HP ProDesk 400 G3 MT: upgrade to Windows 10

Hi all

I do everything before upgrade to Windows 10 backup? Looks like I got the answer of difference to this issue.

Is it possible, it will be the effect of the system on my pc, such as UBS or SQL funding. ?

Thank you.

Kind regards

Don't be swayed by the success of AN upgrade - as everyone's experience is different, and the old PC Win7 have had many problems to upgrade to Win10.

I've updated several Win7 PC to Win10 - and they had all these problems in one way or another.  Two of them do not have the upgrade so bad I had to put back their factory settings to retrieve them as long as you work. ... so I wrote this to provide advice to people considering such update...

You think about the amount of work that you want to post just to run Win10.  Seriously.

Some of the old Win7 machines came with two different graphics chips - and Intel, and then, either a processor AMD or Nvidia.  This was known as switchable graphics card or hybrid.  You have run using the Intel chip most of the time, but when you need additional graphics power, as in the game, the PC automatically switched over to the use of the AMD or Nvidia graphics chip.

Problem is, this requires special graphics drivers to work, and while those that are preinstalled on the Win7 PC, these drivers simply do not exist for Win10.  These drivers are not available from Intel, AMD or Nvidia.  One way to tell if your PC has two different graphics chips is to look in under Graphics Device Manager.

IMPORTANT: If there are two different cards listed, an Intel and AMD/Nividia, then you have this problem - and if you force an upgrade to Win10, you will have serious graphic problems and your machine will not work.

However, if you do not have this problem, to CAN pass to Win10, but you must be willing to do four things:

If you are determined to upgrade to Win10, you must be willing to do four things:
(1) do a full image backup of disk external drive or USB stick, capacity
(2) changes to the reserved system partitioning hard disk recommandΘes mΘthodes,
(3) use a different approach and maybe more than one, as Windows Update to do the upgrade,
(4) prepare for a clean install.

---------------------------------
1: backup of images:
This is VITAL, because the machine is doomed to failure of the upgrade, and when that happens, you will learn that GoBack to Win10 function is NOT reliable, and that can leave you with a corrupt machine that will require the factory reset and lose all that on it, to get it working again.

You can avoid this by making an image backup to an external hard drive or a USB drive using Macrium reflect (MR), which provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
(1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
(2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
(3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.
---------------------------------
2: System reserved for resizing:
There is a small partition on the HDD with Win7 preinstalled machines known as system reserved.  It is something known as the boot loader code.  There is 100 MB format: all that is necessary for Win7.  But Win10 needs 350 MB and, in some cases, is NOT able to resize it on its own. You will discover only this problem when upgrade FAILS and generates a message about cannot resize the system reserved.  IF this happens, you restore your PC to Win7 (that's why you need to backup) and I then have to manually use a partitioning tool to resize the partition system reserved for 350 MB yourself.
---------------------------------
3: use a different approach to upgrade:
Windows Update is the simpler, but less reliable, way to do the upgrade from Win10.  A much better and more reliable way is to use Microsoft Media creation tool: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10 choose the upgrade this option now PC.

After all this, you know that MS install drivers with only the most basic features.  Given that HP does not have drivers for your PC Win10, this limited functionality is the best you're going to get.  HP does not actively write new drivers from Win10 for the old PC Win7.  To keep all the features of your PC, your best shot is NOT to upgrade to Win10.
---------------------------------
4: be prepared to clean-install:
If you do all this, and after the upgrade, your PC works partially, this means that the upgrade is not well and stuff is still there the previous OS corrupt the functionality of Win10.

You MIGHT be able to solve the problem in fact a clean install of Win10. Problem is that, often, a clean-install does not recognize prior activation, even if it should. So, before doing the upgrade, follow these instructions on the community forums Win10 on creating a genuineticket.xml file: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/23354-clean-install-windows-10-directly-without-having-upgrade-first.html

You need more later to activate your pc Win10 after the installation of clean.

-----------------------------------------------

Also, if after the upgrade, you have problems associated with the drivers, if your PC has HP Win8x drivers, for drivers provided by MS that don't work well, you might consider using drivers HP Win8 - well there is no guarantee that these drivers will work.

Here is the link to the page of software and drivers HP product for Win8 to your PC:

If this page does not display Win8x when you open it, then click EDIT and select Windows 8 x using the menu drop down.

You may need to install the drivers using the compatibility mode: http://www.windows10forums.com/articles/compatibility-mode.7/

-----------------------------------------------

Good luck

  • Dv6t-7200 notebook want: how will I know if my computer can be upgraded to windows 10?

I searched HP website to see if my computer can be upgraded to windows 10.  I also tried the plug assistant in charge of hp and he has just directed me to a page of sale on windows 10.  I don't want to mess up this computer and reload all the software, if it's not compatible.  Is there a list of compatible computers HP or an app that I can run to check?  I lost a lot of time looking for the HP support for this information.  Microsoft told to go to the manufacturer for this information.  Help, please.

They are going to do this Web page to verify, you can maintain control, the link on the next page is still broken.

  • Prodesk 400 G1 SFF: 400 Prodesk G1 SFF - update graphics card

    Hello world

I have an interesting problem that I hope you guys could help me with.

I have a Prodesk 400 G1 SFF and trying to update the graphics card integrated with a GeForce 210.

The thing is when I put the card into the slot, and then start the on-board computer and the new

    come into conflict.

It seems to begin completely on the windows login screen, but the only thing you can see is the slider (when you move
the mouse) on a black background. When I remove the new card, the computer starts and the screen works fine

I tried to install the GeForce 210 drivers without the card in the slot, but then I get an error message saying that the
material is not found and can not continue the installation.

I tried to insert the new card with windows started (I know, not a good idea) to see if the installation process
detects the card then, but I got the same message "hardware not found".

It seems that I'm pretty locked. I can't put the card into the slot, because then the screen does not work and I can't
install the drivers without the card because it must be inserted in order to ensure that it can be installed.

You guys have any suggestions on how to solve this problem or someone of you had similar experiences?

    Appreciate the help,

    Fredrik

You are the very welcome, Fredrik.

Yes, without the new card installed... First go in the bios, turn on legacy mode and disable secure boot.

HP video card will not work on any HP PC that comes with the W8 or newer of the factory, unless these BIOS settings are changed.

Normally the PC won't start not even with those setting enabled and a HP not installed video card.

Then, after changing these settings (without the new installed card), reboot the PC and go into windows, go to Device Manager, click to expand the category of device display maps, right-click on the Intel HD graphics card, select uninstall and check the box uninstall driver.

Do not restart requested.  Shut down the PC and install the video card.

Turn on the PC, hope it works, and then install the drivers.

If you encounter problems (which I doubt you want) you can always remove the graphics card, clear the CMOS which resets all parameters of the BIOS to default values.

Then reinstall the Intel graphics drivers.

  • Can not activate Creative Suite after upgrade to Windows 10

Until last week the Office has been upgraded to Windows 10. I don't like it so I restarted it to Windows 7. Now when I try to open my Adobe CS product he asks me to activate. I have an iMac of 2014 that was running Windows 7 with Bootcamp.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 (using the upgrade option if windows) and everything was fine.

After a power cut I can no longer start Windows 10 so I repaired the installation.  W10 is working now, BUT the special keys on the apple keyboard (brightness, volume, etc.) no longer work.

I tried to re - download the software and drivers support for Win10 through Bootcamp Assistant, but he asks me if I want to delete the installation of Windows 7 (SEVEN Yes).

Download the driver appropriate for your model package specific to install Windows 7 and previous versions on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support on a USB2 flash drive and run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder when it is started in Windows.

  • Stuck to the "Mail Upgrade" status window

    Hello

After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, when I tried to open Mail.app, it shows me the upgrade message window and that's it. Nothing happens here. I've had this window for almost a day now; all buttons-'continue', 'Quit' is also grayed out. I tried to leave mail and stimulus but no difference. Also have restarted the MBP as well.

Hope someone can get an idea.

    Thanks in advance

  • I have upgraded to windows 10, reformatted then and then realized my Tbird profile backup folder has no mail, no book of addresses, etc. is there hope?

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and then reformat the computer, by using the backup and restore of Windows 10, programs advance so-called instructions to copy the profile to a USB for Thunderbird folder. Obviously I did something wrong, because there is not much there in the profile... folder no mail, no address book, a bunch of cache.x files that are for most empty and I did not notice that after reformatting. Is there a way to recover my old profile? Otherwise, I have at least one backup of the 2010 profile... (... sniff...)

  • How is done since the upgrade to Windows 10 I can not blockers advertising at work?

I had Avast Antivirus navigation secure, Ad Block Plus, Ad Block Plus Pop Up Addon, blocker of advertising from Facebook and Webmail Ad Blocker all installed and working great on a customers laptop, but after they have upgraded to Windows 10 all the addons disappeared. I tried to reinstall and the blue bar runs through to the end and it sticks on 'download '. Why can't I install?

If that doesn't fix it, the nuclear option complete clean reinstall, can help.

This means that you delete your Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not delete your Firefox profile (such as bookmarks and passwords) data, since this information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, follow these steps: Note: you can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

      ).

    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

It depends on if you have moved the default Thunderbird profiles locations and firefoxes.

If they remain in their default locations in appdat.

Type %appdata%\protector.exe in the search box for the start menu and press to enter.

Copy the Thunderbird and the Mozilla files to your backup device.

If you have changed the default settings, I guess you know where you have placed these data.

  • I started with a sec_error_unknown_issuer and now have a sec_error_bad_signature after the upgrade to Windows 10.

I upgraded to Windows of Windows 8.1 10 last night. I tried to connect to facebook, a few hours ago and find that I can't. The error is, "this connection is untrusted", with "this site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."

I scoured the help forums and have learned that it is because I have active parental control and trying to access accounts on an account of "the child". One of them suggested is to disable parental control. This is not an option. I absolutely must have Family Safety for my laptop.

This thread is very useful: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1075301. I did the first answer Philipp suggested, "Trust this CA to identify web sites", and I confirmed this change.

Now, whenever I try to access Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Youtube, etc, I get this:
An error occurred during a connection to www.yahoo.com. The peer certificate has an invalid signature. (Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I ran out of ideas. I went back to the thread useful and tried the next thing, philipp suggested: go to the Web page, "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2965142" and then clicking on the link "known issues for Mozilla Firefox users. The problem with this, is that the instructions seem to be written for a device touchscreen enabled; I don't have a touchscreen device, I have a laptop to play with without a touchscreen.

I know there is a lot of information, but I would really appreciate anyone help in my struggle to be able to access these sites without asking my mother to get on his administrator account when I want to access these Web sites.

in case you want to use family protection by intention, you need a configuration so that it can function in firefox and install the security certificate for the family that is getting used to intercept connections secure in the confidence of the ms browser store: while in firefox, click on this link - then must display a dialog on the addition of a cert. Please check the trust this CA to identify web sites & confirm the change.

Alternatively, you can also try the manual procedure described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2965142 in the section about firefox.

  • Upgrade to Windows 10 and the lost message filters

Upgrade to Windows 10 last night after having made a backup of Thunderbird with MozBackup. Profile of the restored this morning and lost all my message filters. Also lost all of my archived messages. Changed the path where Thunderbird search messages and more archived returned messages but still have no message at all filters.

in using the menu, select troubleshooting.
    Select the button view profile.
    Close Thunderbird.
Delete everything in the open folder, including subfolders.
Replace it with the same folders of your mozbackup (change Zip file extension and the Treaty as a zip file).
    Launch Thunderbird.

Now you should have all the right files in the right place, so everything should be back.

  • PayPal buttons no longer work after the upgrade to Windows 10

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10, but have always set my default browser on Firefox 39.0. Since then, I discovered some really weird things happening.

It is more disturbing with PayPal buttons. I kept a few Web sites and, even though I made no changes to the PayPal coding, the button does not appear on pages when I view it in Firefox. I can see them in Chrome or MS Edge very well.

Here is a page of one of the sites in question. : http://projectsister.org/ : this is a site created in WordPress. On the right sidebar, it would take a "Donate" button However, when I view it in Firefox, I see the slogan of PayPal ("PayPal - the safer, easier way to pay online how!")

Here is another example of a site that was created using Dreamweaver. : http://www.villagekitchenshoppe.com/take_a_break_class.html

So, as you can see, both of these sites have the same problem and they are not even related.

Does anyone have this seen yet? Is there a solution I don't know? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

    Thank you!

Firefox can display the "Alt" text for an image if the image does not load. The alternative text for the Paypal buttons orange is indeed "PayPal - the safer, easier way to pay online how! But why not load these buttons.

What happens if you try to access it directly? Right click > view Image, or you can try these links:

    https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/BTN/btn_donateCC_LG.gif

    https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/BTN/btn_buynow_LG.gif

(Note: mine include the language code en_US, which probably varies from one country to the other.)

Many users Windows 10 have been posted on the problems to access secure sites (HTTPS, addresses). If you get errors certificate, they are on most of the HTTPS sites or just a few?

Many HTTPS sites problems can be caused by Firefox is not completely set up to work with your security software. Are you not using Avast, ESET, Kaspersky, BitDefender or another program that intercepts your navigation for filtering?

Problems on a smaller number of sites could be caused by other factors, individual on the site or resulting from content filtering (for example, parental controls).
