HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b003SA buzzing noise!

I got my new HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14 - b003SA for a week now and have noticed that it is a constant low humming sound since the cooling fan is always on. It is not at all very strong but is remarkable in a quiet room and is annoying to live with. I went into the bios and disabled "fan always on" making silent (except when the fan comes in to keep the temp down from time to time and again around 60 c). I'm happy with it on this setting, but I'm afraid that not having only not the fan on "always we" laptop overheating and damage the cpu is slowed down 10-15 ° c warmer than when the fan is on according to the base temperature.

My question is: is this normal for this laptop for the fan to run constantly and have a low buzzing sound? If so, is it safe mode off "always one fan? I only use this laptop for basic stuff (that is to say sea navigation and not to play games).

I think I can always go back to the company I got it since then, but they can charge me up to 25% of the cost of the laptop if they think that there is no fault, so I want to make sure that it is defective, before doing so.

Thanks for your help!

Hello!

It is prudent to disable the "fan always on" mode  Also, if the laptop is fairly new, I suggest you contact HP support directly and let them know about the issue.  The number is 1-800-474-6836 for US / Canadian customers.  If you are in another part of the world, you visit HP's Support around the world to find the coordinates for your region.

Have a great day.

My laptop makes buzzing noise while playing music or video on both headphones and speakers

    Hi @vineeth_7,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion 15-b000 Sleekbook sizzling/buzzing noise. You can try:

    1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
    2. click on playback devices.
    3. click on the speakers.
    4. click on properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window.
    6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
    7. apply properties.
    8. click OK to close the Properties window. Restart your laptop and try the sound.

You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Reboot the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. This helped other people.

  • HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b011tx windows update

Hello, I recently bought Hp Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b011tx. And it came with windows 7. The shopkeeper told me that once I have download and install all updates, the windows will be up upgraded to windows 8. In the meantime, I have a problem that some keyboard shortcuts will not work. I have update problems. Deputy Director HP takes for always looking for updates.

    Hello toka

After further research in your question, I can explain how you can get your computer upgraded to Windows 8.

The laptop came with Windows 7 installed and is not one of the operating systems on the driver page that I suspect those who resell it to you deleted Ubuntu and place a copy of Windows 7 instead. The system cannot automatically update in Windows 8, it must be purchased and installed manually. I would recommend that you go to an electronics store to see if you can buy it and then install the Windows 8 operating system. Once you have purchased a copy of Windows 8 and installed, you can download and install the drivers for Windows 8 on page HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14 - b011tx drivers .

I'm sorry for the confusion with regard to obtaining your HP Pavilion 14 Ultrabook to Windows 8. Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of HP. Have a great day!

    Hello:

See if installing the audio driver IDT W8.1 works on W10...

This package contains the driver that allows Audio IDT high definition (HD) in the notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

  • HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b005ea upgraded CPU + ram + hard drive

HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-b005ea on Windows 8 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my sleekbook processor an i3 to an i5, I also would like to upgrade this laptop computers hdd + ssd cache to an ssd of 256 GB full so that increase the ram of 4 GB to 8 GB. can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    CPU:

    More quick possible:

    Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7 GHz, turbo up to 2.6 GHz 1 600 MHz/3 MB L3 cache, dual core, 17 W)

    You have:

    Intel Core i3-3217U (1.8 GHz, 1 600 MHz / 3 MB L3 cache, dual core, 17 W)

The i3 you have is actually faster for most purposes than the i5, although the i5 has Turbo. I would not bother with this upgrade. It is the most difficult and expensive. The processor seems to be welded on so it would take a whole new motherboard, I'm sorry to say. At least try upgrading memory and SSD before committing to try upgrading the processor.

    Memory and hard drive:

You can install up to 8 GB of RAM and you can install a reader mSATA. However, the memory and the mSATA drive slot are on the back side of motherboard and not easy to do. See Page 59 and transfer to the manual. In general, this model does not have an update very easily. You can replace the hard drive on a regular basis with an SSD without having to remove the motherboard, but it is still much harder than the mobile way. See pages 47-49.

  • C50-A-1DV satellite makes strange static/buzzing noise

My brand new toshiba laptop is constantly producing a strange humming/static noise that seems to come from the fan.

I don't know if this is the case with all these models but it's pretty boring and I fear that something could be wrong with the laptop.

Please can someone help me on this one?
What can be the cause of the strange noise?

As I said it seems to come from the fan, but I'm not 100% sure.

Have you noticed this buzzing/static noise while turning heavy fan?

For me it of very difficult to tell if it s a good fan noise or unusual noises that may be related to problems of cooling module.

On the other hand, you are not sure if the noise comes from the fan, so I think we are groping in the dark to 100%

From my point of view of the few the laptop is new and if you don't know if there is a hardware problem, you should ask a favor for the engineer and check.

Mate sorry but at this point, I have no other 'solution' for you :(

  • Pavilion p7-1414 map video noise

My Pavilion p7-1414 video card began to make noise of fan.  Cleaned and reinstalled.  Always noisy.  If gently, you hold the fan and prevent it from spinning noise constantly.

Has tried to buy a replacement at Best Buy, and I was told no way.  They don't wear them.  Mine is a PNY210 with 1.0 not 2.0, which is what they have now.

    Where/what to replace this card?

    Thank you

The card would be acceptable with your power of 300W. But - you will need to modify the UEFI BIOS to accept the new card.

  • Pavilion 15 p248ne: loud fan noise and vibrate

Hello, so he started to happen when I move the laptop one day (when it's on) fan me all of a sudden very hard and the laptop everything vibrated, it sounded like the fan was touch something running which makes vibration and noise, it sounds exactly like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkCLubSukzI I fixed it by restarting the laptop (sleeping too work looks like everything that makes the fan stop) but now It happens randomly, the normal fan noise has changed and there sometimes as fort again, as demonstrated in the video and then I have to restart to fix it. I tried to open up the laptop, but a few screws were too hard and stuck lol so I gave up. and I cleaned the vents of the dust.

    Hey @amro2,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

You mentioned that you hear a thud and the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p248ne vibrates when this happens. You thought that it sounded like the fan touched something in rotation. I also watched the YouTube video that you had provided for me. This was very helpful! Thank you.

Perhaps one of the possibilities is that the fan should be cleaned.

Even if you had not indicated that you do not encounter any problems with the heat, there is a document called a Fan is Noisy and runs constantly. This document has troubleshooting steps that may help. I realize that you don't have more intermittently as you a question on a regular basis, however, the steps described in the document can lead you in the right direction for resolution.

I'll provide you with HP Pavilion 17 Notebook FHCP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide for your reference.

If none of the steps above help, and the laptop is still under warranty (please use the auditor of the guarantee if you are not sure), I wouldn't open Notepad. While opening the laptop should not void your warranty, if any damage is caused during the process without contacting HP Support then it can void your warranty. If you are still in warranty, please use the following link to create yourself a file number:

Step 1. Open the link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter the product number or select Auto detection
Step 3. Scroll up to "still need help? Fill out the form to select your contact options.
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: contact HP options - click Get phone number

  • HP Pavilion G7: Fan of grinding noise?

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion G7, and he had problems with fan for a few months now. It will start making a grinding noise and sometimes disappear. Lately, however, it has not disappeared. I removed the keyboard and tried to suck dust, ran some tests system, pilots resettled... nothing works! In addition, it is certainly the fan, not the hard drive. Need help please, without this computer, I can't do my homework, continue to save games.

    Hey @PyreticFyre ,

I would check the implementation of the fan, just to ensure something does not rub. I would also test the HP Diagnostic as it can help to diagnose a piece failed hardware in the laptop.

    Thank you.

  • Loud buzzing noise VN7 - 791-G [+ audio clip]

For the last two weeks that I had trouble with a very loud hum staticky coming from the lower left corner of my Aspire VN7 - 791 G (left of the Tablet under the keyboard) when the machine is under load (working in game engines and play games, mainly). I've had this laptop for a little over a year and never had this problem before. Side software, everything seems fine, I have not noticed any FPS fall or freezes / crashes or something of the sort. I get an occasional blue screen, but those who are very rare after all drivers and updates to BIOS (power of State failure or something like that).

The hum seems louder depending on the workload. If I close all active programs, the noise tends to remain constant for couple minutes, then he calms down gradually until it is completely silent.

I tried to record the sound, and when I listen to the helmet that looks a lot like the real thing (but not too strong): http://vocaroo.com/i/s1cZvjzHgHs5.

Also: I have not tried to replicate this again, but earlier I was running a game on the battery from the battery by accident. The machine has been completely silent. After awhile, I got a message saying battery was weak, so I plugged in the charger and... instantly, heard the buzz with a maximum volume (not a gradual increase as usual). Could it have something to do with the power save settings perhaps? Or more likely as a material thing?

    Thank you

    So, I have good news...

In a last effort attempt, I decided to open my laptop and remove the front left speaker, because I was almost certain that it is the noise. I unplugged the mobo, unscrewed it and removed from the chassis. I tried all day and I can confirm that the hum is GONE now!

It's kinda something hacky that I have now only 3 speakers instead of 4, but I'm just happy that I am able to reuse this thing in the workplace. CE marking as resolved.

  • Headphones do a static/buzzing noise on my XPS 13 (9350)

Hi guys, when I use headphones/headset to my laptop via the headphone jack, I always hear a low static/buzzing despite the fact that no music or sound is played. Anyone else have this problem or knows how to solve?

Increase / decrease audio volume make a difference? Have you tried other headphones, or tried the helmet another PC, the noise only happen with Notepad, or follow the headset? Do you notice only the sound when using the headset?

The big thing here is to make sure that the headphone is plugged, check to see if there is any give in the connection. Move the laptop to another location and see if the noise follows the laptop.  It could be something near the laptop which is the cause of the problem. If notice you the sound on the speakers try to download the drivers.

Please let me know what you find.

    Presario S5100NX

Hello, believe that I caused a short circuit and now there is a noise of snoring/snoring coming from inside the pc.  Accidentally hit the side micro usb cable to the usb hub, computer shutdown / crashed? and when I turned it on, the buzz began and monitor shows the Compaq screen with a configuration F1 and F10 system recovery options.  The two option fail. Switch keyboards and F1 & F10 always inadmissible.

The noise comes from a little black cylinder, with AC - 1205G and add the sign inside a circle on his back.  It is located right next to the port which connects the power button and led lights to the Board of Directors.

Need to know if there is a reset or fuse.  Is the Council possible burnt or bad?  Can I repair or should I bring to a service center?

    Help.

The AC - 1205G Unit is a magnetic buzzer.  Given that your venerable old PC (10 years) gave you many years of great use, it seems a good time to replace. There is no fuse or reset on the motherboard.

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to find a replacement motherboard as they are no longer manufactured. • Satellite A500-1EJ - charger makes buzzing noise

    Hello world

I have a Satellite A500-1EJ. A few months ago the original laptop computer charger died on me, so I bought a Spanish new from Amazon.
Also, I bought a new battery and they worked perfectly until last week. Of fact changer this buzzing when it is connected (same as previous). As the charger and the battery are original I have tried to find a way to get a replacement but can't find anything on cell phone chargers.

Could you please help me with this? Amazon said I need to contact the manufacturer of the product.
