HP Photosmart C4680 scanning problems with Snow Leopard

I have a HP Photosmart C4680 All in one printer/scanner

Since upgrading my imac (early 2009 model) to Snow Leopard I have had problems printing and scanning

My scanner has never worked since the upgrade

printing has been uneven at best, but seems to be more reliable in the last week or two, since I downloaded the hp apple update the driver through the printing software update on my mac.

I deleted and reinstalled the driver several times

but nothing works

whenever I try to scan something my printer, the hp scanning software begins to open on my imac, and their broken quickly

If I try to open the program to scan my iMac, it crashes

Help!

I need to be able to use the scanner

That is why in the first place, I bought the printer/scanner combo

You must run the cleaner, if the question of fixing is not a standard uninstaller program.

Uninstall in itself is not always solve the problem, so there is a 'scrubber' in the software that really cleans things out.*Note * run this will remove all software that has been installed, HP so you will need to reinstall all other HP printers that you have configured.

Go to Applications/library/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP

Click on continue

Highlight your device in the left pane

Hold down the Ctrl and Opt, as well as Apple and click on uninstall

There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software.  (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, this is why we do not run this thing all the time)

Click on continue

Let the brosseuse it is.

After that, add your C4680 with printing and fax and let the operating system to search for updates and others. If it asks you if you want to download them, accept you.

Who should take care of it.

  • HP All in One Photosmart C7280 scan issue with Snow Leopard

    Hello

I bought my wife a new cool Mac mini. So it comes with Snow Leopard. We use it for our activities with an HP printer all in one Photosmart C7280. Unfortunately the scanner does not work. I did the mistack to install HP driver from the HP website and read after documentation of the HP Web site (probably like all users). So I decided to completely re-installed the machine (as it was new) and follow the installation procedure for HP who, to say that the pilot is coming up with Snow Leopard. After the new re - install, so I installed 10.6.1 patches and last HP driver from the site Web Apple as mentioned in the forum. (version 2.2)

The printer is correctly detected, but there is no way mak it work the scanner on HP procedures. The scanner is not recognized at all, and the printer configuration window is not appearing the scanning tab as it is supposed to. It seems that the scan part it does not work in one.

We love HP printer and it will be great to see it fixed.

My network configuration is very simple:

-192.168.0.176 is the IP address of the HP printer with 255.255.255.0 netmask

-192.168.0.106 is the MacMini (3.1) IP address mask subnet even

All connected using a router D-Link (5 ports).

Printer/scan function works perfectly on our other Mac systems that are under Leopard. I tried to install Leopard on the new mac mini, but the installation DVD that we have (10.5.4) does not start successfully on the machine. We are so stuck.

    Any help really appreciated

    Jean-Marie

    Hello

Good news, it worked. But I think that the problem came from the D-Link router that I used. Upnp has been set to allow, and it seems he mistook the discovery of the device. I proceed to turn off and the live showed you me overdrawn the printer on the network. I installed it, and the scanner has been recognized.

If I turned my back to Activate Upnp, the scan function is dead. Thus, it probably is a problem of compatibility between the leopard to snow and this Protocol. What is strange, is that our whole system of leopard work with upnp enable or disable.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help!

  • HP OfficeJet J4580 scanning with Snow Leopard

Hello, yet another problem in Snow Leopard here.

I've recently updated to Snow Leopard after already installed the drivers under Leopard. The printer was not connected at the time, so no snow leopard drivers have been installed.

I followed the instructions in this link to make it work under Snow Leopard:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01846935

I uninstalled the software HP previous, then deleted the printer to print & Fax system preferences.

I then added the printer again and he selected in the list. Drivers have been downloaded and installed by Apple.

Printing works perfectly, but there is no option to scan anywhere. Not in the Pref, preview or Capture pane. I even tried to delete and Add again with no luck

If someone could shed some light on why this could happen, it would be much appreciated.

This seems to have corrected itself with a reboot. Sorry, I'm not used to having to restart my Mac. It is normally a thing of Windows

  • NAT with Snow Leopard issue

For the poster who will say "Google is your friend", no it is not, or I wouldn't be here.

I tried for a while now to solve the only problem I have with Snow Leopard Server.

MySql has fallen lion and, apparently, no one knows how to use postgrl so I installed MySql and plundered with her for a few hours to get this working.  There were various other issues with Lion.  Finally, I went to Yosemite.  Hey Apple, where is the GUI?  Then at el Capitan and finally tried Sierra (no server app at all yet).

For me, each 'step-up' taking things and running weaker than the last.

Welcome to Snow Leopard.  I'll stick with it for a while to come.

The only problem I have with Snow Leopard, it's that when it restarts, the NAT will not start upward.  Other than that, it does a magnificent job to maintain my home network.  I searched high and low for an answer without success.  A few posters who have addressed this problem specifically here never got a response.

As this seems to be about three years or more, since this question was asked and it seems that some have migrated to the SLS, I was wondering if anyone has found a solution.

As it is now, as soon as there is a need to reboot, I just disable the NAT service, restart and turn it back on.  In the case of a failure of current (longer than the inverter can maintain) or just a random crash, I have to kill the firewall and NAT then the configuration of the gateway of new service that requires fixing the various omissions and errors and I'm good to go again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have posted in the forum of Snow Leopard Client.  I ask that to move this post.  In the meantime, you can see the various forums about this trick:

  • Is updated to V1.1.00.20 D6200 firmware compatible with Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8)?

Before updating the firmware, is the firmware upgrade compatible with Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8) V1.1.00.20 D620 and there are problems of people had at the time?

We're already having routing problems (the line is ok, but wifi creates connection problems, loss of packages and huge lag) so I don't want to upgrade my computer will not be able to enter the router system, otherwise it will mess up things more far.

    Hello Shemja

Yes, you'll be well updated the firmware, it should not affect connection to the modem.

  • OfficeJet 6210 does not work with snow leopard

My officejet 6210 worked very well on Mac OS 10.5. Now that I have snow leopard, when I try to choose my printer in system preferences, it says some software are absent, and the service program does not open. When I try, I can't print from MS Word and get the error "could not start the filter" / Library/Printers/hp/cups/filters/commandtohp.filter/Contents/MacOS/commandtohp "-operation not permitted.» Stoppage of work because the Scheduler could not run a filter".

I installed new software/drivers on the web for Mac OS 10.6, even if the software/drivers are supposed to come with snow leopard. I tried all versions of deleting and adding the printer, restart the mac and printer, etc.

Help! Ideas in addition to give up and go back to the old operating system or buy a new printer?

You always had the hp for 10.5 software on your Mac.  Either uninstall or install the new software does NOT uninstall the 10.5 software correctly.

    Try this:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Then, remove and reinstall the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

If this does not work, install the wrong since the CD software (for 10.5 and earlier versions) and above of uninstall routine to run the extraordinary.

After you get it to work, I would recommend against installing the HP software for your printer.  Scan by using the Capture of Image application into your Applications folder.

  • read the format exfat with snow leopard

I can't read format exfat with snow leopard. I use to be able to with an easilely program found on google, but since I reinstale my Os, I can't find. Someone know where I can find it? Thank you very much

exFAT, fat32 and ntfs are supported by Snow Leopard as reading only formats without 3rd party software.

10.6. possible it's not like block size, trying to backup, then fitness.

or copy the data to another device in another format.

  • Cannot synchronize my mac with snow leopard 10.6 with my itunes on iphone

I use MacBook with Snow Leopard, version 10.6 and sync to my iphone with itunes 6.

For these last months, the computer commented that the itunes on the iphone was not updated and cannot sync.

But the itunes on the iphone is the latest version. Is the obsolete software in my MacBook? What should I do?

Operating system of your computer is obsolete. A device running iOS 9 requires Mac OS X 10.8.5 or newer for synchronization; a MacBook must have an identifier of model at least MacBook5, 1 to run a compatible operating system.

  • Business Inkjet 1200D with Snow Leopard?

    Hello

I have a HP Business Inkjet 1200D and want to update to Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 to 10.6 Snow Leopard. I have discovered so far this printer is not supported by the snow leopard or Gutenprint.

Could someone please tell me if it will be released a printer for Business Inkjet 1200D driver that can be used with Snow Leopard?

If so, can you estimate how long it will take until that this driver will be available?

    Thank you in advance!

    best regards mxFred

If you use the Leopard 10.5 DVD and run the installation of the optional system, you can install the drivers of 10.5 HP and it worked for me. I don't know why HP says it is not compatible because my HP Business Inkjet 1200 works now fine with Snow Leopard.

  • Scan multiple pages into 1 file PDF with Snow Leopard & HP C3180

Using Leopard with my Photosmart C3180, scanning of multiple pages into a single PDF was intuitive, through a window of drop-down that appears after the first page was scanned, asking if there was another page. You could sweep dozens and dozens of pages that would go into a single PDF. As the overall scanning interface unusable a, the Device Manager HP and well Snow Leopard seems easier, it doesn't seem to be a way to analyze a 2nd or 3rd or 4th page into a single PDF.

The following sequence illustrates how now scan, using Snow Leopard and my C3180... Hope it helps anyone who might be looking for help. But can anyone help me with the problem of scanning multiple pages in a single PDF file? It is more a message or an option or a button, asking if there is any the following pages. Thank you.

Apple menu > system Pref > Print & Fax > Scan > Scanner open > (preview Scan appears in the display) > (on gray screento right overview Scan, name the file, select location & size, makeadjustments) > Scan

    redz1115,

Here's what I did to make it work...

Open Preview, select the file Menu--> import from a Scanner--> select your scanner.  The importation of the "Name of your Scanner" window will appear.

Click the show details--> adjust your size, and color settings uncheck 'Detect the separate elements', change PDF format--> click Scan

When its finished, preview scanning will open your new PDF page.  At this time, edit your document in the scanner and click the scan button again. Preview will add the new analysis of the open document.

    Hope that helps.

  • HP Photosmart Premium c309a doesn't fully work with Snow leopard 10.6.1

I don't see any answers in the Forum on my printer model, so here goes-

The printer is configured for a wireless connection.

Cannot get IPhoto to print on a photo plate, no matter how I play with the settings in the Menu print.  However, using the keypad of the printer, I can print from the photo tray color photos using a flash drive.

IPhoto and other apps, IWork 09 and ILife 09 will print to main paper tray, but not in color.

Using the keypad of the printer, I can copy and print from the glass in BW and color.

Cannot use Scan function Scanpro HP or the Device Manager, but can scan and print photo tray and main tray (but no computer or a drive - error message says no link found.

All reports - network wireless, Network Configuration, Fax, printer status, test and HP homepage, say all right.

I used suggestions from HP website without result, and the very nice fellow HP Chat Line, Manuel, told me in English that I have to contact MicroSoft for help.   I found a Web page apparently new to Mac users (HP printing from a Macintosh 10.5) and HP Mac-connect, but they do not seem to be updated for Snow Leopard.

I have reinstalled Snow Leopard, nothing helps.  I also tried the suggestion of Forum to use the option installs on my Snow Leopard disc, but when I go through the steps and software options are listed, the printer list shows zero KB and the 'Continue' button is grayed out.  No help there.

I also used most often suggestions - unplug the printer, restart the computer, etc, nothing works.

HP is still working for the full feature software and driver for C309a compatible with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). You can check on the HP Web site for updates. What you have there is just the base driver which is preinstalled on your pc.
