HP Recovery Kit will re - install Vista if hard drive has been replaced?

Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope that I understand.

I bought a HP Pavilion s3050uk of second hand compact office, product number RY930AA.

The only OS on it is a trial version of Windows 7 Ultimate, little time to expire.  I knew when I bought but I was just able to reinstall Vista Home Premium using the HP Recovery Kit and the number of product key from the COA on the PC sticker.

However, I think now that the HARD drive has been replaced at some point - my machine has a 200 GB (Seagate ST3200822AS ATA) and I think that these machines haven't shipped with a 250 GB?  Now, I'm worried that I will pass on the recovery kit but it won't reinstall Vista because the hardware has been changed.  If it is probably the case of others has experience then I may as well save my money (which is very tight at the moment, where the 2nd hand PC) and put it toward the purchase of an operating system package full.

Hope someone is able to advise me.

Thank you

Stephen

If you buy a defined recovery disk and perform a factory original operating system image recovery and the partition scheme will be installed on the new hard drive.

    Hello

There is no download available on the Net and your hard drive as failed now, you are unable to make the recovery of the disks.

And you cannot use from recovery disks of a different brand or model (laptop) to reinstall Vista on your Tower / Desktop

  • recovery disc will work with the new hard drive

I have a HP Pavilion dm4. My hard drive died so I installed a new hard drive. The original operating system installed on the computer is Windows 7. I don't have a Windows 7 disc with the computer. If I order the Windows 7 HP recovery disk, it will install Windows 7 on my new hard drive? I got the info from COA. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If the new hard drive is having even or a larger size than the old, recovery disks will reinstall the factory OS on your new drive.

  • Recovery disks will not recognize my new hard drive

Original title: why I can not reformat my upgrded from vista to w7 disk

I can't reformat my vista upgraded to windows 7, as I tried to add another hard drive, which will not take my recovery disks. The message to reboot

You try to add an additional hard drive or you try to replace the current hard drive with a new one?

Recovery/restore disks are specific to OEM (made by the manufacturer that also makes your computer) unless you are lucky enough to actually have on the contrary an OEM copy of the operating system in question (Windows Vista I guess) and it is bootable and will guide you through a real installation of the operating system and not a "restore image."  What means what, is supported by the OEM in question for the method - no Microsoft.

Now - you may be able to perform a new installation of Windows 7 using the Windows 7 upgrade media you have - depending on how you got it...?

  • Recovery disks will work on my new hard drive

I bought recently a new Western Digital hard and I was wondering if I can use my recovery disks that I did on my old drive to the new drive, so it would normally be like my old drive before?

Not quite, what you have to do is open the CD/DVD drawer, while the laptop is turned on, to leave the drawer open and tap down.

Insert your first recovery DVDs and close the drawer.

When look for a starting message down to bottom left of the screen that says "press the ESC key to start options" to do this, and you will have a number of choices. Go to f9 and press ENTER.

Choose to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM internal drive and press to enter.

Now, who will start in your first recovery DVDs. It ejects automatically when finished and ask for the other two.

You could also simply start typing the key f9 to start upward, that you will also get the right window.

  • Windows 7 will not install on my hard drive SATA III, even if the installer and menu of the BIOS are localization.

The controller is enabled for all SATA connectors and the drive is one of the SATA 3.0 Gbit/s ports, I've heard is a way to get through. However, it did not, either. Can anyone help?

Here is what I am dealing with, set up a few hours ago:
    -Intel DH77KC card
    -Intel Core i7 - 2600K 3.4 Ghz processor
-Disk hard Western Digital 1 TB black
-Corsair Vengeance 16 GB of Ram
    -Corsair TX650 80Bronze
    -Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
It starts, and then Windows 7 gets no more than it will not be installed on the hard disk. I can't make a new partition, either, nor can I format the drive in the window. The BIOS settings do not exactly help because I'm not using RAID and FDI does not do.
    Maybe there's something wrong.

Try to remove 3 branches if theyre 4 GB each. See if it installs. If so, put the 3 branches after windows has been installed

This BIOS is on it at the mo?

MR PRESIDENT, I LOCKED UP MY HDD WD 320 GB WITH BIT LOCKER OF WINDOW 7. DUE TO SOME PROBLEMS, I CHANGED MY HARD DRIVE & FORMATTED OS WHERE I KEPT THE RECOVERY KEY. I COULDN'T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD AND RECOVERY KEY. I HAVE VALUABLE DATA in HDD. KINDLY HELP ME TO RECOVER DATA

    THANKING YOU.

Sorry, the news is not good. Some time ago, you have chosen BitLocker because you want to protect your data against unauthorized access. If someone had told you that anyone can crack the encryption by asking a little help in this forum, would you have chosen BitLocker?

BitLocker is as good as its reputation. Unless you followed best practices and created your own backdoor, your data is lost.
  • Service Pack 1 will not install after that the pc has been reset to the factory settings

At my pc reset due to problems of crashing and freezing factory settings, when turned on after resetting received masses of updates Service Pack 1 has not been installed, but it shows in the story as being successful. He reappears in the form of waiting for update installation, but when the terms & Condtions accepted the installation takes a few seconds, history shows successful but it has not yet installed. So I can't install SP2 to update Internet Explorer 9

    Hello.

Thanks for the reply. I found a previous question with a similar problem as mine, there was a solution that I followed and was able to install SP1. I should have done this before my question!
I also installed SP2. Resetting to the factory settings was a last resort due to a problem I was experiencing, but after installation of SP2 my original problem reappears. The problem is now in terminal phase and looks like a new pc.
In any case, once again thanks for your help, I know where to go with future questions I have.

  • computer will not install an external hard drive.

my computer does not recognize my external hard drive enclosure. I went to fry and the internal hard drive and the speaker works. I brought my computer to a friend's House and he read it to his house. It turns out that I had to put the jumpers on CSEL. When I got home and tried to plug it in, it won't read it again. I tried to troubleshoot it and he said that my mass storage device has a problem with the drivers. the thing is, he worked at the House of my friend with my computer. I do not understand and it makes me crazy. the only difference is that the reader reads to my friend's House and won't be at the mine.

    Hi danny,

Did you use the same cables in your home that have been used in your friends?

The physical location being the only variable might mean that a wire or cable is loose.

The reader must be reinstalled in the hard disc enclosure.

I recommend that you check for loose connections.

Your PC is connected to Internet at your friend's House?

whenever I try to install a program, a program of games even it is said of the missing security keys (in a way he described the characters in them, a short letter) or sometimes says that I don't have permission to make these changes.

    Hello

    1. What is the exact error message?

2 have you made any changes to the computer, before the show?

    Method 1:

    Run this fixit and check.

Solve problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled

    Method 2:

I suggest you to run a virus scan and check.
