HP Photosmart 7525: Scanning under MacOS Sierra is no longer working.

Recently upgraded to MacOS Sierra (MacOS 10.12).  Since then, my HP Photosmart 7525 is no longer allow me to save the scans to the computer.  The "Save" button is gray and impossible to be clicked.  He'll copy, print and scan documents, I just can no longer save to my computer.

When I enter the HP utility > settings > scan settings > scan to the computer, the software scans my system, then gives me an error message that says:

"Scan of the computer can not be activated.

The HP software required for the Scan of the computer could not be located on this computer. Please download and install the latest HP recommended software for your device to http://www.hp.com/supportand then try again. »

I completely uninstalled the old driver software (which says that HP should run on any Mac OS after 10.6) and reinstalled the latest drivers that it is compatible for the 10.11 and later.  I always get the same answer.  Printer will print, will copy, will scan, but not save to the computer.

Yes, I already rebooted one device at a time, and Yes, I disconnected and reconnected all devices in separately.

What can I try next...?

Hey there.

EASY SCAN can be installed, use 1.6.0 - works well with SIERRA.

Kind regards.

Trash the older Scan Utility as he said? Who did it for me. Maybe try to restart after that? And restart the printer too?

  • Blank thumbnails for people under macOS Sierra

Hi all! I use an iMac 21.5 ' (end 2013) with the latest Mac OS update of the Sierra (10.12 for the moment).

I found a strange behavior of the Photos app, using the people album.

With the help of pictures under Mac OS X El Capitan, I crossed the long process to define all the faces of my friends for each image of my iCloud photo library; I also removed all faces unwanted by pressing the x key.

Under the Sierra, the Photos app crossed another analysis of the faces still: all the faces I confirmed under El Capitan are still there, but in addition there are plenty of new tiles white in the section "add people" that I can't delete or use.

I thought something during the scan of people was wrong, so I rebuilt the library of photos, but nothing has changed.

It turned out that the blank tiles are people I removed (under El Capitan) by pressing the x key. In fact, if you duplicate one of the images affected by this issue, you will find that it recognizes the new faces and the application lists correctly under the section "add people". If you open the image and remove the circles of those faces, you will find that the section "add people" now have black thumbnails.

I think it is a bug. Next week, I'll call Apple support report.

In my opinion, the good feature should be the following:

    • If people are recognized on a new photos, these are listed under the heading "add people";
    • If you want to hide them, faces are still recognized by the software, but they do not appear in the list of people;
    • If you want to remove them (by pressing the x on the circle button), the must go to the section "add people" or the "hidden people" section You should be able to rescan single image, image group or the entire library, if you want to return to the previous state.

I have the same problem, but no solution.

And I think that the screen "add people" is not very useful, just what is actually more complicated (Photos hiding in Sierra Photos)

All photos should go the list of 'People' where I can either name or delete (I like your proposal of new analysis to recover).

I would use 'Hide' for the less well-known people on the main list. But according to leonie it also excludes their pictures of memories.

  • HP Photosmart 7525: Scan feature installation and configuration on HP Photosmart 7525

How can I install / set up the scan on the HP Photosmart 7525 function.  I never connected when I bought the printer?

    Hi clipper91,

    Thank you for your answer!

To find out if you have the full feature software and drivers installed, go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Hewlett-Packard, and then double-click the HP Scan icon. If there is not an HP Scan icon, then the software has not been installed.

    I hope this helps!

  • Photosmart 7525 scan to mac... Help!

I recently bought an iMac (OSX 10.9.4) and a HP Photosmart 7525 e-all-in-one printer.  The print and fax work fine, but I can't scan to my computer.

I installed the HP software on the HP download site, but I always get a message on the printer that says "any computer" how to fix this?

    Hi @mfspectrum,

I see by your post that you are unable to scan. I can help you with this.

Enable the analysis of parameters of the computer. A "no computer detected" or "Connection error" message while scanning. Go to Solution two: check the Scan to the computer, the first step setting: check the Scan to the computer setting.

Check the name of the driver that is installed by the printer. Airprint driver could be installed instead of the printer driver. (usually by default, Airprint)

Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences. Click on Printers & Scanners, highlight the name of the printer on the left side and right side of the screen should display the name.

If the name of the printer indicates Airprint, then it of the Apple drivers, remove it and add the name of the printer back in the list. Click on the sign - to remove the driver and then click on the + sign to add the driver might have to drop-down list to select the name of the printer to add a click.

Try and start a new search.

If you need help, let me know.

    Good day!
    Thank you.

  • Cannot configure the Pop of Hotmail on Mail account under macOS Sierra

    Hello.

I'm on a MacBook Air - end of 2014 with macOS Sierra installed.

I decided to perform a new installation of the latest version of Mac OS. As I did this, of course, I've erased completely any configuration, I had: this has the Mail app.

I want to create access to two accounts different Hotmail via Mail App. Apple unfortunately, it's automatically my IMAP accounts - something I really don't like / want - and I want to create POP accounts!

I check online on how to do it (because Yosemite, holding the Option key during the initial installation, no longer works.) I write a bad e-Mail and after trying to access it, I get an error message and automatically mail gives me the possibility to choose between an account IMAP or pop. Also, it requires me to give the outgoing server and receiving code «»

MY QUESTION IS: What are the current codes for Hotmail? Because I searched online and after typing the (I assume) good, Mail tells me that it does not recognize my email address and/or password. (Be aware that during the execution of this, I also write my e-Mail address correctly!).

I really need my accounts connected to Apple Mail, BUT I really need to make sure that it doesn't copy emails and not delete them from the server!

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

Ask Microsoft about the configuration necessary to initialize one of their products to access pop.

  • Fusion of the 2 memories under macos Sierra Photos

    Dear ladies and gentlemen,

I have currently updated to macos Sierra on my MBP 2013 retina and I have the following problem:

The Photos App recognizes pictures of holidays as several distinct memories, but in fact they just (about) at the same place and time.

Is there a way to merge the various memories, photos created app in a single memory?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Christian

    Hi Christian,

I tried to understand this too, and a blog randomly gave me the answer.

To merge memories, create an album with all the photos you want in this memory. View the album and, at the top right, it will say "see in memory." Once you click that, you can scroll down and save it as a souvenir, and from there, you can remove the album and former, separate memories.

  • 4 finger swipe does not work under macOS Sierra!

Hey all, I upgraded to macOS Sierra and noticed that one of my function used more regularly on Mac OS, 4 finger swipe to switch between desktop computers does not work! Mine is an April 2011 MacBook Pro.

Earlier, 2 fingers sliding back in the files, similar to switching back and forward for the Web pages in Safari, has been abandoned without reason penetrable. I hope that's not the same fate for 4 finger swipe to switch between desktops.

I probably use hundreds of times every day for switching between desktop computers because I have safari, MS Word and open the mail outside of iTunes on separate workstations. I hope that a fix is released soon!

Apple, do not bite of useful outdoors features!

4 finger swipe works for me and appears as the 2nd part of the Trackpad Control Panel.
