I remember I put a password once, and then I removed the password once again, but now that I formatted my pc and returned to windows 7 ultimate, when I press F10 it asking me a password.   One step I would try (that I have not seen done) is to perform a hard reset and then reset the BIOS to their default settings, then try upgrading the BIOS.

  For the hard reset, just unplug the power adapter and remove the battery from the bottom of the unit and let sit without power for a minute... then re-connect AC/battery back in and power.
