HP Probook 470: How to remove the fingerprint reader

How can I completely remove the software from the fingerprint of my Probook 470 scanner? It always requires 10 to 20 shots before he let me. It is a good idea in theory but boring in practice.

I could exit the fingerprint enabled option and just ignore it - but unfortunately it is bloatware. Whenever I go to the connection, it keeps the box frozen for several seconds, and then it will allow me to start typing my password.

I would go back to this nice simple Windows 7 connection that the HP software has hijacked unfortunaetly.

Sucess. I have it solved, but it is quite difficult.

First of all, I have tried to uninstall HP customer Security Manager but got the following error:

error 1325.hewlett - packard is not a valid short file name.

To work around this, I went into control panel / Device Manager and disabled the driver CD-ROM/DVD-ROM (no! I don't know why).

Then, I tried once more to uninstall HP Client Manager Security. This time he says that I need to first uninstall the following:

-HP Device Access Manager
-HP File Sanitizer
-Recovery of stolen computers HP
-HP Drive Encryption

Then I uninstalled the four of them in turn, rebooted and then uninstalled the HP customer Security Manager - which this time did actually uninstall.

The result has been successful. When I start my PC now, I can type my password instead of having to wait a few seconds while the HP bloatware gets himself sorted immediately.

Oh, and I also re-enabled my CD-ROM/DVD-Rom driver.

Weird.

You can disable it in Device Manager. If it's not ideal, I guess you could send the laptop to an ASP to have the fingerprint reader physically disconnected.

Hi, I got a damaged probably fixable Portege R200 (no, it's not stolen, legitimate sales). The machine does not start in its current state. Hello

To the extent where I knew the Omnipass Fingerprint Reader utility is responsible for this security.
This software is to be found in the control panel.
You can add and remove profiles (user) and set the settings to encrypt/decrypt the contents of the hard drive.

  • How to fix the fingerprint reader of the problems of compatibility with WIN 7 Sony Vaio VGN-SZ260P

The fingerprint reader does not work on my laptop Sony Vaio VGN SZ240P since I've updated from Windows XP.  There must be a problem somewhere online.  Everyone fell on this problem yet? And if so how do solve you this problem?

    Hello Jason,

This will be a little problem. The only available fingerprint driver is for XP, the operating system on this computer comes with. There is a driver at this location: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNSZ240P&upd_id=2134&os_group_id=13 which works on Vista with "loss of functionality.

So, if you have a 32-bit Windows 7 system (it will not work in a 64-Bit environment) do the following: download the XP / Vista driver and install it. Once its installed go to the program icon or the file itself and right click on it, selecting Properties in the window that opens. When the new window opens, go to the top row of tabs and select the Compatibility tab. When that shows check the box run in compatibility and mode in the drop-down list that appears, select Windows 7. Then select Apply and after that finishes select apply to all users. That brings up the same menu for all users - check the compatibility in the Windows 7 box, click on apply, then click OK and click OK.

If something does not work as I've described, post here with details and I'll try to work through it, with you. Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion dv7 6051ea: how to get the fingerprint reader works on Windows 10

Just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro for Windows 10 Pro. The fingerprintreader has stopped working. I find the possibility to set up, but the installation is grayed out as long as no driver available. Can't find one on any forum support? Anyone else having this problem and sorted it please?

On August 11. I've been running Windows 10 updates on a daily basis since the upgrade and now after a reboot of the fingerprint reader has started working? and remembered my impression as well. I guess that Microsoft dropped in a fix for this (which works for me) then maybe something to try?

  • Configuration required to use the fingerprint reader

I have a dv6tQE delivered later this week and I'm looking into how to configure the fingerprint reader.  I'm interested the FR for projecting my fingerprint with the plethora of passwords that I now keep in a Word document hyperlink.  Too much memorize.  I'm not interested in the security feature that requires a logon or a fingerprint whenever I start my computer.  I usually push on the button and then perform several tasks to something else and come back to the computer, wait until it is ready to roll without the need for an additional activity on my part.

The User Guide PDF downloaded States in part:

"In order to use the fingerprint reader, you must configure a user account with a password on the computer. This account allows you to log on to your computer with a simple touch of the designated finger. Alternatively, you can use the fingerprint reader to fill in the password on Web sites and other programs that require a login. See using the fingerprint software for instructions. After you have created your identity from fingerprints, you can configure single sign-on... »

It will be necessary for me to set up a user account for my login or can I skip that part and use the NOF for passwords only?  In addition, there is a link to the FR software guide?

    Hello:

Yes, for Vista fingerprint reader driver is the only one available, but you must install the software HP protect Manager security tools for Windows 7 from the model which succeeded the nc6400, who was the 6910p.

  • Portege R400 - how to get the fingerprint device to HDD unlock

    Portege R400 model PPR40E-00901LEN

I've had this laptop since 2007 new (approximately). I put the BIOS and disk passwords HARD and the biometric to unlock the BIOS, HARD and Vista drive. It worked well until recently. Result of an incident when someone tried to crack into the machine, it unlocks is no longer the HARD drive

The attacker confessed to the use of BACKSPACE to work around the footprint digital, correctly guessed the password of BIOS and going on to make several attempts to enter the HDD password.

Now when I try to access the computer by using the fingerprint reader, it unlocks the BIOS ok, so he remembers clearly to me. However, it is not open HARD drive. Apparenlty the fact that 3 + failures to enter the master password disk HARD text forces text of this password and no biometric entry. At least, there seems to be something like that.

    My questions are

    (1) in these circumstances, the BIOS anterio-rite the biometric to forget the HARD drive password?

    (2) or is still piometric my disk HARD but the BIOS password feature is not asking him?

    (3) if 3 or something similar, so this password is always in the biometirc device, how to tell the device to provide this password?

Please note that I can't in the BIOS right now, because do not unlock the HARD drive prevents the POSITION to perform.

Of course, I know what I really need to do is type the HARD drive password. Unfortunately in about four years, I forgot it. I hope that I can get into the BIOS if I remove the HARD drive physically, but wonder if there is something else I should do first in order to avoid making things worse.

    Thanks to hope

  • How can I disable the fingerprint reader? I use an HP Envy 15-k064nd laptop.

    Nice day

I just bought and Im the proud owner of a HP Envy 15-k064nd laptop.

I would like to disable the fingerprint reader, because he keeps asking codes while I type on the keyboard. Could you please help me telling me how I can disable the fingerprint reader please?

    Thank you

    Anne-Els

Please follow the steps as indicated below to solve the problem

    Disable the biometric identifiers:

    Delete the biometric login option:

Control Panel > biometric devices > change biometric parameters

Uncheck the BOX "Allow users to log on to Windows using their fingerprints"

    Save the changes.

To remove the biometrics data for all users, click the option button (round) "off biometrics.

    Clear validity sensor driver:

Validity sensor driver controls the fingerprinter material.

SimplePass software manages the password database.

You can disable the device.  The fingerprinter work not long until the device remains disabled.

Control Panel > Device Manager > biometric devices > right-click on Validity Sensor > disable

  • Pass simple - how to remove the conservation task bar it turned on?

    Hello

I own a HP Pavilion DV6 6053ea and I had a few problems with simple pass.  Before I installed it and it stuck on the taskbar in Windows 8.  Someone gave me a new update of the driver that has removed from the bar spots.

For some time he acted a little (my fingerprint reader would take several swipes before he woke up) and I have installed the latest version of the driver HPLite32_build_6.0.100.252.  It is not like I plan to work.

Anyway, he's back in the task bar and I would like to remove it.  Also the fingerprint reader is off most of the time and allows quick access very slow.  How can I solve these two problems?

The question might be one driver / software incompatibility.  In the past, when this happened, the software would simply "does not work".   I don't know where you came, that is the value which SimplePass version you were before and what validity driver version you have - the fact is that in this most recent version, there may be an error of "lesser" tangle, but not to destroy the facility.  ???

    For Windows 8

    sp58900 validity sensor V4.4.234.0 Win8

    sp58540 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.244 Win7-8

The above is an example of the 'Windows 8' and configured software SimplePass pilot that is currently in use on a large number of mobile phones.  Note the version number similar to the SimplePass to your own version.

If your driver version of validity is late, in other words, if the driver that you have on your computer is OLDER one pictured here, then I suggest you download and update this driver (as shown).  You are likely to have a better "match".

Next: It is highly unlikely, but you can also check to make sure that you have not inadvertently your driver to "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    Of your Deskop:

Control Panel > display icon > device management > biometric devices >

Validity Sensor right click > Properties >

Power management > make sure the box "allow the computer to turn off device" is DISABLED

When you make changes to SimplePass, expect not to complain (work stoppage).  When you look at it, not expect to stop working...

    General rules for success:

    • Installing the driver FIRST, RESTART
    • Install / repair software second, setting up the bases... Reset.

    ======================================================================================

First of all, before EVERYTHING CHANGES, make a copy of your Webcards.  The Webcards are similar to your 'Favorites' for your websites with passwords SimplePass attached.  You should make periodic backups and always before making changes or try to repair the SimplePass software.

    Export the Webcard database:

If you have working software SimplePass, export your Webcards before proceeding.  In the case where you must remove the SimplePass software, your webcard backup can be used (imported) to restore your Web site login information.

Start SimplePass > settings > Export

NOTE: File will be called *.tsd

Don't forget to perform backups periodicals webcard when you change passwords and / or add Web sites!

    =======================================================================================

To reset / repair software without deleting:

    Fix SImplePass software:

Control Panel > programs and features >

    Looking for this program:

    Click on HP SimplePass
    Select "repair".

    ===================================================================================

Remove it from the taskbar in Windows 8:

    • You should be able to go to the new startup window,
    • find the tile for SimplePass, right click on it,
    • and then pull it out of the new taskbar.

If it is stuck, it can take a bit more work... the 'repair' above for the progam can help - try it if the simple "right click and delete" does not get this out of the way.

    I hope this helps!
