HP Photosmart C4280

Please PLEASE please help!  My printer does not print. It has a "back to the top of Copies" that I can't delete & don't copy. It gives me a message that I have two printers put in place (I have only one) Please HELP!

You DID it!  You managed to guide me through this mess.  Thank you so much, "Kevin HP".  I went into the control panel and remove the 2nd printer which has been disconnected. He only went visually... I see it still in there, but it enabled the 1st list printer for the default printer and I FEEL! I thank you with all my heart.  P.S. Just out of curiosity, why my usually reliable printer suddenly stop print and stack runs in a holding pattern, as he did? I was wondering.  Thank you so so much.

  • Photosmart C4280 does not print on OS 10.6.3

    Hello

I've had this printer (Photosmart C4280 all-in-one) for over a year now and it was working fine. However, when I went home last November, I installed my most old (Officejet G85). Then, when I came back, I tried to print a document, but it wouldn't print. I googled the question, have searched forums and tried the HP Solve part of the problem, but to no use. I have also reinstalled the printer three times, but that has not changed anything.

The printer prints the page of test without any problem. The "error" print queue appears under the status tab, but gives no details.

I use a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz on a Mac OS X 10.6.3 with the latest HP 10.3 suite.

    Any help is very appreciated.

Personally, I think it might be a problem with ink cartridge, so you would recommend that you try the steps from the link I posted for you below. • Spare parts for everything in a HP Photosmart C4280

Hello, how buy that little plastic part that breaks while in a HP Photosmart C4280 causing the paper stop? Best regards Philip

I'm not really sure.  I'm an American citizen, and I've never been to Paris, so I don't know.  I know that HP has no official repair sites.  In the States, there is what we call "MOM and Dad" stores (basically just small local businesses) that can work on printers, but not HP affilicated.  You might find something like this here, but I don't quite know myself.

  • Used to scan HP photosmart C4280

    Hello

I hope someone can help me,

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and since then, I tried to use my HP photosmart c4280 to analyze my work.

I keep getting messages ranging from "scan cannot be initialized" "unknown error" "no scanner not found" etc. Everything worked fine until I upgraded my mac, and since then I downloaded and upgraded my hp, the latest drivers software, etc. and still nothing. I tried scanning through different programs - photoshop, preview, directly from a scanner, etc. and nothing. I have reset my printers on the system prefferences, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and I tried everything on the forums here and still nothing.

I really don't want to pay for an another printer/scanner when this one is very good and works perfectly well. All other functions work too.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD that is not marked as compatible with the 10.6/10.7 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard or Lion and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
    Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall< this="" is="" the="" scrubber="" option,="" there="" is="" no="" button="" labeled="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!

Finally, download and install the latest software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • yellow will not print photosmart c4280

My printer will not print or scan colors yellow / green. It's a fairly new cartridge, so I don't know that I him have not used everything up and on the levels of food its fine. I don't get the error messages. And clean the heads of printing and the allinged I level 1 and 2.

I advise to remove the Photosmart C4280 cartridges and clean the electrical contacts.  During this operation, I would go ahead and perform a reset of the ink system.  For more information about how to perform an ink system reset click here.

In addition, there is a document for the resolution of bad color printing problems.  The document can be accessed here.

    • Also, try to run all 3 levels of the print head cleaning utility.  He is trying to force the ink holes in the print head to try to get back to the normal print quality.

Let me know how it goes.

  • rattling noise Photosmart c4280

Recently, my Photosmart C4280 makes a quick loud pinging from the start under tension, or whenever I Press PRINT or COPY.

The sound seems to come from the right side of the unit, is approximately two seconds and sounds like a mchinegun continuous burst. When the noise stops, printing or copying function works and produces a normal copy. This only happens on the first page. If I have selected several pages the noise only occurs on the first printed page. However, when you perform repeated simple copies, the noise whenever I have print or copy.

I tried the following without change:

-Removed the back cover and it wiped all the rolls

-Deleted and reinstalled ink cartridges (resettled same cartridges)

-Performed a Hard Reset (disconnect from the computer, power cable printer disconneting & electric transformer, unplug the power supply from the socket wall, holding THE button 30 seconds, then reconnect the.)

-Conducted a partial reset (this product a new alignment page that I used realigne printer/scanner).

Power supply printer is plugged directly into the wall, rather than by the surge protector.

  • "Trying to login to scan...". "message from Snow Leopard - Photosmart C4280

I've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) and print with my Photosmart C4280 very well (connected by USB). I followed all the steps listed on this webpage below to configure my scanner and uploaded the drivers directly on the Apple site:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04510394

I was finally able to get the icon scan to appear in the printer (in System Preferences/printers & Fax) Brower window using the "Important witch hunt" on the site above, so then I tried and then click on "Open Scanner." But when I try to open the scanner via the system of preferences--> Print & Fax option, the preview option or the option of Capture of Image, I get a message that says "try to login to scan... "but it is never any more than that. I currently have this message for at least 5-10 minutes without change. I checked that the USB cable is connected to my computer and the printer, and the power cord is connected to the printer and a power outlet.

Please help me to recover my scanner!
