Windows Defender has been uninstalled but still runs without access to turn off the screen.

Prevents the update for Windows Pro 15 in 1

To correct the Defender, then turn off properly:

If you do not have a DVD of Microsoft Vista, borrow one from a friend.

  • Pavilion g6-1165 his: the fan runs almost constantly

Hello. My fan turns quite continuously. I just installed a new HARD drive and the data is restored. I remember I had this problem some time ago and I cured it by updating the BIOS. This time, I have updated drivers up-to-date and don't get any yellow excalmation point on Device Manager. I've updated the BIOS. I looked at the openings on the underside, and they have clear air. I went into the Task Manager and stop any program that shows the use of the processor (like chrome) and it is still ongoing. The air coming out feels quite warm. I took it outside to see if a burst of cold air he'd stop, but that did not work. I don't really want to disassembly to clean the ventilation openings when they have clear air from the outside. Any help much appreciated woiuld. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your answer. It seems that there is dust of vision when I blew air compressed as described on the HP website a large amount is released. The fan has kept silent since. Thank you once again. Problem solved.

  • After a fan failure, Windows is unable to turn off the fan?

My Dell laptop is more than a year and out of warranty, so I was pretty shocked when my brother took an air can to the exhaust port and overspun fan and caused his failure. I bought a fan of alternative qualified from Dell and installed with Arctic Silver costs. However, even with the new fan, he would never turn up. I was looking at the temperatures to pull it up and and eventually shut down the system without even a glance of the fan. I even pulled the fan back out and double checked to make sure that the fan would turn with the applied force (I am an EE, food is very fine-adjustable). He does.

I can control the fan with a 3rd party, i8kfan program. Problem is, the driver is not signed digitally, so it occasionally fails or it shuts down randomly.

So, how does this apply to Windows? Well, as Dell technical support doesn't help if you are no longer under warranty, they don't tell me this - here are the fan control strictly controlled windows, strictly the BIOS or a combination of both? I was wondering if the problem threw a flag in Windows or the BIOS can't disable or something. I see nothing on the fans in my BIOS (another failure on part Dells - shitty BIOS), so I hope there is something small, buried in the windows that might help.

I have no problem using the 3rd party controls. In most cases, this works very well. But there are moments when, particularly under heavy load, the program gets a lower priority, and fan just stops. In addition, the signed drivers beyond boring thing. As a little advanced Windows user, I'd love it if it could be disabled permanently instead of having to switch off whenever I start.

My college got hooked me with a copy of 7, but I was saving it for my office that I'm building. I think that if this is a Windows problem, I'll just reformat this thing at 7 until I get my desktop built, and if all goes well, that will fix problems with fan. Also, I think I still have the Vista disc to this thing also, that's an option. If reinstalling Windows can solve this problem, I will def do this. I don't want to waste time to reformat if it does not solve the problem.

    Thanks for the comments!

    Hi Matt k,

Fear you must contact Dell technical support as seems to be a hardware problem.

  • just run update on Thunderbird and it said that it would turn off my Antivirus ESET because he couldn't find an add-on.

I don't want my disabled ESET Antivirus

After an update to Thunderbird or Firefox, the message might state version of the Extensions you have installed is not compatible with the new version. He never says it will disable clients completely separate antivirus that has provided these extensions. Check if ESET has updated versions of their extension.

  • Tecra A10 - S3501 Power blinks, fan runs full speed.

    Welcome all,

I have a clients Tecra in the shop, and after having received a good description of what was going on at the tme of failure, I still can't understand it. She was watching a flash video when it froze. On reboot, it will not init the LCD, it seems at least partially POST, the CD spins, and all LCD screens blink as usual. Still no init LCD and the power light flashes green, without cause, is not a binary led post code. The fan runs at full speed directly and remained there for the duration. I counted 20 a second flashing with the fan at full speed, before you turn off the power. Any ideas? Customer has no guarantee, so would be good remedy for her. :-) Thank you and have a nice day.

    Hello

Simply said the screen is blank when snaps for laptop and you can not see anything
You are able to access the BIOS?
Press ESC, then press F1 to access the BIOS

I also recommend to connect an external monitor to check if something would be visible on the second screen.
Otherwise I think that it s a screen hardware problem or GPU

You must open the Windows disk management console, then format the drive for use in the system.  You can find more information on this process here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-format-hard-disk-partition#create-format-hard-disk-partition=windows-7

  • Processor and fun of rear cooling fan runs at full speed on Pavilion HPE h8-1120it

Hello, since yesterday when I turned on my HPE h8-1120it HP Pavilion the CPU fan and rear fun cooling are always rotating at high speed, and they never stop. I have nothing no hardware changes, no change in software. Two days I will I work all day without problem, I turn off as usual the PC, I'm going to bed and then yesterday morning I turned on and now I have this problem. The PC is brand new (I bougth it about 1 month ago). There is no problem of temperature (now I 19 ° C on my computer room).

Read another similar post I figured might be a bios problem. The version of the bios is 7.11, I tried to see if there is an update of canno't ' t there, but I find an update of the bios for Pavilion HPE h8-1120it.

I burned a CD with the hardware HP Vision Diagnostic and I run the pleasure of tests and they all passes. During these tests, the pleasure seem to achieve the right speed in the progress of the test.

I noticed this strange thing: when I bought the PC I immediately activated in the bios the use of VT to use hardeware virtualization with VMWare player. Yesterday, I found this setting changed and disabled and it's very strange because I did not change the values in the bios.

What can I do? The noise of the fans at full speed is impressive, that I can't work on these conditions!

    Thank you

    Davide Angeli

    Hello

There are not many fans rated at 4 000 rpm. With this type of fan RPM coupled with your observation that VT missing then your PC seems to have a problem.

Maybe it's time to contact the HP Support.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

  • HP Pavilion g7-2240us Notebook: fan run continuously?

I took my laptop yesterday after he had the replacement hard drive.  I've been setting up since and I noticed that the fan turns off ever.  I don't remember what is the case of the previous two years.         Is it OK?  Here is a way disable manually?   What should I do?

It should run all the time to avoid the accumulation of heat, but not 100%.  Change your profile settings to yield power or Power saver.

After the restart, the fan on my PC very strong rotates every 30 seconds or so for about 15 seconds then turns off; sometimes even more frequently. It's never happened before. Anyway I can fix this or go back to the old BIOS or something?

Then I opened my PC and went home with a feather duster and a vacuum. This ended the problem.

  • the fan runs full speed at the beginning upward

HP Pavilion p6-2037cb bought 19/01/12.  Windows 7.  There is no error message.

When I turn on the computer after it has stopped all night the fan running at full speed.  This has happened several times in the first month.  The first time, he stopped himself after a few minutes.  Then I learned to stop it by restarting the computer simply.  It still works, but what was once happen one or two times a month, happened twice in two days then you worry I the problem worsens.

It never happens when I use the computer because I don't do anything that requires a lot of cpu or causes a warm-up.  I just surf the web and send e-mail.  No games or videos or TV.

If it's a problem of connection fan I would like to know the nearest repair service.  I would rather that ship it.  But I can't find a list of authorized warranty repair service center.  I followed the links on HP Support Assistant but got sent to a site that does not list the pavilions.

I need to know why the fan runs full speed at first upward and where to repair close to where I live.

  • Computer of my computer fan runs constantly?

My computer is a HP Pavilion dv4-1123us Entertainment Notebook Pc. whenever I use any program that increases computer around 40% CPU usage, the fan begins to operate constantly a little noise to very loud noise. I thought that its caused by a program so I bought recovery disks to restore the original computer to a factory State. Although I tried, it does not help at all. I also though it is because of the Bios so I put that too far. I didn't know that at all when I bought it, but I lived after several months. Is it because of the Chipset Intel when I forgot to install and when the laptop has been very hot? Is it because of the Bios because I've updated it evil? Please help me to solve it.

the fan of your computer is constantly running to cool the cpu and it is normal so he can increase his speed, your fan should work slowly even increases the number of laps. But if you hear a noise level of the fan, I think that there is something wrong with it. I suggest to you allows you to check the fan if it is coming in contact with anything whatsoever. If the fan is visible while your laptop is running, you can see to know what is actually happening. I do not know what type of fan hp uses on their laptops, is perhaps something loose already on the fan to better check or bring it to an hp service center.

  • The fan runs with heat bad open case sensor?

I have a HP Pavilion 670 y. I have a fan that works for long periods of time and then stops then starts again.  I decided to run my computer with the case open to make sure which fan was working before you buy a new power supply, if it is the fan.  Found that it was the lower cone. The fan has fewer stops and starts with the case open but still has periods where it runs for a few minutes and then stops and starts.  Since I was the case to open I don't see how the computer could be overhaeting.  Would it be a bad heat sensor?  If it's the heat sensor can be replaced or is it wired?

I ended up realizing that there was still a lot of dust on the fan plugged into the motherboard.  I gave that a good cleaning and that solved the problem.
