HP Pavilion p7 - 1519c: compatibility of the Gtx 960 in a Hp Pavilion p7 - 1519c

A friend of mine was looking for a put a new power supply and a 960 6.8 inch gtx graphics card in its current PC (Hp Pavilion p7 - 1519c). We are a bit concerned after reading this thread:

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware/Pavilion-HPE-H8-1075uk-can-I-run-a-GTX-960-on-the-IPIS...

We believe that his computer was purchased around mid 2013 (late June). We wondered if this can possibly be a problem. Two other problems, we have considered are the need for a new power supply and cooling of questions possible. Is there anything else we should be weary of? Are there other other concerns?

Thank you for your time!

Rumils, welcome to the forum.

First of all, the link you provided does not work.

Your computer has UEFI and the 960 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard.  However, you will need a new power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 300W.  The GTX 960 requires a minimum of 400 w to work properly.  It may also be too long to fit in the space provided.  Although I have had members say he did not.

To save you a lot of problems, I suggest you contact the Technical Support of the manufacturer to ensure it will work with your computer.

    Hirurgrrr, welcome to the forum.

The problem you are experiencing is caused by the fact that the GTX 960 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The last series of video cards that does not need UEFI is the GT 640.

  • For the Ultra HD / 4K / HEVC / H.265 video editing: GTX 960 or 980 Ti GTX?

How is it important to have a hardware video-enabled-decoding card?

I am deciding to buy GTX 960 or 980 it GTX for Ultra HD video editing.

The GTX 960 uses GM206 which has only 2 GB of memory, but includes based video decoding hardware.

The GTX 980 it uses GM200 which includes NO video decoding, but has 6 GB of memory and the together better statistics:

    www.Game-Debate.com/GPU/index.php?gid=2935 & gid2 = 2813 compare=GeForce-GTX-980-TI-6GB-vs-GE force-gtx-960-2 GB - sli

For games, the GTX 980 it is 'extremely better' than the 960 GTX:

    http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-960/3439vs3165

Therefore, not for games, but for ultra HD video rendering, compatible more than make up for the worst overall performance hardware decoding?

From a web forum: "only the GPU GM206 used in the GTX 960 supports full FIXED material HEVC decoding function. The GM200 used in the GTX 980 Ti and Titan X didn't, and the GM204 used in the GTX 970/980 also does not. »

From a site of the magazine: 'we tested different video files on a GTX 960 H.265. Reading has been impeccable for each and every one of them, with only negligible CPU load, which means that they were handled entirely by the GPU. Reading files Ultra HD H.265 revealed no problem either. »

Would the Ti 980 provide also "impeccable" reading of files of the Ultra HD H.265, even without hardware compatible decoding?

Also, perhaps more fundamentally, the 960 even manages Ultra HD? From another site: "If you want to enjoy 4K game, then you will need to invest in a more expensive GPU Setup. For NVIDIA, the choice users clear right now is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti. »

Because I need to return and then read on the computer I see huge video projects, do I need, more memory/hearts (980 Ti) or hardware compatible decoding (960)?

    Thank you!

Material HEVC decoding/encoding is not supported in Premiere Pro, so that "advantage" is questionable.

  • GTX 960 or 970 with AMD FX 8150?

    Hello people

    My current system specs:

    AMD FX 8150

    Gigabyte 990XA UD3, 16 GB 1333 MHz RAM

SSD Intel 160 GB, 2 TB WD Black

    NVIDIA GTX 550ti

I intend to upgrade the graphics card for this system, the current 550ti is a very reliable companion for me in recent years but he stutters now. So I need advice from you guys about the upgrade. I mean with my CPU will there be a performance difference significant between 960 and 970 (two variants of 4 GB)? My workflow includes Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Davinci Resolve with 1080 p and 4K images.

Answer with real-world data would be appreciated.

    Thank you

the two cards must be several times faster than the gtx 550 ti. the 970 gtx is maybe 40-50% + faster than the gtx 960. the gtx 960 would be good for adobe, except speedgrade software. DaVinci resolve depends more on the gpu and should do better with the gtx 970. color adjustments you make to solve, as the gpu will be used and replace the processor as the bottleneck. If you do not much settings or use of effects like NR or sharpen etc., there is a small chance the gtx 960 4 GB just might be sufficient.

  • GTX 960 Compatible After Effect

My friend (s) want to upgrade the GPU ( GTX GTX 760 or GTX 560 960 ()especially the GTX 960).
He will be learn After Effects and many other video editing.
But many said the 9xx series GTX is not compatible with the After Effects, especially ray Traced. e (Discussion / post of 2015)
But now is 2016, if these questions still stay?
Et is there any in addition to other means Ray The route?
    Sorry for my bad English.

The 960 GTX. It is newer, faster and better.

The list you are looking at is for cards that have been tested for the acceleration of the converter drawn with RADIUS. New versions of AE can use maps not tested for that, just check a box in preferences to use cards that have not been tested (they have just yet to a certain class of NVIDIA cards). However, the ray-traced rendering engine is a deprecated feature. Now that After Effects comes with cinema 4 D Lite included, we have a much more effective way of creating 3d in After Effects. I don't know of anyone using the ray-traced rendering engine more.

  • 760 GTX vs GTX 960... stick or twist?

Have done pretty well in my mind up on this, but for a sanity check, thought I would ask here for those who know.

I have a couple of PNY GTX 760 purchased just before Christmas at a cracking price. The plan is / was that they want to go in a couple of Dell T5810 I am about to install for a next project (Xeon 1620v3, 16 GB RAM, SSD 2 x 256-2133). I saw that the GTX 960 are now on the market, so should I return the 760's and upgrade to the 960's for a cost of about £40 (ish) by card, or stick with the 760 GTX because they are a solid card, which, from my understanding, is a very good balance with the rest of the system?

I already have 3 versions of hexagonal base of these systems operating with GTX 970 and have been very happy with them, but I know newer is not always better. There was limited reference points for GTX 960's (that I could find anyway), and they are mostly associated with games. I've seen some chatter around that fact that he is not a great leap forward on the 760 GTX, but how that translates to sue with Adobe and especially creative and Media Encoder? On the paper where the 760 has 256 - bit with a bunch of 192,2 Gbps memory bandwidth 960 is 128 bits with 112 GB/s. I know that Maxwell on more than Kepler improvements place for these stats through the end cards above, but put aside from the low power draw and heat it would really help in this case?

Then, stick or twist? My current thinking is stick with the 760's, because it is not worth the extra £'s.

Thanks in advance for all comments.

Well the GTX with several processors cores 1152 1024 and more than 760 band 192 against 112 GB/sec memory bandwidth make the 760 GTX a CURRENT winner.  If you are thinking to the future and you want HDMI 2.0 for future use, then go with the 960 GTX, but HDMI 2.0 involves 4K video and or card is well equipped in the 4K process.

  • X 51 R2: upgrade to GTX 960 worth?

    Hello!

I am running a 270 R9 GPU in my new X 51 R2 (i7). It is worth the upgrade to a GTX 960? Take a look at gpuboss.com, the R9 270 gets 6.5 points, while the GTX 960 gets 7.1. This doesn't seem to be a big gap... now I wonder if it's woth the 200 euros.

I know that some people managed to upgrade to a GTX 970, but this card is still a little too expensice in my opinion.

Thank you & have a nice day.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't make the jump.
If the R9 270 x already has the same amount of video memory, I would stick with that one.
the GTX 970 is a great upgrade. But those EUR 200 make me think twice as well.

With respect to the speed and the virtual memory of treatment that they are not that far apart. So, no. Personally, I wouldn't go with the upgrade.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c: black screen of death because of the new graphics card (EVGA geforce gtx 960)

I just bought a new card (EVGA geforce gtx 960) to kick some butt. But during installation, it seems to be held on a black screen of death? Not the most fun to see... in any case, I had asked the store clerk if it would work and he said to, but it doesn't seem like it does... Is there a new BIOS I should download or something? Any help would be nice...:.

My computer is a HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c

The graphics card is an EVGA geforce gtx 960

If you have both. You can use one or. PIN 8 can be used as a 6 pin as well.

    http://www.EVGA.com/products/ProductList.aspx?type=0 & Family = GeForce + 900 + Series + Family & Chipset = GTX + 960

2 smaller cards use a single PIN 6. The rest use a single 8 pin.

  • Pavilion HPE h8-1075uk can I run a gtx 960 on the IPISB-CH2 (Chicago)?

Hi, I was looking to upgrade the gtx 550 Ti to the ssc of evga gtx 960, please notify?

    Hello

I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the graphics card for redress.  Maybe they have a NVIDIA GTX 960 with a level lower vios BIOS or maybe they are going to exchange it for a GTX 660.

Your situation is not unusual as there are a number of positions on this forum where the NVIDIA GTX 9xx series would not work in many old HP PC.  With a few exceptions, the graphic cards of NVIDIA GTX 9xx series would not work in HP PC consumer placed on the market before the 01/10/2012.

How to get Firefox to check the compatibility of the add-on first, then ask me if I want to continue the update of Firefox? The update process currently only told me that an add-on has been disable after you apply the update to Firefox. Options > Advanced Options > switch to the update tab, "Warn me if this turns off one of my modules," doesn't seem to work.

    delores51

This is an add-on that does this.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/

More specifically, what modules are always appear as incompatible after a Firefox updated? Firefox 10, extensions that are made properly shouldn't be a problem, with a few exceptions.

Extension that contains a binary code must be compiled for each new version of Firefox. These modules are usually installed by applications on security Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc..

  • HP Pavilion h8-1132sc: Geforce GTX 960 works do not with h8-1132sc model? (BIOS?)

    Hey.

I just bought a new graphics card (Geforce GTX 960) for my computer. After replacing my old and my pc startup, I'm stuck at the blue HP screen, with 1 beep and then 3 beeps and nothing happens.

I can google myself to, many people speak the BIOS (I upgraded to 7.12), but it still does not...

    Anyone?

    Taxbo, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is, the 960 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the BIOS in the UEFI.  The last video cards that does not need UEFI are the GT of 640.

  • Change the GTX 660 stock cooler & fan on a H8-1151eo desktop PC

    Hello

Just bought a PC desktop H8-1511eo a few days ago. Early on, the fan on the 660 GTX running notiably high speed and very noisy. Not noisy as broken, but as the * bleep * thing was trying to extinguish a fire

Should the fan on the GTX speed automatically set according to the time GPU (29 C @ idle), or what? However, it seems that it is RPM max all the time (1700rmp - utility Speedfan). Downloaded the latest NVIDIA drivers (314). It did not help. It seems that the support of doenst motherboard the possibility to adjust the fan speed, or cela it locked from Bios or something?

Any Bios Update on the h8-1151eo to control the fan speed?

And anyway, I found a rather small (119 x 94 x 51 fan / w mm) VGA cooler (A r c t I c C o o l e r) 660 GTX. Only problem is that the maximum for the cooler 120W power dissipation and energy max is around 130W GTX 660. Do you think it will be a problem? I would buy the model more large (up to 200W), but I don't know if it can be inserted inside the Tower (136 x 138 x fan / w 51 mm). Is there a list of VGA coolers that fit in the case of ATX Mid of the h8-1511eo, or can you recommend one?

    -Thank you

    Hello

It is the VBios on the video card in GTX660 that control the speed of the fan according to temperature changes, rather than the motherboard BIOS the Office.

Is your PC of office still under warranty?  For the HP product warranty status check the web page.

Your GTX video card maybe having problems. I suggest that you contact HP Total care and explain the problem.

If your office is no longer under warranty, I recommend to replace the video card. Remove the cooler on a video card is not as simple as it is to do the same thing with a motherboard CPU cooler. The video cooler on the video card GTX660 may have replaced thermal interface or the VBios updated material.

For a while, it worked fine, but recently I couldn't start my computer, then he ran the Setup repair thing and restored to an earlier point. But now it seems that all compatibility settings have above been applied not only to the program, but for the entire computer. So my wallpaper and the vista swirls and all things strange look as if they were from a previous version. How can I return the normal vista stuff?

  • The upgrade of the GTX 260 on my pc a6455d

Hi all, I want to ask if my PC can receive the size of the GTX 260 video card.

I have it will modernize as a replacement for my old GF 8400 128 MB

I asked BFGTech along its length, but I don't yet have an answer.

    Thank you

    The world is just AMAZING!

Of course there is no overload w/600W, as long as the motherboard conforms to the specifications that it should be designed to (PCIe, etc.). The type of support that said that he need a course in fundamental physics. The motherboard is powered PSU, not the PSU of pushing power to the motherboard. I could spend my old system 145W 2000W, and it wouldn't hurt. Of course, a decent graphics card will probably require an auxiliary connector, be sure to connect only.
