HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-n013: restoration of Windows

Since I upgaded to 10 Windows, the functionality of my laptop has negatively affected - sleep and restart no longer work, touch screen has now ceased in funcitoning, etc..

I want to reinstall Windows 8, which my laptop came installed with, but do not have a product key. Micfrosoft say that they can't help without the product key, and John Lewis who I bought it in January 2014 say they cannot provide a key and suggested to contact HP.

I hesitate to do a reset factory, duty to save and reload then all my data and software.

Where can I find the product key for the Windows 8 operating system originally installed on my PC? WIndows 8 is more recoverable so I'll have to download it from the Microsoft site, but are in need of a product key.

Using this utility, you can retrieve your product key in the UEFI firmware on the motherboard: download Windows OEM product key 1.0.0.1 tool

  • TouchSmart 300-1360: restoration of windows 7 Windows 10

My question relates to the possibility of recovering the touchsmart drivers removed when I upgraded to 10 Windows and Windows 7. The opportunity to recover Windows 7 via the given windows 10 reset option is now gone. But I have a set of recovery discs, so I just noticed that the upgrade to window 10 didn't delete the recovery partition which was rebuilt by the recovery disks. I was surprised (shocked actually) to see that he was still there.

I am courious if I have the possibility to reset the orginal via the recovery partition/recovery discs this touchsmart or Windows 10 there a way to stop this process. I'm not unhappy with the new OS, however if I end up selling this computer, I wish I had this information, if required.

I guess I have everything that I need to restore the settings to factory, but Windows 10 has I treated a few surprises in the past. A Word from HP Experts will confirm or refute this hypothesis.

    Thank you for your advice,

    Ambico

I've seen it go either way.  Some report of members that they have managed to return to Windows 7 and others had a lot of problems.  If the recovery partition is not working properly, you should be able to do the recovery.  I would like to know the result if you try.

  • Windows 7 drivers for laptop Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n058ed

    Hi all

    I bought a laptop 15-n058ed Pavilion TouchSmart.

By default, Windows 8 is (GER) installed, however, I don't want Windows 8, I want Windows 7.

The support page lists only the drivers of Windows 8 (why?), so I started to look around, but can not get the correct drivers Windows 7 x 64 for (for example) the graphics card...

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Martin

    Hello:

I do not work for HP, so I can't answer your question about why they provide for W8 driver support on their new PC consumer.

If you want to try to get an answer to this question, please contact HP on the link below.

    https://SSL.WWW8.HP.com/us/en/company-information/Executive-Team/CEO-index.html

    W7 x 64 drivers:

First install the AMD chipset driver and restart. The first file listed.

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64

Now, your model seems to have a hard time to install that USB 3.0 drivers so if they install after you run just the file above, then please read this thread on the link below.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/driver-for-HP-M6-k010dx-for-ACPI-HPQ6007-on-Windows-7/m-p/2891907#M145254

First try my steps, and if they don't work, then try the steps posted by NAP_CHL_IT.

There's another twist... If you have to go on the road to the manual installation, you may have to restart the laptop and repeat the process so that the drivers install completely.

    Then is the graphics:

Run the tool to update AMD Mobility Radeon driver on the link below and it should find the correct driver for your model.

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/mobile?OS=Windows 7-64

    Audio:

Accept the agreement, download and install the second file listed.

    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false

Then, for the rest of the drivers you need, you can get most of this model on the link below.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5275619

If, after the end of this process you still lack drivers go to Device Manager and click on devices that need drivers, post the hardware ID for them, and I'll try and find the right driver W7 for this device or devices.

If you don't know where to find this information, please read the guide at the link below.

  • Dual boot Win8.1, openSUSE 13.1 on Pavilion TouchSmart 10 10-e010nr

I installed openSUSE 13.1 on a recently purchased laptop, leaving the installer set it up to dual boot with the Windows OEM 8.1. However, when the computer reboots, it goes straight to Windows. A web search reveals that this is not a rare problem, but the solutions are so varied that I don't know where to start.

    Details are as follows:

The material is a HP Pavilion TouchSmart 10 10-e010nr with Windows 8.1 64-bit OEM. Installation media is the installation of openSUSE - 13.1 DVD ISO, put it on a Flash DRIVE by:

    http://en.openSUSE.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick

In the BIOS Setup, I've disabled Secure Boot and changed to traditional Mode. After that, the USB has been seen in the menu boot device options.

I chose to do a new installation, to reduce the main Windows partition to make room for the installer /, / Home and swap. I accepted the suggestion of the installer to use Grub2 EFI and make existing partition/boot/efi Windows EFI boot without formatting.

Installation seemed to go normally, but as soon as the stop and restart, the computer went straight to Windows. In the Windows disk management tool, I see the newly created partitions, so presumably the only problem is the boot or startup program manager.

  • Pavilion Touchsmart 23: Pavilion 23 Touchsmart screen dim after sleep Windows 10

    Pavilion Touchsmart 23 all-in-One model f339

    AMD Radeon HD D 8670

My screen is too dark, after that the computer "wakes up" fashion "sleep" I can read only now my face one inch away. Reboot brings the brightness back to normal, only to happen again the next time that the computer sleeps. This has only started happening since the upgrade of Windows 8 to 10 of Windows.

    -All drivers are up-to-date

    -All Windows updates are up-to-date

-There is no brightness slider in power options

-I have no brightness control on my keyboard

Please help me solve this problem, so I don't have to go back to Windows 8! Thank you in advance.

I think I might have made some progress with this problem. I had a friend call me and he suffered from these same questions. The partial solution (and probably most) I've discovered is that there is a critical update of the BIOS that had not been done. Because Windows 10 was already installed, it didn't appear on the page to Support HP or HP update software. The way I had the time it was to say the HP website that I had Windows 8.1. The update then appeared. I downloaded the BIOS for its model was last updated and installed. (BTW: it worked great in Windows 10). Once I've upgraded, the dark screen problem has been resolved. However, as long as the screen saver, night light or auto Hibernate still does not work. You can manually put the computer to sleep via a button or the start menu, and he returned very well. His was an AMD based all-in-one and I don't remember not if someone had problems with the Intel based platforms.

So, to summarize... If you have not installed 10 still make sure you BIOS update first. If you have goto, the Web site and enter your model. Replace the Windows 8.1 operating system. Download and install.

If anyone has more of an insight, please answer others to take advantage. Good luck and enjoy Windows 10. And if anyone has a solution for the problem of sleep/sleep/screensaver please respond.

  • HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b100: "Press the ESC key" black screen TouchSmart 15-b100sa

    Hello

I'm helping a friend with his computer because his son decided to play with it and now it is unclear what steps it took to create this problem.

Initially, he asks a password on a black screen before opening the BIOS screen.

Someone in this forum helped me with this problem and told me to try a code which worked perfectly.

After that, I get a black screen that repeated me "press ESC for Boot Menu".

If I press this button, a message appears saying "ESC...". Starting break"and stays there for about 2 minutes, which I think it's a lot of time to open the start menu to enter the BIOS and change the settings.

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on?

The computer is a HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b100sa Sleekbook

I would appreciate if someone could help with this problem.

    Thank you

    Hi @jc4 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook 15-b100 and issues with maybe an update. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows 8, if you need it.

  • HP Pavilion Touchsmart kept Sound disappears after installation and reinstalling the drivers

I have a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 14-B132TX Sleekbook. My sound disappeared while I was using it a month ago. I called the HP Hotline and Technical Support told me just uninstall it from the Device Manager and when restarted, automatically installs the driver. What I did.

The sound came back but still once he disappeared after about 15 minutes of use, so I called tech support again and they gave me links to HP support for drivers to download and install which I did and rebooted the computer and the sound came back again. BUT again, the noise has disappeared. I called tech support and they just do a system restore which I did and the sound came back again. But he disappeared again after all just 7 minutes of use.

These are the drivers, I installed from the HP Web site: sp60642, sp64082, sp60464 and sp64031. After reinstalling the drivers. I cleaned my laptop with CCleaner and went to HP Support Assistant in the hope of getting a solution, there was a statement here to download the QUALCOMM Atheros driver and I installed again the driver said... The sound has come back after rebooting. AND again, he has disappeared after just using the laptop for about 3 minutes. (it gets worse!.) This laptop is quite new, he just bought 10 months ago. What is going on? Please help me. I use the Windows 8 operating system. PLEASE HELP ME.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

You can try to update the Bluetooth drivers for your laptop.  However, your product does not have Windows 10 drivers on the HP site.  Maybe that's why you have a few problems.  You can find the drivers for your product here:

  • Pavilion a6220n: updated my BIOS after Windows 7 is already installed

    Hello.

I bought an a6220n Pavilion in 2008 because he was very progressive.  In 2010, I updated the video card with an ATI Radeon 4770 and upgraded to 4 GB of RAM.

Recently, I backed up all my stuff and restored the computer to factory settings.  I installed 8 GB of RAM. Then I started Windows 7-64 bits of an installation disc.

So now Windows 7-64 bit is up and running.  I think so.  Internet seems to be very slow.   It recognizes the 8 GB of RAM and video card, video card driver, and other system drivers are up to date.

I want to spend my CPU to a Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33 Ghz, but in order to do this, I'll probably have to update my BIOS.   But when I try to update my BIOS Installer tells me this:

I looked at the manual and it shows 3 different maps, but none of them are compatible 5 GHz I believe that when this laptop was built not as popular 5Ghzwas and 802.11 AC did not exist. Any input?  The HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15 - b109wm Sleekbook there a whitelist and if so what is the best or the simplest work around?

    Hello:

He shouldn't have a whitelist, as HP stop this practice more than 2 years ago.

However, your mobile PC is an AMD processor and chipset, so you would be limited to use a double band Broadcom dual band N or map of the AC.

9 times out of 10 an Intel wireless network card will not work in a notebook with AMD hardware, and there is no way I'd be able to tell you if an Intel card would work in your computer laptop or not.
