HP Photosmart software for scanner Scanjet G4010

I upgraded my computer to an HP Pavilion with Windows 7 64-bit OS.  I have a disc for the HP Photosmart software for my Scanjet G4010 but it is Version 9.0 for Windows Vista.  Where can I get a copy of this set of programs for Windows 7 that I can install it.

  • MX922 software for scanner problem

I love this printer.  Don't like the software that comes with it.  One of the things I do more often with the part of the printer scanner is to scan both sides of a cheque for electronic filing in my Bank.  The first thing I found was that my bank requires the cheque images in jpeg format.  I like to analyze controls in black & white to reduce the 'noise' in the picture.  Unfortunately, the Canon scanner software will not allow scanning in black & white jpeg, only PDF format.  Why?  It's one of the things that is most basic to do with a scanner, but your software won't allow it.   Seems pretty strange to me.  I found also not an option to set the DPI value for my scans.  And it will allow me to identify a destination for the image folder.  I am looking for a replacement software solution that will provide the options that I need, rather than assuming that I'm too stupid to know what I want.  Does anyone found a better software solution for the scanner?

    Hi tkrueger3,

You can scan as a black and white JPEG files, set the DPI and choose Save the location of the item using the driver of the scanner ScanGear, accessible via the IJ Scan Utility program provided with the printer. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. open the utility of scanning IJ.

    2. in the lower right corner of the window, please click on the SETTINGS button.  This will open the window of parameters (Auto Scan).

    3. on the left side of the window, please click SCANGEAR.  This will display the settings (ScanGear) pane in the right part of the window.

4 locate the Data Format field in the section to save the settings in the right pane of the window, then select the JPEG/EXIF.  Then please click the SETTINGS... button next to the data field Format, then select the JPEG/EXIF option the "Format for item detected as a Document in Auto Scan: ' and ' Format for item detected as Photo in Auto Scan:"fields, then click on the OK button. "

    5. in the field to save in, click the dropdown menu, then select Add.  This will open the destination folder selection window.

    6. in the Destination folder selection window, click the Add button, and then navigate to the folder where you want to have scanned documents saved.  If you need to create a new folder to save the scans, please click the button CREATE a NEW FOLDER.  Once the location has been chosen, please press the OK button.  You should now see the folder that you selected in the Destination folder selection window.  Click the OK button to close the window.

7 locate the window, Application settings, and then click the option DO NOT LAUNCH ANY APPLICATION.

    8. click on OK to close the window of parameters (ScanGear).  You will be taken back to the main window of the utility of digitization of IJ.

    9. click the button of SCANGEAR.  The ScanGear window will launch.

    10. click on the ADVANCED MODE tab in the top right of the screen.

11 locate the input parameters section, and then click the drop-down list next to the field area select the Source and select the option of MILLING table.

    12. in the area of the color Mode, click the drop-down menu to select the BLACK AND WHITE option.

13 locate the settings of output, then in the field of the output resolution, click the drop-down menu to select the desired DPI.  Please note that more the DPI is selected, the file is large.

    14. click on the blue button to PREVIEW at the bottom of the window to see a preview of what the image will look like when parsing, then make the necessary changes.  Once you have made the changes, please click the Green SCAN button at the bottom of the window to start the analysis.

The item will now be scanned and saved to the location specified above.

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows 8 drivers/software for the Photosmart C7280 printer/Scanner

    Hello

I have a HP Photosmart C7280 printer/scanner. I have recently installed Windows 8 Preview Release and discovered that the software I have installed Windows 7 doesn't seem to work as well. On the Setup, the only butotn displayed is "Exit" - that's why I can not install the software and drivers.

Are there solutions available for Windows 8 again (even if its only beta software - I'm happy to give it a go)?

    Thank you

    Jamie

    Hi Travis_C,

Thank you very much for the reply.

What happens to me with respect to scan using Windows' built in the analysis Assistant which is OK but that only gives me the option to save as a bitmap, .jpeg, .gif, .png or .tiff.

Software of HP that I used in Windows 7 accepted save me the scanning to PDF which is what I want in this case. Is it possible to get this software to run in Windows 8? In addition, will you be brining a version of Windows 8 of this software?

    Thank you

  • HP Scanjet G4010 Windows 7 software problem

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 and installed the latest drivers and software for my old scanjet G4010.  It will scan using the button on the scanner, but I can't adjust scanning settings (picture of quality, where the harvest, etc.).

BUT the scanner software does not work. This brings me through the installer without any problems until it reaches the actual scan wick. By clicking on finish, there is no process of scanning, and nothing is recorded. Have you tried several places, but... nothing.  Not in a satisfactory way, such that it has reduced what was a versatile workhorse to a silent photocopier.

    Is there a solution?

    Hi Paul2001,

I understand that since the upgrade your OS to Windows 7, you are no longer able to use the scanning software.

I would like that you start here: 'No. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined", that will guide you through the troubleshooting steps and also the possible solutions.

I would like to know if it was useful, if you have more questions please let me know.

    Thank you

  • ScanJet g4010 - software do not install windows 8.1 - 64 bit

I recently had to upgrade my computer - I have a HP Pavilion with Windows 8.1 (64-bit).  I have a ScanJet G4010 and can't do the drivers/software to install.  I've disabled my anti-virus (McAfee) and downloaded.  When I click to open the download it asks my permission to change settings, etc... and that's all.  It won't go any further.  Any suggestions?

In fact, I found and installed the new scanning HP for Windows 8.1 software - which is HP Scan and Capture (you can buy it in the outlook store).  It seems to have solved my problem and my scanner works fine.  Now, I just have to settle with the new software.

  • where can I get accompanying scanjet G4050 photosmart software

I bought my scanjet when I had XP to scan slides and it worked very well.

Have not used in a few years. Now, I've upgraded to windows 7 (64) and I have several slides to be scanned.

The scanner is not recognized by hp or scanvue (I used both a couple of years) even when I downloaded a new driver for windows 7.

When I plug the scanner in, the computer says it recognizes, and windows is satisfied with the order, but not only!

I tried to unplug power source disconnected and reconnected a half hour later. I tried all usb ports. I tried the scanvue software, but I guess that this machine is no longer compatible. I tried to restart the computer...

I tried to uninstall and then install driver for this scanner for Windows 7 hp.  No recognition. No software.

I can't find my original installation disk

I can't find the photosmart software on my computer.

Any suggestions will be most welcome!

Try to reinstall the full features software once again, but only after you have uninstalled the software/driver corrupt first and ScanVue.

Install Revo Uninstaller (free version) and run the program in Advanced Mode to find any left over files in the registry.

Clean all Revo concludes in the search.

Manually search for folders/files rest for scanner HP in the AppData folder (in Windows Explorer, go to view options and check the box show hidden files to activate the folder AppData be seen).

Go to the folder programs and find a HP folder to scan and delete

    For VueScan, also.

Now redownload them and reinstall this software complete features again. Follow the prompts during the installation.

Let me know how that turns out.

Hi there Bulldogs3, welcome to the forums!

I saw that you encounter a problem when you try to add your Scanjet G4010 to your Mac up-to-date 10.9.2. If you have not yet downloaded the installation for the Scanjet, please do it here: HP Scanjet ICA software for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.

If that is not always do the trick, follow these 2 steps and add the printer and back scanjet.

  • Scanner not found - Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan with HP Scanjet G4010

    Hello

I need help, it's driving me crazy. The last time I've used this scanner was a few days ago and now its does not work.

I'm Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan with HP Scanjet G4010, it's a plugin via the USB port.

I went on HP website for maybe update the driver, it seems that one does not exist?

I have unplugged and restarted twice and re-downloaded the 10.10 OS driver, just in case and nothing.

If I run the application image capture and the scanner appears under devices, research for a minute, then says "no camera or scanner connected."

    Thank you!

    Hello

Any compatible OS listed in the download section, it is incompatible with El Capitan.

You can try the drivers of Yosemite and check if they might work on the newer operating system:

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL53041/DP-154741-2/HP_ScanJet_v2.4.1.dmg

You can give also the 3rd party VueScan request a test, it seems to support your scanner without the need of additional drivers:

My operating system does not support the software of my printer disk. On the site of HP, which is the correct download to choose so that I can get this connection started?

Download the "Photosmart HP full feature software and drivers" If you want all additional software for editing, etc. If you only want to print (without the Photosmart Software Suite) driver, get the download named "HP basic driver" Photosmart.

Go to the Epson website and find the Epson perfection 1250 for
your version of Windows. I don't know if it exists or not, but if
for this, you will find it here.

Whenever you switch to a new version of Windows, you must install
drivers (software that interfaces between the hardware and)
Windows) for printers, scanners, video cards, etc., which have been
written for this new version of Windows.  And also note that you need
different determinants for a 32-bit version of Windows and a 64-bit
    Version.

It is the manufacturer of the hardware to write and
available to download these drivers. Especially if your hardware is
older, it is quite possible that the manufacturer has decided that it is not
a value of his time and effort to develop drivers for the hardware that it is
    selling more.
Check with the manufacturer or on their web site to see if a pilot
There are. If it, download and install it. If it isn't, you're out
lucky. Also consult their websites in other countries, if there is
None; Sometimes you can find the driver you need in this way.

In the future, before making such an upgrade, make sure you have
done the appropriate research to find out what drivers do not exist,
and so what equipment you need to replace if you upgrade.

If it's the Photosmart 1000, which uses the cartrdiges 45 # and #78 (introduced in 1998 about...) the driver Deskjet 970 should provide a good match for printing.  Go to the printers, add printer folder, and then select the Deskjet 970.
