HP printers

I bought a HP OfficejetPro printer Scanner 8710

Can I use the HP utility software to operate my scanner or go to System Preferences, then Scanners and printers, and run it from there?

Thanks Britt

Printer HP 8710 OfficejetPro scanner

That specifications indicate that it is an Apple AirPrint- compatible multifunction device. No drivers or additional software is necessary.

You can scan using native OS X apps including preview, Capture Image and the Scan tab in System Preferences > printers and Scanners.

Please read macOS Sierra: implement a scanner. Note the excerpt that follows, regarding the installation:

If you have a multifunction printer and scanner AirPrint, you have no need to check the software updates.

    Hello friends,

Apple documentation says that the network comments feature may be enabled to provide access to users invited to use Internet and restrict them from all the resources of the network.

I'm curious to know since Apple tags invited with the id VLAN network traffic can something like 1003, guest users will be available still use printers, Apple TV and Hi-Fi connected to the network main Airport via the configuration of the airport utility wireless?

    Thank you

No, it's all the sense of the guest network... not the LAN access... in the case otherwise you may as well give them full access. Once they access the system printer and music they can access everything.

  • AirPrint not seeing HP wireless printers

After the upgrade to iOS 9.x would not print my iPad and iPhone on the network home.  I uninstalled printers one re-installed. I rebooted the router and printers. Always Airprint could not locate the HP printers. Help appreciated

    Hello GT - LR.

I understand that you are no longer able to print your wireless printers are connected to your home network. The steps below can help to restore your ability to print successfully from your iOS devices involved printers.

Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."

    • On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, check that your device uses the latest available IOS and the app that you print from is up to date.
    • On your Mac, use software update to update the Mac operating system and the applications that you have purchased from the Mac App Store.
    • Check with the manufacturer of your printer to see if the firmware updates are available for your printer model.
    • You can connect an AirPrint device to your network, either by bypass surgery or a direct connection to your Wi - Fi network.
    • AirPrint devices connected to the USB port on the Apple AirPort base station or Time Capsule AirPort use AirPrint. If your printer includes AirPrint, connect it directly to your Wi - Fi network or Ethernet LAN port on your Base Station to print wireless.
    • After turning on your printer, wait a few moments before trying to print. Some printers may take a minute or two after power to join your network.

  • My new printer does not appear in the list of printers

I bought a new HP Officejet Pro 8715 and I had great difficulty it is set up to use. It seems the method to print and scan drivers has changed dramatically since my last new printer. HP supplies over a CD with the software, but rather is supposed to happen automatically via the Apple software when I plug in the printer. This was not the case.

At this point, I have the printer (4 hours) work, but I can't get the software "Readiris' of scanning to work. Yet once again, I am told that if I just plug the printer via the USB port and turn it on, then the OS knows what software to load. In reality, he doesn't "know" or "do" something.

I tried to configure manually by going to System Preferences > Print & Scan and then by clicking on the sign more to add the printer software. This will show you a huge list of printers, but the list ends with "Officejet Pro 8660." My printer is a 8715, so there is nothing for my printer. Installation of the software for 8660 did not help to solve the problem.

    Two questions:

    1. why list of Apple printers does not have my printer?

    2. How can I get the Apple software to see the drivers for my printer?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

    1. If the printer is a new model and HP did not provide Apple with the driver software, Apple would not list.

    2. go to the HP site to find and download the driver software.

  • Since upgrading to OS XEl capitan 10.11.6 canon printers does not work

    Hello everyone,

I went to use my canon printers today, (canon pixma ip4000 & canon Pro9000 MKii) and the system would go to print and it would come in place with the printer is not connected message. The printers were lit, and that they were connected to the system. I tried to use two printers and couldn't get anything to print.

I uninstalled the printer drivers and went to the Web site of Cannon to try to download the drivers again, but had no luck.

A Web site, I went to download the drivers detected etc I was running OS XEl capitan 10.11.6 and it says that there is no driver for this version available.

This could be the reason why I can't print due to the update of OS XEl capitan 10.11.6.

I haven't used my printer for a few months, but they worked very well the last time.

Any help on the matter would be great.

    See you soon

    royboytas

Yes, the incompatible drivers are probably the cause. Have you checked the tab updated App Store to see if there are new updates available? Otherwise, I call Canon and ask when they will be available for OS X 10.11.6.

  • What keeps visible Hello on the network printers?

    Hello

We have problems with a certain printer, which became visible many, many times on the list of visible printers on the network. OSX users still about 100 of these lines, which represents a single printer. Who is plugged into half a day already. It looks like this:

How to get rid of this...? What keeps this list life anyway? Other Mac computers on the network? Judging by the documentation of this HP, I'm not alone. But it is not explained how to solve this behavior. Any suggestions?

It is the result of a Bluetooth peripheral malfunction on the network, most likely the printer itself or a third-party router with incompatible settings or firmware. Restart the router can help temporarily. Otherwise, check with the manufacturer for support.

  • Where can I change printers?

My impression is currently set to a no default printer. Where can I change this back?

I think that this is not a problem in Firefox, but rather something with your computer.

For Windows 7 (Windows 8 too maybe?)

    • First, open the control panel
    • Now, click on hardware and sound
    • After that, click on devices and printers
    • Find your printer and right click on it
    • Select set as default printer
    • Firefox should probably print to this printer now, but if she does not try to go in the preview before printing

    For Apple and others

    • I do not know... Sorry
  • How can I stop firefox auto discovered printers on fedora?

On Linux Fedora (19 & 20 at least, probably others) Firefox automatically detects printers connected to the network, completely independently of CUPS. The printer it finds for me is legitimate, but it does not install the drivers to make it work properly. If this printer is used, it will display gibberish; control of PDF language, sometimes total sometimes undesirable. It restores the right page and tons of paper waste.

    Thank you!

    Thank you.

I found that avahi-daemon is the culprit. I just do a fresh install of Fedora 20. I have not configured all printers, and yet the printer 'bad' appeared in the list of printers in Firefox. After that I stopped avahi-daemon and avahi - daemon.socket, the printer went away.

I also noticed with my installation of Fedora 19, bad printer went if I put my computer on a different subnet.

So the next step is to understand how to configure avahi to not behave in this way when it runs.

    I appreciate your help.

      • Post script *.

I looked at what I could find on avahi, but seems not be one any affecting to ignore a particular host. However, after a survey, I found the right setting on my Lexmark E260DN to change. Under TCP/IP settings, there is a checkbox for "mDNS." The default value is on. Once I turned it off, that solved the problem, allowing me to reactivate the avahi on my computer safely. I had looked for something like this earlier, but missed, I was looking for things like 'Hello', "zeroconf", "DNS - SD" or something similar.

  • Sharing printers has stopped working for me. MacBook Air "think" printer is not connected.

Sharing printers has stopped working for me. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R340 connected by USB to my Mac Mini end of 2012, and until recently, my MacBook Air has been able to print to it. Now, he 'thinks' the printer is not connected. Computers are on WiFi. Both computers have an OS X 10.11.5 now and the latest driver of Epson printer. Printer sharing is enabled in preferences, sharing, and "Share this printer on the network" is checked in the preferences, printers and Scanners. I went through the hoops to remove the printer and add it again on the Mini and the MacBook Air.

Of course, the Mini prints very well via USB. Someone has an idea (that I have not already tried) how to get the sharing of printers to work again?

Other sharing services work, such as the file and screen sharing?

  • Not able to add printers on El Capitan

I have a late 2009 Mac Mini running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.  Since the update to El Capitan, I'm not able to add printers, or find software of the printer.  When I opened the printers and Scanners in system preferences, then click (+) to set up a printer, 'Name', 'Place' and 'Use' is not selectable.  If they are not selectable, how am I supposed to add a printer?

I have a printer Laser of Brother DCP-7065DN.  When I connect it via USB, it does not appear.  All ports operate. (I checked quad).  The cord works with my other printer (a Canon MX860), is not the power cord.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Visit brother support website and search for the latest driver. Download and install, and then try again.

  • does anyone know anthing about HP printers? could not find anything in the way of their

I just need help someone if they know anything about HP printers. I can't have the ink cartridge for free if I can change... even if I have activated & door open... any help would be appreciated... even if it is not a Firefox

Here is a link to the manual online for HP J4500-> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01770356.pdf

Replacement of the ink cartridges starting on page 106. There is more ATTENTION step 1 as the doors must be closed when you turn on the printer, the printer will not be communicated otherwise cartridges.

    • Step 1. Make sure that the device is on.

      • CAUTION: If the HP all-in-one device is disabled when you open the access door before to access ink cartridges, unit will not release the cartridges to change. You could damage the unit if the ink cartridges are not docked safely when you try to remove.

My advice is to do the following:

    1. Close all doors.
    2. Turn the printer off and wait 30 seconds
    3. Turn on the printer (all doors) and wait for the printer to settle. You will hear at the head of printing/cartridges move a little. Do not open the doors until the printer has been quiet for a few seconds.
    4. Follow the instructions in the manual on page 106.

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is a problem with the 64-bit, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers which causes the spooler crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:

    DeskJet 710

    DeskJet 712

    DeskJet 720

    DeskJet 722

    DeskJet 810

    DeskJet 812

    Deskjet 820

    DeskJet 822

    DeskJet 1000

The attachment contains a fix for this problem for Vista and Windows 7.

[The patch does not work for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 x 64 systems.  There are efforts to this address, if a solution is developed it will be shown here.  [{Edit - I did not progress by getting the patch to run in Windows 8 x 64.}]

First of all make sure that the driver for the installed printer.  If the driver has not been installed go to start devices and printers, add printer, the local printer, choose the appropriate port (for the converters, USB-parallel, the port likely USB001: or maybe USB002 :), then click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.)

Apply the patch as follows: log in to the computer with an administrator account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the trombone at the end of this post.  Save the hotfix on your computer, then unzip it.  Then, copy the three DLL files in the following directory: %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3

Note that %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems it will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, computer, and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it is in the right place.

This can be done from a DOS command prompt if BACK is opened with the "run as Administrator" command or to explore with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings, you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow existing files to be replaced if you are prompted.

This patch is not necessary and should not be applied to a 32-bit version of Vista or Windows 7.

Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris forguidelines for patch.

Update - here is that of the more detailed installation instructions:

Download the patch on the DJ_Patch.zip at the bottom of the page and save it on your computer.  Now click on the file and open it, and then extract the fix in a directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative BACK prompts by clicking Start, all programs, accessories, and then right-click on CMD. EXE and select run as administrator. Click in the DOS window, and then type the following command:

    MD c:\temp

    CD \temp

Now extract the patch files in the c:\temp directory (all, extract c:\temp chose as a destination).

[Update - Windows security settings can prevent these files from being used, please open computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.]  If there is a message indicating the properties file has been downloaded from the internet and can be blocked and then unlock the file before continuing.]

Then, click back to the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (the green stuff are comments, do not type them...)

*. DLL DIR (just to check that the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others).

Net stop spooler (ensures that the files are not in use.)

Copy hpvdb720.dll C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)

Copy hpvdb820.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)

    Hpwm5db1.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000 copy)

    NET Start Spooler

    Output

[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it's OK to replace the files, say "Yes".]

At this point, the patch is installed and ready to print.

Note that here printers do not support USB connections, they have only the parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer has a parallel port to use, it will be probably much less problematic than the use of a converter USB / parallel].   If you use a make you converter USB / parallel it is supported in your operating system.  The following messages are reported by cables USB-parallel that are supposed to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the converter USB / parallel besides the driver of the printer.  For converters supported, it is usually provided automatically in Windows 7.  Note: the appropriate to select for USB-parallel converter port is often USB001:.  I've heard of cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using is unable (after applying the fix) try to change the port by going to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties, then click the Ports tab.

Mick4 wrote: the problem is that I only could unzip the 3 dll files but don't know how to replace the bad dll files. Mick 4

If you use Windows 7 do the following: log in as a user with the administrater properties.  [The following assumes that you are using IE as your browser] Click on the here link and select "Save".   Once the download is complete, select "Open folder", then right-click on the DJ_patch.zip file and select extract all.   If extract all is not an option, then click on "Open with" and select Windows Explorer.

Leave the default directory and check the box "Show extracted files when you are finished", excerpt.   Click Start, computer, and type % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3.  Arrange the windows so that you can access the two parts of the window.  Go in the first pane and select the three files dll, hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll.  Now drag and drop them to the % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 window, select copy and answer to 'replace' in the dialog box.

Note: %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the Windows directory.  For most systems it will be C:\Windows, but it can vary depending on the configuration of NDO of hardware configuration of the computer.  If you type %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe in the address bar in Explorer or in start, search programs and files, it will find the right directory.

  • New printers this fall

I just read on the eprinters again this fall that will allow you to print from your smartphone. Sounds really cool. I was wondering if the software will be available for older printers wireless HP, like the HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web printer all-in-one.

    Thanks for any info.

    hikerpa:

As you note, the all-in-one HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web printer - C309n does not support ePrint. Unfortunately, we don't have any information at this time or not support ePrint is added to this printer.

If you own one of these printers, you can add and remove apps printing directly on the screen on the front panel of your printer:

-Add: Select the icon get more great in your print app display area to view a list of all available for your printer printing applications

-Remove: Select manage small Favorites button at the top left of the screen to your printer

You can add your printer on the www.hpeprintcenter.com site using the option "I don't have a printer code" in the dialog box add printer and once your printer is added can display printing applications available on the HPePrintCenter site and provide evaluations and comments on them if you wish.  Apps that you see on the site will be available for installation on your printer via Get More on the display on the front panel of your printer icon.

  • Pro Tips: Troubleshooting scan to E-mail questions in e-all-in-one printers and ePrint

    Hello e-all-in-one printer users,.

If you're reading this, chances are you have a problem of webservices in your HP e-all-in-one printer. If you can not scan to e-mail, use ePrint, or get a code application, this post is for you.

Many of later vintage (2010 and beyond) Photosmart, ENVY and Officejet series e-all-in-one printers share the same Web services and Wireless features. Within these series printer, you can enable wireless and Web services (ePrint, scan to e-mail, printable sheets) connectivity of the façade do their installation for use with Android, Windows, iOS, Macand Chrome OS much simpler than the old printer models. Of course, when things go wrong or there is confusion about the use of the printer and features such as printing and scanning to e-mail stop working, the correction of these problems is the same in most of the models.

WebServices are not connected: what affects?

When the webservices connectivity is lost ePrint, scan to e-mailand pads features will stop working. If you are just getting started with the installation of your printer, the inability to generate a code application (to add your connected HP printer or sign in to Instant ink) can be attributed to not being able to afford Web services. If you are affected by any of these questions, read on. I have some suggestions that might help.

    Ordinary remedies

    • Before set you Web services, make sure that your printer is connected to a network, either via an ethernet cable or Wirelessconnection. Print a report of Network Configuration of your printer front panel (usually this is located under Tools / reports) to confirm an active ethernet connection.
    • If you are connected wireless, touch the wireless icon printer . If you see as connected and there is an IP addresses starting with 192.168... or, 10 grand. If this isn't the case, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect you with your network name (SSID) and enter the password wireless you are prompted.
    • Ensure that the date and time your printer settings are correct. You can check and adjust this via the front panel of the printer in most cases and trivia: the printer Web server integrated.
    • Now, with network connectivity guaranteed webservices icon or (depending on model) and try to activate Web services.
    • If you have managed to connect and a leaflet printed, or at the very least, an [email protected] address is displayed on the front panel of the printer, perfect, Web services are now functional. This means that you can now ask your HP printer connected , or use one of the above characteristics *.

Note that ePrint and scan to e-mail feature are addressed later in this post if you still need help with these functions.

    • If the webservices are always not, try your printer restore default*.

    * Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom @hpeprint.com address that it will be permanently deleted. For more information on custom addresses ePrint, click here.

    Here's how:

    • The printer's front panel, press the Setup/key icon and then tap tools
    • Select Restore to factory settings
    • Note this new printer may contain this setting under the heading maintenance of the printer instead of tools.

Then, to reconnect to your network (wired or wireless) and try to set a manual DNS:

Make a note of the IP address of the printer.  Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:

    • Enter the IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer), and then press Enter to go directly to this page. This should take you to your built-in Web server (EWS) printer.
    • Click the network tab.
    • In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
    • Then click on the network (IP) address.
    • Click Manual DNS server.
    • DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8 manual entry
    • Auxiliary DNS server entry as 8.8.4.4
    • Click on apply to finalize this change.
    • Note that menu above EWS items can vary in overall models of printers. If you do not see the exact topics that I've listed here, the subtopic you should always appear on the Networking tab.

Then, press the icon of Webservices or and reactivate your webservices (required for scanning to E-mail, ePrint , and other functions).

Then, if a scan to e-mail question has led you to this position, tap the scan icon and enter the email address that you want to scan to.  Then, recover the PIN code that you should automatically receive by e-mail and complete your scan to E-mail setup by entering this PIN code in your printer.  Ideally, if you are able to get this good service will be fully functional.

Alternatively, if ePrint is your main problem and all the above (except for scanning to E-mail steps) suggestions worked, try emailing your printer a print job. If it prints correctly, ePrint is back online. If you are a user of HP ePrint app, the app did automatically detect your printer? If not, go to the application settings and manually add your printer to the app using either ask you code or IP address of the printer. Finally, if you're a printable, user use your favorite applications on the front panel of the printer, or via HP connected.

There are advanced troubleshooting steps beyond what I posted here and you can find them in the Forum such as displayed by the employees, Experts and members of the community. Start with the basics and if you still can't not to take advantage of Web services from your printer don't be shy to reach out - HP Support Forum's is a great place to exchange ideas and help each other to get the most out of our products.

Thank you for taking the time to read. If you have any questions or comments do not hesitate to answer.

    All the best,
