HP Pavilion TX 2231 G6: Re-install Windows 8

Hi, I have purchsed my G6 2231 Tx pavilion before 3 years!

As we know, it came pre-installed with Windows 8.

But recently I installed Ubuntu LTS 14.04 in my Pavilion G6 2231 TX for some projects and I want to reinstall my windows 8 in my phone how can I do this?

It automatically detects my motherboard product key? First place how can I download windows 8 that I can't find any source to download windows 8...

Kindy please help me because I want to upgrade to windows 10 there after...

Your title mentions the "Overview" Win8.1 - but that is no longer available.

You CAN reinstall the Win8 which is preinstalled on your laptop, but to do this, you must order the HP recovery media. It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.  You get these by contacting HP Customer Service.

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

And, Yes, it automatically detects the product key which is saved in the UEFI firmware on your motherboard, if you do not have to enter anything to activate Windows.

  • I get 'Invalid key' when you install Windows XP SP3 Home Edition from a CD at retail and used the OEM key

I restore an HP Pavilion computer and try to install Windows XP Home Edition, with the button on the side of the computer.  I contacted HP and they no longer have an available for this computer recovery CD.  So, I tried to install a copy of Windows XP Edition retail family, but when I enter the OEM product key I get "invalid key".  I read on this forum that you can not mix the OEM disc/keys with detail, but it seems that I don't have to buy another copy of Windows when it came with my computer.  What choices do I have?

    None!

So I don't Support HP and Microsoft no help either.  Activation Center asked me to call the Department of parts (which is incorrect) and the parts Department told me that they cannot provide Windows which was distributed by HP!  Microsoft changed this start with Vista, so I do not understand why they are always telling customers that.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion p6310y: need standalone Serial ATA Drivers to install Windows Vista on Pavilion p6310y

I bought your desktop Pavilion p6310y on eBay, and I really like it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it without problem. For the purposes of running the software (in particular, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007), I also want to install Windows Vista Ultimate on it, on another partition.

I was under the impression that Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - Bit was originally installed the operating system when this system was released, however, when I start the installation support Windows Vista (which I created from a downloaded ISO), it requires additional drivers (no doubt, Serial ATA drivers) before instalatio, also no hard drives appear in the drive list. Anyone know where I can get these independent Serial ATA driver files? The controller is a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA controller. I do not have the recovery of original installation disks and don't think that it would be possible to get to this point, this system is no longer supported by HP.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

    Mark W. Stroberg

    Hi, Mark:

I compressed upwards and tied the driver for the sata raid controller, you require to the nvidia chipset, that your PC has below.

The best way to install the driver is as follows...

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without any folder.

With the flash player and the support of Vista installation in the machine, boot from the Vista installation media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope that Vista will install.

  • HP keyboard mapping inorrect freshly installed Windows 7 / XP on HP Pavilion 500-202eo

    Hello

After you have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on HP Pavilion 500 - 202eo, I noticed that the HP keyboard connected is incorrectly mapped. I had exact same questions with the mapping of the keyboard with new operating system installs on oher systems as well, but couldn't really find a solution for this. In fact, certain symbols appear to move; While normally, where usually I had to press Alt Gr + 2 I got the sign @, I must now press shift. The? + button now product - character, while pressing on - product button /, <>product button------etc. I tried to put the keyboard in 'Norwegian', which is the layout of my keyboard, but nothing helped. It seems that I must be missing some type of a pilot or a patch, which is present on each preinstalled system that I own, but somehow is missing on installed fresh, even if there are no conflicts in Device Manager. I have the same problem on the XP installation. Any suggestions?

Hello again once, I managed to solve this problem by specifying the correct keyboard language in Control Panel. I didn't need drivers after all.

  • Does anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175

If anyone has installed Windows 7 on a laptop Pavilion DV2175 and if so it is 32 or 64 bit

    Hello:

There is an unofficial update guide to windows 7 for the series dv2000.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/Windows-7-upgrade-guide-for-DV2000-models/m-p/186936#M28141

Given that the maximum amount of memory, that you can install on your laptop is only 2 GB, I'd go with W7 32 bit, as a 64 bit OS requires more memory and disk space to run a 32 bit OS only.

    Not double, but more.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

According to your description, my guess is that the program that you used has replaced the boot files on the hard drive, NOT on the flash drive. Thus, your PC no longer starts.

To resolve startup problems, you need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

You will need to create something called a CD-ROM to repair Win7 - which you could have done for free when Win7 was working.  This will repair the boot loader files, and if that is the problem, your PC will start OK after that.

But now, which can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/

Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.
    -------------------------------------

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

    Good luck

First of all, try to click on the Windows icon, type services in the start search box, and then click or tap on the advice of local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type must be - automatic and the service status should be - has begun. Restart the computer after this stage and try to reinstall.

Your system came with 64-bit Windows. You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!
