  • Recovery(D:) disque est plein.) How can I fix this please?

My Compaq Presario CQ60-320SA has a full restore (D drive.) I think I have saved some top backups when I should not have done. How can I remove all the things that are not supposed to be there? I asked Microsoft and they said I must ask to HP because the recovery disk is yours. Any helpful suggestions would be most appreciated.

It is that you're supposed to do when you bought the machine first. It copies the partition recovery in "D", more or less, and this is a precautionary measure, in case your laptop is so damaged that you cannot use f11 to recover your laptop. Read the tutorial. If you browse around, there are all kinds of useful information that you can use.

  • HP_RECOVERY Drive - do not know how to use it

I have never needed to use the HP_RECOVERY player and currently have PC problems where I might have to use it.  But, I think that my drive HP_RECOVERY is perhaps not current.  Please see below:

    1. problem Description:

-When I open the HP_RECOVERY (D drive is the 26/04/2005 update.)

-Does mean that this player has not been updated since then?

-Updates should be scheduled such that the C: drive is stored on the D: drive?

    -HP_PAVILION (C = 142 GB (= 97.4 GB free space) and HP_RECOVERY (D = 6.95 GB (space free = 880 MB).))

-Control Panel / Perf & Maint / system / system restore shows that the "turn off the system restore on all drives" is NOT checked

    2. Office Model = HP Pavilion, a1050y, PU131AV

3 operating system = Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

I apologize in advance for my very basic question.  But, basically, I do to make sure my drive HP_RECOVERY is ' day' in case I need to perform a system restore?  Thanks for the links or info you can provide.

Recovery partition is not updated. It's the original files to reinstall back to factory specifications, as in out-of-box again. The files that you have should be stored on hard drive external USB or burn to cd/dvd_not on the D:

  • EliteOne 800: HP_RECOVERY and HP_TOOLS missing partition after re-install-why only on one system?

    Short:

After you have reinstalled Windows Pro 8.1 with the original OS from HP on two EliteOne 800 DVD, I got scores HP_RECOVERY and HP_TOOLS on a PC, but not on the second.

    Long:

So I got two new 800 EliteOne out of the box, as well with blue screen (iastorA.sys). Sad quality question, but nevertheless, I got the 8.1 original DVD Pro with systems. So I reinstalled completely the two systems. Two BIOSES have the same exact parameters, the two systems are actually identical.

First installed very well system. The DVD of 8.1 drivers to install all the drivers, including Intel RST and SSD caching.

I see drive d (HP_RECOVERY) and drive E: (HP_TOOLS). At the time of startup, F11 works. In Windows, diskmanager shows all partitions.

Now to the second system. Installation went smoothly as well, BUT... I don't see the additional partitions. So F11 will obviously not work.

    What happens here?

I also recognized that on the second system, the drivers are not installed properly. Installing the software on the drivers disk HP tells me that everything is installed and I need to reboot, but no. On the next check, drivers were not installed.

    What else can I check?

    DH

After that I got a 3rd system with exactly the same issues, I believe that this is a generic problem with this type of system.

I formatted all drives outside the system. I used the Bootcd (i.e. UBCD) to do the same while the disc was still in the system.  Finally, I was able to successfully install the 3rd system. But I have in vain on the 2nd.

In any case, I put this in the list of the mysteries. I haven't the time more to study.

Overall, I am deeply disappointed with these HP systems.

  • (:)) D HP_RECOVERY

When you perform a backup of restoration & (including a system image) much of the time is the HP_RECOVERY creation (D.) If I created a disc repair system at a previous time and have the original system restore disks, is it necessary to do the HP_RECOVERY operation every time and deepen; It can be disabled?

    blue9,

I don't think you want to exclude the HP_Recovery disc. Go to the backup and restore Control Panel Applet, select change settings, select Let me choose, you can now choose which data files and partitions you want to back up.

You can exclude the HP_Recovery drive but should also uncheck "include an image of disk system: EFI System Partition, OS (C), HP_Recovery (D, since, in my opinion, unchecking does not this will back up this partition anyway.)"

I think that it will cause, after a restoration of the image, the HP_Recovery partition loss and damage recovery to factory Image. If you have created a set of recovery disc and put to the test, then it should not be a problem.

  • Disk Defragmenter cannot defragment volume HP_recovery (D)

There are 40% of free space on the C: drive.  There are 13% space available on HP_Recovery (D).   To function effectively, disk defragmentation requires 15% of usable space.  It is said to remove some unnecessary files on the hard drive, but he has little left to delete files.  I don't know what to do to be able to defragment the HP_Recover (D); that is fragmented btw, horribly.

What is your problem and you, why you have one?  Something or someone say you?

Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

  • Re-install the software antivirus Norton of HP_RECOVERY?

I just got my new CPU 8 h8z office.  I didn't know that it comes with 15 months of Norton antivirus.  I thought that Norton would be a trial of 30 days so I "uninstalled" because the window was annoying whenever I turned on the machine.  Now I look on my invoice and I see that I get "Norton Internet Security (TM) 2012 - 15 months", however, since I uninstalled it, I don't see a way to enable it now.  I don't want to do a system restore to a previous checkpoint, since I install all my new applications.  Is it possible to reinstall Norton Disk "HP_RECOVERY" or by going to the site Web of Norton (but I don't know any serial number necessary to install software)?

    Thanks for the tips!

    Peter J. Macay

    Hello

Try the HP recovery under the Start button Manager and all re - install individual program.

Recovery Manager---> reinstall the software program

Norton Internet Security is a software OEM and will activate automatically.
