NOTE: creation of ISO and ability of DVD burning software are necessary to complete this process.

  1. Create an ISO from a DVD of Windows 7 OS image file
    a. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in the DVD drive.
    b. open the ISO creation software.
    c. create a picture ISO of DVD Windows OS file.
  2. Create a temp "folder on the HARD disk and copy all the files from Windows 7 image in the folder"
    For example. c:\Temp
  3. Create a folder called wim' under c:\
    For example c:\wim
  4. Copy the install.wim and boot.wim , files located in the folder c:\temp\source\ to c:\wim.
  5. Download and install the Setup Kit automated Windows for your specific operating system version
    Windows 7:

    Windows Automated Installation Kit

  6. Start the AIK with administrator rights deployment tools command prompt:
    a. search 'Deployment and imaging environment tools' in the Start Menu.
    b. right-click and select run as administrator.

  7. At the command prompt, replace the c:\wim location, command:
    CD c:\wim
  8. Create a directory under C:\wim called "mount", command:
    c:\wim > mkdir mount
  9. Mount the WIM image with write permissions, orders:
    For the 32-bit operating system:
    c:\wim > imagex/mountrw install.wim 5 c:\wim\mount

c:\wim > imagex/mountrw boot.wim 2 c:\wim\mount
II. access to the directory where the drivers USB3.0.
For the 32-bit operating system: c:\wim > cd C:\USB3\x86
For the 64-bit operating system: c:\wim > cd C:\USB3\x64
III. Add the USB3.0 Drivers (.inf) file to the boot.wim image base 2
For the 32-bit operating system:
c:\USB3\x86 > /add-driver/driver:./recurse/image: C:\wim\mount dism
For the 64-bit operating system:
c:\USB3\x64 > /add-driver/driver:./recurse/image: C:\wim\mount dism
IV. unmount the boot.wim image 2
For the 32-bit operating system: c:\USB3\x86 > imagex / disassembly / commit C:\wim\mount
For the 64-bit operating system: c:\USB3\x64 > imagex / disassembly / commit C:\wim\mount
  • Copy time install.wim and boot.wim to c:\wim in the c:\temp\source\, replacing the original files.
  • Burn the files to a new DVD (make sure that the DVD is bootable) or create the image on a flash USB (UFD) drive.
  • Install Windows 7 as usual. After installation, Windows 7 will have the USB 3.0 correct and functional drivers.

      Hello

We have two identical computers HP SFF ProDesk 600 G1 running Windows 10 (64-bit) with the latest Windows updates installed. On two of them today, I installed the HP Support Assistant. The version information of the help Wizard says:

All updates to the support Assistant software have been installed on both machines.

Everything on one of the computers in Office Support Assistant works very well and can download and install the updates that are available on the other machine, the update process stops before downloading updates with the following screen:

    • ProDesk 600 G1 TWR: restore ProDesk for Win 7 Pro

      This is the situation:
I have a HP ProDesk 600 G1 TWR with upgrade to Win 10 Pro. Some limitations of the software, we need to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro. There is the HP Recovery partition but F11 does not work, I think because for some reason, the HARD drive turned to the dynamics. Now, like a miracle, I found the DVD of the PC kit, well well, I'm not sure complete if belong to this concretely workstation, but HP for the same model.

The question: what about the license? In my view, it is an OEM license and I don't have the key. Can I use the DVD Win 7 Pro for the recovery of the PC? What the activation process in this case?

Of course, if it is possible just to use the recovery partition, will be great.
      Thanks in advance!

      Hello:

You should be able to use the recovery discs to install W7 without key.

This member of the forum has just done the same with a similar business office.

His situation was that it has installed an SSD.

We have 50 HP ProDesk 600 G2 SFF pcs and we need to install Windows 7.i can't boot from usb or DV.

Please can someone advice me what to do?

      Thank you.

      Hello:

We must go into the BIOS, turn on legacy mode and disable secure boot to install W7.

Then you must also run this tool to set the USB3 drivers in your W7 usb flash drive.

    • ProDesk 600 G2 Mini: A Mini 600 G2 a NVMe M.2 SSD startup ProDesk?

      Hello

I recently bought a G2 Mini ProDesk of 600 which I am very happy with. However, I can't the computer to start from the m2 NVMe SSD I installed it. There is no problem to use it as a second drive in Windows and also no problem Windows installation on it, but even though I can see it in the BIOS and select to boot from, I get a message "no boot device."

Is it possible that a new machine that has a port of m2 in height, cannot manage boot from a drive is? HP has no information that I can find on this issue, or can someone help me find it? Anyone know?

      Best regards

      Tommy

I had a similar problem with the mini HP ProDesk 600 G2 and Plextor PX-G128M6e.

He helped disable legasy and loading security modes in the BIOS: Advanced-> Security Boot Configuration-> Legasy support turn off and disable secure boot.

And also disable PCIe power management: Advanced-> Power Management Options-> PCI Express Power management.

Without disable Windows power management could won't start the SSD with errors:

"The application or the operating system could not be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
      File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi
      "Error code: 0xc0000185.

After these settings Windows installs and runs correctly since the SSD drive.

P.S., Plextor PX-G128M6e is M.2 AHCI PCIe SSD, not NVMe, but can also be useful to someone.

    • MFS 600 prodesk: A power on password can be bypassed/deleted in ProDesk600

We have a user who is very computer savvy and gives us a lot of problems and headaches.  We want to stop playing with his computer.  We recently locked his Windows security, but he is familiar with the images and Acronis and made an image of the hard disk before the changes.  With the Prodesk600, the bios gives us the ability to have both a working password and a bios admin password and I want to put them both on his computer.  However, I did some research and it has been possible to circumvent these simply by pulling the CMOS battery.  Is it always true for new models like the Prodesk 600 (manufacture date around 2015)?  If pulling the battery removes these passwords, is there anything else we can do to lock your PC?

      Hello:

In the Security menu BIOS, must be an option to enable strict security.

Which prevents anyone being able to clear BIOS passwords.

BTW, there is a rider green to clear the password on all desktops HP business for a long time... certainly at least 12 years.  Rigorous security came to be on the models dc7900 (an ancestor of the Prodesk 600).

Remove the CMOS battery does not have a password for BIOS, even if strong security is not enabled.

Make sure that you save the BIOS password, because if you ever forget and rigorous security are enabled, you will need to replace the motherboard in order to access the BIOS of the PC.

Remove the jumper Pswd BIOS green with stringent security active does nothing.

      Hello

I bought my HP 600 G2 ProDesk not so long ago and it came with Windows 7 and Windows 10 DVD. I prefer Linux as my main operating system, it is what is on it now. However, I want to run Windows 7 in VMware Player of Linux.

I installed VMware Player and then installed Windows 7 on a computer virtual using the DVD provided with my PC, however, in the section Activation of Windows it says that I need a valid product key. I don't see one on the desktop itself, I can't find one on the media, I received.

Where can I get the product ID Windows for my PC?

My product no is P5U73UT #ABA

My serial no is [personal information deleted]

      Thank you

      Greg

Or even simpler... (if you can help the next scholar)

      # strings/sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM

As the command of "chains" is included in pretty much all Linux install

    • Adding SSD to ProDesk 600 SFF: where can I find the good material facility?

I bought the MFS 600 ProDesk. I want to add an SSD in the Bay 2.5 "and keep the hard drive 3.5".

Read the service manual installation on a 2.5 drive ", page 121 said 'Install four black and blue isolation mounting guide screws M3'.

      The manual says:

"NOTE: metric M3 isolation mounting guide screw can be bought from HP."

Questions about the addition of the 2.5 "to a ProDesk 600

      1. How can I get these HP?

2 are the sons of these screws compatible with most SSDS, more precisely from Samsung?  I have read conflicting information on the web (wow, contradictory information on the web? "It's shocking!)

      3. if HP screws are owners somehow, screws which can be used with standard SSD (thread and length, please)?  (I'd be happy to buy one of the SSD that HP sells on its Web site, but their prices are not compatible with other units currently available by a factor of at least 50%)

Thanks in advance for suggestions and answers

      Ok.

SSD drives are shock resistant. Which makes them very unlike electromagnetic inherited from hard drives, which can be destroyed easily by being moved or deleted.  That's why a lot of people just use tape double sided.  It is a solution of Occam.

    • ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

      C:\ > BiosConfigUtility64.exe /cspwd: "password" set: "TPM_Config.REPSET"
      < BIOSCONFIG Version = "2.60.13.1" Computername = 'HP600G1' Date = "24/07/2014" Time = "13:01:37 ' UTC '1' = >"
      < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Embedded Security Device" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
      < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [hidden device]] > < / OLDVALUE >
      < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [device]] > < / NEWVALUE >
      < / SETTING >
< SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Enable security on the next boot" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
      < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
      < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
      < / SETTING >
      < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "The BONES of on-board safety management" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
      < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
      < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
      < / SETTING >
< SUCCESS msg = "Successfully set BIOS config." / >
      < information msg = 'BCU return the value' real '0' = translated = '0' / >
      < / BIOSCONFIG >
      C:\ >

And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

      • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility

      • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters

      • Different passwords

      • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

P.S. This thread was moved from the company PC - Compaq, Elite, Pro for HP PC Client management. -Hp moderator of the Forum

This problem has now been resolved by HP.

They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

      Hello

I received a new HP ProDesk 600 G1 yesterday and have had no luck getting it to begin on a USB key or external hard drive USB.  I normally install our image Corp. (Win 7 x 64 business) via the USB port.  In the Setup program, the key USB and USB HD are detected, but no matter what I put in the boot order when selecting F9 for boot options, the USB device is not available.

      Suggestions?

      Thank you...

Problem solved.  In the Bios under Boot Secure - Legacy Support, Setup I changed to "Enabled".

For Secure Boot, I changed it to disabled.

    • Prodesk 600 G1 TWR: problem of power supply internal

Hi, I have a ProDesk 600 G1 tour version. I already bought a GEForce GTX 750ti graphics card a lay-off day, but when I install this card it says I must first of all insert the PCI-e power connector (connector 6 pin) and it no longer starts. My problem is that the standard 240W (?) Block of power SUPPLY of the PC is not enough as: 1) it is under powered and 2) power supply does not have a detached 6 pin PCI-e connector to plug into the map. I tried some of the PSU, but nothing I've tried works as my standard motherboard does not have a connector 24 pins, which is have the PSU.

Long story short, please tell us what modular power supply I can use (thinking of the Corsair CX600M) and will work with my PC. Not too worried about size - more concerned about a power supply with all the correct connectors. Thank you much in advance.

In polite terms (IMHO) @Big_Dave tried to explain that it is IMPOSSIBLE.

Because the motherboard only has 2 power headers (a 6 pin and 4 pin) that is not a standard ATX format.  You cannot use an ATX power supply, it will not work.  Here is a list of parts, graphics cards that would work with 320W PSU, your computer has.  The upgrade and Service Manual is here.  Please note pgs 11 + on the internal components.
