HP Pavilion: remove media player album art

I started Windows Media Player and clicked on my music folder.  Media Player immediately started downloading album art for all my music.  I found the setting to prevent that from happening in the future, but it's already too late for music, I cuurently.  I had previously spent hours using Media Monkey to remove all my music album art.  Now, I can't understand how to remove Media Player album art.

Hello @TwoDrummers,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I see that you want to delete the album art of the media player on your HP Pavilion laptop. I want to help you with this question.

I did some research online and came across this possible solution:

This is not a link to HP and does not contain the HP software, use at own risk.

  • Windows Media Player Album Cover Art disappeared after the installation of 11 Explorer (Windows 7)

A large part of my cover art of the album disappeared from Windows Media Player after installing Explorer 11 (using Windows 7). It's hundreds of albums and for art that was already present before installing Explorer 11. The number of albums is to manually replace the work a tedious task seriously.

It's the same thing with the installation of Explorer 10, but less than albums, so I learned to live with it. But it's now on a ridiculous on the part of the library.

Can someone tell me where the art is gone? And why?

If there is a way to replace it without doing a search for each album with missing art?

If she is still on my computer somewhere, but is no longer connected to the media player?

Where the cover of the album art in general is maintained? I can not even understand this, using my computer or go to my account to backup Carbonite.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Jamie...

Your album covers on album is in application data files and it will always be there. There is obviously a problem somewhere and it can be if you rebuild your library of wmp that the work will return. I guess you can still see the piece in the album files ok - Yes?

First of all if I should run the Fix It tool and the sfc scanner - after that restart your pc and see if anything has changed. (The scannow sfc tool will report if there are errors, it cannot fix)

Fix - download and run the tool for WMP (all problem areas)

    http://Support2.Microsoft.com/FixIt/?WA=wsignin1.0

sfc scannow - follow the instructions here.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

After making such a report and we will then rebuild your wmp library if necessary.

    Ric.

Afterthought - memory I got a screenshot of the cache of art, so here it is. It is also a "hidden" folder (you can tell by the gray look), that's why you don't find it easily!

How can I have a picture of my choice displayed when I listen to a radio station on media player?

    Hello JosephKuhn,

Windows Media Player displays the image of the radio station that you play. This is by design, and you cannot change the display picture when you play radio in windows Media Player.

  • Low quality when importing through Media Go album art

When the album art is added manually in Media Go, it is scaled to 640 x 640 and recompressed in a<150 kb="" image="" with="" 4:2.0="" chroma="">

The result seen on a smartphone with a screen high resolution range from disappointing to terrible. On the Xperia Z3 with the current application of the Walkman for example, album art is displayed on screen to 787 x 787. 640 x 640 would end up a bit soft but acceptable, but with the extreme comrpession it looks hideous.

During extraction of music FLAC or high flow MP3 or AAC, it is not essential to this work be compressed as much. When I prepare the album art I resize it to 787 x 787 and save it in the format JPEG with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, and depending on the complexity of the art and the setting of the quality, the result usually ends up range from 200 KB to 400 kB. This gives a perfectly acceptable quality to this resolution and is of a reasonable size in 2015.

I don't know why Media Go emphasizes the art of recompression in quality of phone service mid-' 00s era. But I would like the possibility to embed the original JPEG Media Go ' such what» Currently, I have to go through the music with Mp3tag to replace art. It works, but then I have to close Media Go to avoid conflicts of files.

Let the Media Go fetch worst Gracenote art still produce results.

Don't know why photos are put on the scale / compressed in a way but as you say, it's probably because of the size and compatibility for Media Go is used for many different devices. Currently I can only recommend that you use your current solution or use another software to rip your CD.

I can not play because it tells me that it has been replaced or deleted or removed. These songs are however still in my playlist. Can someone help me remove these songs in my playlist. • Windows Media Player displays only one album with the unknown artist.

    Original title: strange going ons

When I go to my music using windows Explorer, it shows a folder named unknown artists with 7 subfolders.

When I bring the windows media player, it displays only an album with an unknown artist.

When I open one of these subfolders, writing the name of the artist, but all the tracks have been listed as track 1, track 2, track... in the library, that I went to this artist's album. He entered all the information correctly. When I clicked open the location of the file that shows the location of the albums as one of the subfolders under unknow artist and all tracks as track 1...

so, how did we can list everything correctly in the library but point to incorrect information?

    Hello

What are the file format of the files shown in the subfolders of the library?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: I suggest you follow these steps and check.

You can try to clear the database of Windows Media Player.

To do this, follow these steps:

    Step 1

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. for Windows Vista: click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player , and then click OK.

    c. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Step 2

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. If you run Windows 7, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

Also note before performing the steps above, I suggest to save the songs and try the steps above.

    Method 2:

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, you can try to disable Windows Media player and then enable the feature that is as good as the uninstall and put it back. Follow the steps below to do the same.

To enable or disable the Window Media Player, follow these steps:
