HP Pavilion screen flicker

I have a P7-1054 with 6 GB of RAM... If I open a window with another thing black on it and it gets too big on the screen (too much color), the entire screen will begin to Flash.  Windows more I opened, the worse the flicker becomes... and by 'Flicker', I hear whole screen goes black and then comes back on again... like he has paint from the top down... and 'worse', I mean the paint becomes slower and slower I have open new windows.  It's in the computer, not the monitor because the mouse hangs out with each Flash.

She broke in February and HP he shipped to the factory and replaced the hard drive and CPU... It flickered a little then but was not too bad.  Then, I didn't use it much and now it is almost unusable because the flicker is so bad.

I played with resolutions and refresh, updated rates to update my video drivers... even returned to the original video drivers, just to see if there was a problem with the new drivers, but the flicker had much worse... even takes place in the stop down and the blue of the BIOS boot screens, and after you have reinstalled the new drivers Twinkle is now constant, even with a black screen with just the icons.

Not really what to do with it at this time, in addition to the replacement of components on my own and see what suits him.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere or have any ideas?

Thank you!

Tal

I installed the ATI graphics card update (as well as all the other drivers in the Manager install AMD that linking installed)... Also updated the BIOS.

Nothing else seemed to work so I switched to DVI/VGA... the VGA connection seems to be perfect so far... I guess that means that there is a hardware problem with the DVI connection.

It is not IW so I guess I either buy a new motherboard or stay with VGA... because I wanted 3 installation of the monitor, the VGA connection and a new video card will probably work for me.

Thanks for the reply.

So I have a laptop G580 which is in good condition and recently updated.

About a week and a half, I noticed that my screen flicker and would become very pixelated with color and sparkle black (I've included a photo). Usually, he would go back to normal, but occasionally, he would continue to flicker and pixelation. Move the screen does ' t affect the problem, restart sometimes helps, and I did scans of material that came back clean. (Programmes of work like nothing is wrong, it's just the screen) Nothing in my laptop seems to be brocken so I don't know what is happening.

Please help because it seems to be happenong more often!

That's what the screen would look like:

If you can find a good shop 'good reputation' that offers you a free diagnosis, that may be your best option. Usually, it's a simple solution, if it is the LCD cable. If it is the graphics card, it's more expensive, but less than the cost of a new laptop.

You can contact Lenovo directly to inquire about the warranty and if it will cover your current number before you pull the trigger on the repair.

    Good luck.

  • Yoga 2 Pro big screen flicker followed in black

    Hello

Does anyone else get this problem? I don't think it's the same screen flicker that is experienced by a few others because of problems of auto brightness...

It flashes black and then all cela turns is not responding after awhile... and although the video shows what is happening in a low light environment, I had this encounter for a beautifully lit place as well...

    Any thoughts?

I've posted a copy of what is really going on google reader.

Is this a case of problems of motherboard? I just got my laptop about 3 weeks ago.

No chance for an exchange of 1-1?

Can we go to the Intel Graphics Control Panel, press power button and then go to "on battery" tab. 'Panel auto refresh' option is enabled? If it is then disable it. This option makes the Board consumes less power, gives better battery life, but there the exact symptoms every now and then.

If you have installed Yoga graphic driver actions then download the most recent Intel, install it and turn this option off.

To install the new driver, you have to uninstall the old, otherwise it will not allow you to install a new. To uninstall it go to Device Manager, display the properties of the driver, uninstall button driver.

If this does not work then I don't know, is probably a hardware problem better trying to get a replacement.

  • Occasional screen flicker (HP Pavilion dv5-1010us)

    Greetings,

I bought my HP Pavilion dv5-1010us Entertainment pc precisely the Labor Day 2008 due to a current sale.

The screen tends to flicker in mostly white with thin bars of color (reflecting the colours that are supposed to be shown) vertical to the Center and some goes horizontal upward.

The problem arose only recently, and it appears sporadically. Sometimes he just blinks a couple seconds, then returns to normal and doesn't happen for a while. Other times, he'll almost constantly, and I don't see what I'm doing.

Also, sometimes, before or after the screen flashed, thick horizontal bars darken the screen and move up and down several times, vaguely remenisant for when you take a video of television or similar, and horizontal bars scrolling down it.

It seems to happen also only usually when a) the lapotp isn't on a resistant surface, small tremors every now and again because of the surface, and b) whenever I have tilt the screen.

Sometimes, just put the screen to another post he corrects, but most of the time, I just have to wait until it stops flashing.

I am running Vista Home Premium 64-bit,

graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 9200 M GS

in Device Manager, it says the driver is 'Generic PnP monitor', but he also says that it's the updated driver.

    (Short version)

    Specifications of the computer:

    Vista Home Premium 64-bit

    nVidia GeForce 9200 M GS

    'Generic PnP monitor' pilot

Question: Screen flickers sporadically mainly white with a few fine lines color when the laptop screen is tilted or unstable and sometimes at very random times.

    The problem only recently.

I called earlier to HP support. (Sometimes at the begginning of the month).

There was nothing that they could do over the phone, so they sent me a box on 2 days shipping from FedEx.

Got the box and sent my laptop. They received it the 7 and 8 sent using FedEx. I got it on the 10th.

From what I can tell, it's a brand new screen. The top of my laptop (the back of the monitor) had a few minor and cosmetic scratches in the surface of the it normal wear and tear when I sent it. When I got the laptop repaired, there is a movie on top of the laptop (the back of the screen). I peeled off the power, and there is no scratches whatsoever.

Certainly it's even portable, although (my touchpad has a few marks on it, too, normal wear and tear.) I often use this machine. ). Therefore, a new screen.

The left side is also is no longer loose at all, and it works exactly as it should.

I used every day since I got back and have had no problems or issues at all the.

The only solution seems to be to send in, unfortunately. On the positive side, however, it only took about 7 business days after I got out the phone with them for me to have the back already.

I called on a Tuesday evening has obtained the box this Thursday evening when I'm off work, he left FedEx on Friday, they got it on the following Tuesday, and he had fixed and shipped Wednesday, for me to have received this Friday.

In short, it is a pity that the screen stopped working properly, it was not too scary to little more than a week without it.

  • Dv6-3131TX screen flicker

I recently bought a HP Pavilion Dv6-3131TX laptop and it was fine at all at first, but after a week or so my eyes started to hurt if I have been on it for more than 10 minutes. I realized there is a light flicker on the screen. In my view, that he can have something to do with the refresh rate, although I'm not completely sure.

    Here are my specs:

    • Core i5 2.53 GHz 460 M
    • ATI Radeon HD5650 1 GB
    • 15.6 with resolution 1366 x 768
    • Graphics driver is up to date (Version 8.771.1.0)
    • Windows 7 64-bit (SP1)

    Further information can be given.

This sounds like a problem with the resolution or refresh rate, or is the defective screen?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

LCDs should have really no flickering at all pixels do not physically turn and outside, that's why the refresh rate is not a factor as it allows to be with older CRT monitors - most laptop LCD screens display a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

As you are getting a flickering effect and given that your laptop is under warranty, I would contact HP for it to be looked at.  You can contact HP about this here.

  • Satellite C855 - 29 the screen flicker becomes constant

I wonder if someone could give me some tips about the foregoing.

During the last two weeks my laptop screen was flicker - colored lines transiting via the page until they get darker and darker. It seems to stop or slow down if I move the laptop (usually at the back) Although lately, it will go completely black.

I have the laptop put in place for the automatic stop when I shut the lid and the only solution when the screen becomes black must do exactly that. It will then normally once I open the lid.

I tried Googling a lot of solutions (that much I find completely confusing) and wonder if it could be a wire lose somewhere?

Any help or advice with gratitude would appreciate it because it is frankly :) drive crazy me

    > I have tried Googling a lot of solutions (that much I find completely confusing) and wonder if it could be a wire lose somewhere?

I put t think that it s a connection lost problem.
But to be honest I'm not quite sure if it's just a problem of software/graphics card driver or maybe a serious display problem.

In any case; from my point of view, you must perform some tests. For example, you must uninstall the graphics driver (can be done in the Device Manager) and should download and install the latest available on the European driver Toshiba page.
In addition you should also connect an external monitor to the laptop to check if the same problems of display is visible on2nd, external monitor.

In case the external monitor would be unaffected, the problem is not related to the graphics card or graphics card driver, but without doubt the dysfunctions of the screen internal.
In this case this part needs to be replaced.

  • S10e: External screen flicker

I bought a S10e in Germany, a black version with 160 GB HDD, 1.5 GB of RAM. But since it could be the design function, it could hold for other netbooks as well.

When you connect an external monitor to my netbook, it starts blinking (lines as if you have configured a bad phase to your screen). After changing the position of the wire the flicker is improving, but after some time, step by step, she returned. I've tried several screens external (such as 19 ", 22", 24") with different resolutions. Especially with dark colors, this is really boring.

Someone at - it an idea? I guess it's because of the narrow investment decision-making for the ACplug... Thank you

  • Computer screen flicker laptop, recoveries, BSOD

We have two HP Pavilion dv6t-3100 CTO Select Edition Entertainment laptop bought at the same time. The screen on one of them was flickering, had to make a few recoveries and has generated at least a BSOD.

Curiously, Intel driver problem child is 8.17.0010.0029, and the AMD driver is 8.741.1.1000, date dated 22/06/2010.

But the laptop without problem a driver Intel 8.17.0010.1043 and driver AMD 8.771.1.0, dated 08/09/2010.

Huh? The only difference between the two is that the 'bad' laptop has an i7-720QM ICU while the "good" laptop has the slightly more powerful i7-740QM. So why the pilots different?

In any case, a solution or ideas appreciated.

    Hello @NoSco ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the screen flashes on your computer laptop dv6t.

In view that these laptops use different CPU (and thus a different Intel GPU) they will use different driver version. Intel / AMD switchable graphics driver contains a modded version of the AMD Catalyst Control Center which must be configured to support on each Intel / AMD combination. This explains why they have different versions of the driver.

The flashing display can be a few different things. It could be the inverter, the screen itself, the motherboard or the GPU.

The simplest test to refine things is to test the laptop with an external display. This will immediately identify the issue as a problem of material with the display or the inverter.

If an external display has the same issue, it would mean the issue lies within the operating system or the GPU.

To test further, you can try to load the system with F10 BIOS and see if the problem persists there. Who will reign over drivers because they are not used to run the display in the BIOS and initialized only when Windows is loaded.

If please test each one and let me know the results.

    Hello

My screen on my 6 plus began to have grey bars flashing at the top and sometimes the whole screen, flickers. My phone is always in a case, and I've never dropped it. Everyone has understood how to fix?

I have the same problem. I went to the Apple store and they said I need a new phone. The representative of Apple has not even allow to reach the genius bar, because he knew exactly what it was and offered no solution, but in order to buy a new (guaranteed missed!). I've never broken the phone and its never been repaired for some reason any. It seems that Apple knows there is a problem, but refuses to do anything. • Satellite C660D-16F - horizontal lines on the screen flicker

    Hello
I'm having a problem with lines flickering cityscape randomly appearing on the screen during a random time (during all kinds of situations, video playback web browsing, the CPU usage high or low, etc.). A very similar behavior can be seen on these videos:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=wdipBbRzjSc
    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=1F2H2vaROqM

The motherboard has been changed already nothing doesn't.
From sources around the internet the best current estimate for a cause is the management of advanced power, which dynamically changes the basis (in CPU or GPU) transmission. The deactivation of these (turing off PowerPlay, affecting feeding Windows for maximum performance management, etc.) does not help.

The issue has been present for months. only 1 BSODS happened, perhaps caused by a directx / display driver problem do not know if there is a link.

Still could not reproduce the problem (I tried universal stress tests, tests of cpu / memory-vga, etc.). The question is very random.
System: Windows 7 Prof 64 bit, the latest drivers from the toshiba Web site.

    Any ideas?

I ve checked this video but I n t see anything.

On this virtual path is not easy to discuss these issues, but what I want to know is to follow:
Have you tried to connect the external display and check if the same thing happens again?

In my opinion, these questions may be result from dysfunction of the graphics card. To find out what the problem may be you need time and more stable. Get the second HARD drive, put it in your laptop, install original Toshiba recovery image and test several days with the factory settings.

If the same happens again material, it must be related issue.

What do you think of this?

  • Acer v3 - 772 G screen flicker

Hi, I had this problem with my laptop Acer Aspire V3 - 772G for awhile now. This question seems especially is manifested when the brightness is less than 100%, or when a load (for example, a video game) is placed on the video card. I read a lot of responces about similar problems on this laptop, but am yet to find a solution. I am running 1.15 version of the BIOS, but I tried all other available versions, and which did not help anything. I use the latest graphic driver Intel of the section of downloads for this laptop in particular, and I also tried about 5 different versions of generic drivers intel. This problem occurs when it is connected and when running off battery. I also tried to plug in an external monitor, and none of the questions arrive on this screen.

My system is running a intel HD 4600 and a Nvidia GT 750 M.

I also added a video I took of the show on youtube. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=sPwie7GgUpw

I'm a bit of a loss as to how I can solve this problem. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

My suggestions are to try to reduce the problem. I agree that a cable problem can explain well not all symptoms.

If the fault had appeared only on one device then it would be reasonable to suspect a failure of this particular material. In this case, it is reasonable to assume that the Intel hardware and nVidea are very good because the fault is at the same time however an external monitor is fine. Which narrows the issue for the Panel and cable. As "stirring" has no effect, it is likely that the cable is correct. This leaves the Panel.

You say you have tried every BIOS available with no improvement. Frankly, in my opinion, there is never any likelihood that change BIOS would cure a fault of this nature and I would never recommend this course of action. I would say that a failure of Panel is the most likely the cause. To be more precise, I'd put my money on the associated control circuit, but this aspect should be referred to a service for an accurate assessment.
