HP Photosmart 8250

My HP Photosmart 8250 does not print and display the msg "Print catridge cradle is stuck. Clear jam and press OK. »

I opened all areas, I can do without the help of a screwdriver and found no jams. When I press OK the cradle of cycles back normally going through of maint. cycle. The cradle jam msg then reappears in the display.

PS When I tilted the printer to look below, it looks like a screw or something is rattling.

Hello HFH-8250and welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have transportation problems.  I would try to help.

I recommend you to perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I also recommend the rest of this paper on the 'Transport Jam' Message appears on the printer control panel.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • waste on a Photosmart 8250

I have a photosmart 8250 printer that uses an extremely small and expensive cartridges, I need to find a way to minimize waste. HP recommends that, when the printer is not used to turn it off (usually I do that); However, when I print something and the machine turns on itself, she goes to a nozzle cleaning, which waste a lot of ink. What can I do to minimize waste?

    Bayo

    Hello

In fact, the 8250 is amazing for its ability to not waste ink.  I always was a little embarrassed that we don't have the market like crazy, but I'll give you the short version.

What is the system, prevent air to accumulate above nozzles and kill her.  It is spewing a lot of ink.  However, the 8250 he spilled ink on the whole of the inside of the nozzle plate to remove the air, then the ink through the recirculation system.  What you hear, is the pump moving ink autour, not nozzles being drawn.  Thus, your waste of ink is being minimized for you all by preventing konking out nozzles.

Hope it's a no-brainer.  Let me know if something is not make sense for you.

    Best regards, CF

  • Color on a part of the graph is shaded - HP PhotoSmart 8250

    HP PhotoSmart 8250

I try to print a graphic 4 "X 8" (shiny postcard) of a PDF file, but a part of a section of the image on one of the ends (1/3 of the printing area) is partially shaded transparent gray - in particular 1/2 of a face.

Picture of the subject's head is placed in an oval graphic. The upper part of the grey area is a straight line that runs under the nose of the subject, and the lower part follows the edge curved graphic border (the face and the background resemble the entire bottom half is immersed in a water tank - like the person is in a fish bowl).

I have test-print a 4 "X 6" photo on a similar document, and it prints well. I ran a test print, which was very good, and I downloaded an updated driver, but there is no improvement.

It is quite frustrating! Thanks for any help you can give. -Cheryl

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the first driver that you recommended, but he offered no paper that I need - 4 X 8 inches. So I re-downloaded the drivers tried and original. I played a bit with the printer and Adobe settings (printing was worse the JPG file), and I managed to get a pretty good quality for printing. Fortunately, it was a one-time project, and print photos of standard size very well. I appreciate the input! -C

  • Photosmart 8250 colors are far

Photosmart 8250 is a great printer for several years. (off warranty now of course) I did not have any paper or photo, 4 x 6, all power problems and had a paper jam. Lately color printing has gone wrong. I have never used a "recharging" printer uses HP inks. Lately, I've seen an error on the printers screen, he was on the sensor of paper being faulty. I saw this once. Also there is a small spot red on the lower edge of a part of the copies, which is new, so I'm sure I need to fix this printer. Still, it seems new and was without any other questions I read on I'd rather have it fixed rather than an Exchange.

The so-called paper sensor detects the paper type and sets the print as a result settings as I understand it so far. I've never taken this printer out, but I did it on other printers. Has anyone replaced a paper sensor in a printer like this? Maybe this isn't a big deal, but then again, maybe it's better that a tech that makes all the time should do?

Today is Sunday after Christmas, I'll call HP support, this week, but any advice in the meantime.

The paper sensor is used when the paper type is set to "Automatic", you can replace it by setting the paper manually type in the driver.

  • Photosmart 8250 works on Windows 7 comp., but can not find the box tool

    Hello

I have a Photosmart 8250 installed on a Windows 7 computer.  The printer works well and I know now that the HP Solution Center is no longer available for Win 7 so no Toolbox is available here.   However, HPs link called "What Happened HP Solution Center in Windows 7" it is supposed to be a workaround which indicates the Toolbox should available in the Presentation/Services tab in properties or preferences, etc.

My problem is that on my set up when I go into the properties or preferences, I can't tab called features, Services or Toolbox.

Any body got any ideas how I can get the features or Toolbox appears in Windows 7.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • HP Photosmart 8250 doesn't print... brand new

Photosmart 8250 - received the Member of the family, and it was never used. Connected easily, but window says ink expired... However, don't give me even a test page. I think that even if the ink dries, it would send the blank page. IE doesn't do no sound try to print etc. Diagnostics DL-says all right... Thank you

Many of HP ink cartridges come with a "best before date" in them and if they are expired they does not print whether or not they are really dry. Looks like you need to replace them.

  • HP photosmart 8250 test page has color photos and cyan lines

I have a HP photosmart 8250 which had a paper jam, and then I got an error message that says the print carriage was stuck and deserved to be deleted. I set myself with the help of HP printed tips on this Web site. But now, with a test print, it shows cyan streaks a horizonal while all other colors are OK. These horizonal trails in cyan cause photos to be striped. I put in a new cyan cartridge, and it's the same horizontal sreaks in images. Don't know if a manual of instructions for my printer that would be discussed or not.

    Tom

I already reported this, my color cyan in HP Photosmart 8250 printer was streaked in my page series of tests, and the images are out streaked. HP had resolved just before my problem on this part of the aid of their website which began as with a "paper jam" error message, which quickly turned to an error message "unlock the printer cartridge. I followed HP suggestion for this, by opening the plastic top/door on the ink cartridges, then open the next door plastic inside and the movement of the cartridge that has been on the far right, left, as the instructions said and I saw a little piece of paper that I removed with a pen to write with the cap on.  I printed the test page, and then the color cyan was marked. HP said, do not have it in front of me now, but use the print mode 'Best '. And the streaks in the cyan color went. I ordered a new printer, HP, of course, because of the quality and the helpline in part, and it sits in my living room, unboxed, now, because my old printer does not work. HP just helped lined themselves on a sale. I'll send a new back. Thank you for everything.

  • Photosmart 8250: 8250 printer does not print

Then received message "stuck carriage of the printer, difficulty and press OK button ' transport was not stuck. Push OK, again got paper jam message. Push OK button once again, print carriage moves back and the paper roller oscillates about 30 degrees, front and back, forward and back, etc., then get message jam again. Unable to get the printer menu. How can I solve this problem?

I understand that the rollers move, but you still get the same message. I recommend that you take a flashlight and the printer of the give a look deeper inside, to see you will find an obstruction. This could also be the result of a mechanical failure.

Due to the age of the unit, it seems that we have more access to documents of support for your printer.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

    • Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Please use these documents as a guideline, they should be relevant:

  • HP Photosmart 8250 printer

I have an HP Photosmart 8250 printer and use Windows XP Home Edition.  My printer will not read a SDHC card and wonder if there is something that I can download to do or if it is too old?  It says card access error when I load it.

For HP Photosmart 8250 printer, it does not support the SDHC. For the locations of card four memory, supports CF I and II, IBM Micro drive, Secure Digital card / MM, xD-Picture card, Sony Memory Stick, size maximum 1 GB.

  • Photosmart 8250

Steps on how to print from my HP Photosmart 8250 desktop computer. I want to print photos to "my pictures" in my desktop for my 8250 photo tray. It works very well insert a "chip", but does not select the photo tray when using the computer. It still prints from the paper tray.

    Hey stummer,.

When you try to print the photos are you making sure to set the parameters of the print driver for the photo options?

    Such as:

    • Click on printer properties/Preferences in the print window
    • Select the paper/quality tab
    • Set the paper type to the correct photo paper
    • Adjust the tray to Photo tray selection
    • Set the quality to the best

If you do not change these settings, then it will assume you want to continue to print from other parameters.

  • Photosmart 8250: No "print in grayscale" in Snow Leopard

Well, I just realized that my trusty HP Photosmart 8250 I've had for 4 years (still works well... built like a Sherman tank) doesn't have the "print in grayscale" function in the menu settings print after I've updated for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Even after the update for new drivers from HP, Apple and 10.6.1, they still don't come back. It is a huge disappointment, because I've used this feature often enough, especially for only black text documents.

Inkjet printers HP or multifunction currently sold have the "print in grayscale" function under Snow Leopard, or plan to HP on adding this functionality in a future driver? I really didn't want to upgrade, as always, this printer works and has served me so well, but if he goes, it goes.

    Message edited by MFfan310 on 09/20/2009 13:49

    Hello MFfan,

I think that grayscale printing is supported with inkjet printers HP and 10.6.  I don't have your exact model, but the feature set is pretty much the same for all HP inkjet printers.

I found the "Print in grayscale" option of the print - dialog box open the triangle so you see the print dialogue box extended.  Select the Type of paper/quality - open the triangle next to the menu of Options of color at the bottom in the center of the print dialog box.    In the "Color" menu, you should be able to choose the shades of gray, chip/sRGB color, etc.

I hope it works for you,

  • Photosmart 8250 not recognized by my iMAC... How can I get my iMAC to 'see' the printer?

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart 8250 printer to my iMAC (under Snow Leopard 10.6.4) via the USB cable. I downloaded and installed the drivers for HP printers on Apple's site, but when I go through the "Print & Fax' tile instead of '+' and then 'add printer' is not in the list of printers as if the iMAC does not see the printer...» Help please.

Thanks for the help... Initially, I tried reseting the printing system, but has not helped.

Ultimately after some trial and error, it seems the HP Photosmart printer is somehow 'paired' / 'connected' with my MacBook Pro. So he can register on my iMAC, you must remove first of the queue on the MBP and then it appears on the iMAC and may be included in the queue on the iMAC... even if it's just through a USB cable.

    Thank you.

  • Is it possible to print using black ink only with a photosmart 8250?

I only need to print in black, and I just put in a new black ink cartridge.  The other cartridges are empty.  Is it possible to say to my mac to print using black ink only?  Everytime I go to print something, even a test page, he tells me to resolve the error (empty cartridges) first.  Thanks, I hope someone checks this Christmas Eve!

The photosmart 8250 printhead a permanent.  If the printer has allowed iwith a missing color printing, it is likely that the print head gets dirty all the time and the printer would require service to retrieve.

You will need to have sufficient in any color and black ink for this particular model.

(There are many models of HP with integrated on the suplies of ink print heads.  These generally allow printing with empty cartrdiges or even absent, will automatically in the printing of 'reserve mode' using the available cartrdige.  Because of the standing print heads such a feature is not available with the Photosmart 8250.)
