter USB / parallel but a USB-to-serial port converter and I had very bad experience of such pieces of witch.
AFAIK this adapters don't work properly.

Therefore, your suggestion is not bad to use the PCMCIA card with a parallel port.

Check first of all in your user manual what cards are compatible, then you can try to use this card.

I think it would be the best solution to connect your Iomega Zip drive to the M60 laptop.

  • Satellite A200: How to connect a parallel port printer?

Probably a very stupid question, but I would like to connect laptop series A200 on a parallel port printer that does not have a USB port... What is the best option?

    Hello

    You ask the best way?
Well, you have only one way?

You need an adapter USB to parallel. Check in google for certain offers.
I searched in google and found some good options.

    Perhaps this might be a good choice;

  • Tecra M2 parallel port disabled

I have a laptop series Tecra M2, which signals that it is run ACPI BIOS version 1.4
I have installed Kubuntu (previously 7.10 now 8.04). I'm unable to print via the parallel port. If I go into the bios port is shown as disabled I can activate, save a boot, and then I am able to print. The problem is, the next time I start the computer, the bios forgot I activated the parallel port and I can print is no longer.
As it is a bit of a pain to have to enter the bios, every time that I think I might want to print, does anyone know how to paste changes to bios?

Since your laptop is a Toshiba BIOS on this subject, how you to leave? Just by pressing ESC?
If I remember correctly, you said the BIOS to save the settings, and it might be the HOME or END key. Don't know exactly, but for sure, you must save it explicit.

    Go and check it out.

  • Use of the parallel port

    Hello

I have a lot of experience with earlier versions of Dasylab (up to V9) and recall his ability to use the parallel port of PC as a "quick & easy" way to get digital input/output lines of the PC. If my memory serves me well, done by activating the sound card driver?

However, I recently bought the latest version (V13) and it seems the digital input / output modules are now grayed out when the sound card driver is selected, i.e., it only allows to input/output analog (audio).

Is it still possible to drive this port with the latest digital lines... .or have I missed something?

    Thank you best regards &,.

This feature has been removed a few versions ago. With the changes in Windows after XP, it became problematic.

If you are still using XP with DASYLab 13 and will always have a parallel port, you can retrieve the V9 sound card driver and try it.

If you need me to download it or email it to you (it is usually an illegal attachment), let me know by private message with your email address.

  • The use of pins of status (4 outputs) and data (8 entries) of the parallel port pins at the same time.

    Hi all

I'm a newbee in labview. As part of my project work, I need to get 8 digital inputs and send 4 digital outputs.so I think to use the Parallel Port on the pc.i can make use of 8 datalines for entries. I found the site NOR is it possible to use status for output pins. But is it possible to use status for output pins pins and data for entries to the time.please help even me also mention of the measures to take, or keep in mind while implementing.also include any example vi that could be useful.

    Thanks in advance

I would recommed you to NOT use the parallel port. Now a day you have hardly a PC with parallel port. also if you have some old PC then most likely last version of LabVIEW (e.g. 2010) will need a lot more memory RAM and processor.

If you want a solution very very low cost then I would recommend using an arduino to that effect. You can then download LabVIEW Interface for Arduino and start working.

If you continue to use the parallel port, then you could try (I haven't worked with parallel port and have not tested the following solutions)

Download VIPM and then install the enclosed package. It will add the port e/s palette in your labview. and you can use it.
