HP Pavillion DV4-1199th: laptop not charge battery

Dear Sir.

My laptop a DV4-1199th does not rotate if the power light is on when the battery is out. When I installed a charged battery, it lights, but the power light is off and the battery won't charge (in fact that it discharges).  I have to recharge the battery when the phone is turned off. Laptop also only lights up the battery (disconnected from the power supply. What should be the problem?

Hi @cbsantos722 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv4-1199ee Notebook and the problems with the battery. Here is a link to calibrate and test the battery.  Here is a link to solve the problems of the battery on a laptop. You should be able to complete these with the laptop plugged into the AC adapter.

Please let me know what happens with the tests.

Thank you.

  • HP-n240tx: laptop not charge up

    Hi guys...

I have a hp laptop that is about a year and model n240tx... this problem has happened today when suddenly, my phone says connected but do not load on the battery and unfortunately when it happened to my battery said it was 9% and immediately turn off the power

I did the thing to reset the power when I remove the battery and adapter and power button press and hold... I did it and my laptop did start up office and new such dangerously low battery 7% and closing down and now not even start flashing white led near port (mind you it was with the laptop connected to the power supply) load

And it seems that my laptop doesn't start when the battery is removed because when I tried to do it just stops immediately with a little beep in the speakers

PS: I also noticed that when the laptop started to 7%, he went back to the base... not even in the hd4400 or the gt740m display, also Ive rarely ever used my battery, he operated mainly on the sector (maybe this caused a dead battery?)

Ive read abt this and many say this can be a defective Board on the laptop, but I think that this could be a dead battery problem? Since it is a question of holiday I can't remove for repair shop, so I would like some info of experts on this issue

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on your charger and battery problems and wanted to help.

The diagnostic approach is to test both the dough and the charger, but in both cases, you must follow the instuctions that we could post a working laptop.  I'll post the links below:

Computers laptops HP - HP battery check the frequently asked Questions for laptops (Windows 7 and Vista) | HP® customer support

If you can't make it work enough to use these links, because we have no way of diagnosing the problem from here, your only recourse is to take the PC to a HP Service Center and ask them to look at.

  • Not charging battery Camileo S10

    Hello
Bought an S10 and I am very satisfied with the quality and performance when he is married with a class 6 SD card. The receipt first came it that I plugged it in to recharge the battery and the round red record switch. After the inspection being plugged all night as planned to indicate that the witness has no flashes. I used the S10 and the battery ran down and plugged in and again once the light red came on however the battery recharge. If I plug it to my pc, I can read all the files but unplugged, it's as dead as possible!

I have acquired a similar happened fully charged battery and the same process as the first happened. Anyone has any ideas - it is a defective product?

    Concerning

    Hello

did you remove the insulation on the connections of the battery before charging?
The red light flashes while recharging the battery? If the charge is complete, the Red led is constant.
If this is not the case, there seems to be something wrong with the electronic charger.
Recharging works only with AC charger provided.
    Camcorder must be disabled.
    Clean the battery contacts.

  • Pavilion 15-p035nd: laptop not charging

    Hello.

I got my laptop from Komplett.ie last week, and he played well for the seven days later. However, while using it last night, it stopped loading all of a sudden.

He has been connected to a pocket of work, since he had previously supported. I checked the cables for kinks and found nothing. I used a different power cable to plug the adapter into the wall outlet. I used another socket. I removed the battery and cable, discharged from the laptop and tried to turn it on so that connected without battery.

None of this has worked. The powers single computer laptop on while battery is in, running only on battery power. The only thing I could not test is a second card.

What can I do to fix this?

If the duct is not powered when the adapter is connected, the adapter is likely to have failed. It is a part of replaceable warranty.

  • Re: using hp pavilion 15 and it says plugged in not charging battery

The testing and calibration of the battery link (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00821536) is for Windows 7.  Our PC has Windows 8.1.  I tried on the advice of anyway, but it seems holding down the home button while restarting can no longer pull the PC in safe mode.

How about a reference for W8 and one for the W10?

  • Laptop not charging problem

I have dell laptop inspiron 1440 with woindows 7 ultimate. When I connect the charger for laptop, it says "Unknown adapter detected" but sometimes, it works fine, BUT then after the load up to 80% or more, he stops the charge and said "plugged in, not charging"... What could be the possible reason?

I have to buy a new charger? Please help its really annoynig.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi David,

Please go to the Microsoft Community Forums.

I want to tell you that it's a hardware problem. The card is faulty or the charger on the motherboard component does not work. In most cases, the problem is with the motherboard.

So, I suggest you to contact Dell for assistance.
    Reference:
  • Laptop has 'charge battery' led flashing with charger connected, but does not turn

I am with the following problem:

    (1) my laptop won't turn. Even when it is connected to the charger. I tested 3 different Chargers work.

    (2) sometimes the light which indicates "charger plugged" does not illuminate. And when it turns on, the "battery charge" stops flashing. In this case, when I try to power on my laptop, it starts to launch upward, but in a few seconds, he turned down.

    It's a DV4-2160us.

What could happen and what could I do?

I have the same problem, I have a solution , however: the order of output power: first plug in the socket and then into the laptop, works fine for me if I have no batery, if I, it dose n t of material order, it could be useful

  • Laptop not charging and not turning not not on also

Hi, my laptop (dell Inspiron 15 7000 series-7537) is not load, tried the charger with another laptop and it works, certainly isn't evil, it also sometimes does when I load it charger 'as it indicates no current charging"on the screen... Any ideas on what to do or I have to send in repairs and how much it will cost me?

The system light up at all?  If not, unplug, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds.  Remove the base and remove and reinstall the bars of memory.  Plug the AC adapter and see if it will turn on.  If it goes with the battery disconnected, but not with it connected, the battery is bad.

If it still doesn't light up, check the USB ports for damaged pins that can cause a short circuit.  Otherwise, if you have already tried a new Dell adapter without result, the power supply is the next possible suspect - who is part of a $35:

    www.Parts-People.com/index.php

If replacement that does not solve the problem, looking at a replacement motherboard - the order of several hundreds of dollars for the party as well as the labor to install.

  • Pavillion Dv4-1225dx do not fully recognize the capacity of the hard disk

Recently I replaced the OEM hitachi hard drive (SATA 250 GB at 5400 RPM) in my Dv4-1225dx. Replaced by a WD scorpio black 16mg buffer 320G 7200 RPM / min. system registers only one size of 298G drive despite the fact that the player goes out very well with the Western Digital diagnostic tool and check the bios of the system HDD Pavilion. Is there a BIOS setting that is to limit the ability of the systems to recognize more than 300 GB drives? If there is, I'm not, the Bios (BIOS latest worm d.55) hid all the settings that I'm used to seeing on other laptops. If anyone has had this problem, or have any ideas of what I should look at? Thanks in advance...

The missing space is called disk overhead. I'll show you and example. The image is that of a STAT 500 GB drive. In fact only 465 GB is used.  The calculation is simple. Please keep in mind that a kilobyte is actually 1024octets.
