HP replace HDD and boats

I need to replace my HP Pavilion 10-F001AU 500 GB HDD (the default is 320).  And I am an Indonesian.

I found this site:

http://h40059.www4.HP.com/warranty/information/FAQ.php

Q17. Will be affected my warranty if I install a non HP/option upgrade in my HP product? HP warranty applies only to HP and options products. If you install an option not HP in your HP product and this option then fails, you should contact the vendor to cover warranty on this point.

The warranty on your HP product is not be affected by the installation of a non HP upgrade/option unless your HP product is damaged as a result of the installation or the operation of a third option, this damage is not covered by warranty HP.

If your HP product is not working properly, it may ask you to verify that any option no HP is not responsible for the problem be uninstall items.

My question: is this term guarantee applies to all countries including the Indonesia or the United Kingdom only?

  • XPS 8500 - replacement HDD and SSD

I'm looking to upgrade of storage on my my Dell XPS 8500... My question here is twofold:

    1. I want to replace my current 2 TB HDD (disk storage) with a 4 TB or 5 TB of HARD drive. I will be able to use and see the full 4-5 to? Or is this a case where I will not be able to use the entire disk or will need to score? Y at - it an update of the BIOS that will allow me full access to training?
    2. I am also looking to replace my mSATA 256GB SSD (boot drive) with a 500 GB mSATA SSD... will it be any problem read this disk after installation (plan to do a clean install of Windows and reload my programs)?

Thanks for your help. Hoping to update soon, but did not buy until I knew what I was getting myself into.

Its a fairly recent machine with a UEFI BIOS, so it should be good... If you have already upgraded to Windows 10 then your system is already a unit of 10 windows and you should be able to clean the Windows 10 installation on the new SSD. If you haven't you should upgrade now as free upgrade expires tomorrow. #

You must use the SATA AHCI operation. I assume you have your system already set up this way as you already have a 256 GB mSATA.

    Hi all

I do not use my dvd player at all and I would like to replace it with a hdd/ssd.
    Any way to do it?

    Thank you
    Christian

    Hello

I checked specification for this Portege and can't find any info on this type of upgrade.

In the past, that Toshiba has offered several models of different laptops with adapter separated from SelectableBay HDD and instead of ODD, it was possible to put the second HARD drive. Unfortunately I think that it is not available for this Portege.

Have you tried to find some information about it?

  • HP Probook s 4545: defective HARD disk factory replacement needs and so new OS.

My HP Probook s 4545 was shipped with a HARD drive failure, the system could not book and therefore enter the diagnostics screen black and white, the after he failed the HARD drive tests, it looks like no operating system found etc.. I went to my local reps of HP and they said that the HARD necessary replacement disk and I need to install a new OS. With the HARD drive replaced, I have to install a new OS, however, I was given a CD of the OS (for w7 and w8, the pc has been displayed as w8, but came as w7) on the purchase, but it did not come with a CD key. I don't want to have the windows prompt activate coming on my screen so often, so I was wondering if I could somehow source a CD key for my CD of the OS. The normal response would be to purchase a new authentic copy, however, it was not my fault as it was, as stated, a faulty HARD drive.

No - the info is in the BIOS, not on the old hdd.

  • Satellite A200-1 g (PSAECE) Win XP. Need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300

    Hi all.
I would install XP instead of Vista on my note. As far as I know, XP has no builtin for SATA driver. I found no drivers for GeForce 7300 on the toshiba Web site. So I need drivers for SATA HDD and GeForce 7300. Where can I find them?
    Thank you.

    Hello

Why must you SATA XP drivers? You are not able to install XP because the HARD drive is not visible?

With regard to the nVidia drivers:
It seems that the A200 notebooks were shipped with a different hardware configuration.
Some laptops come with the Intel GPU and some with nVidia graphics card.
The Intel GPU driver is available on the Toshiba page.

Graphic driver nVidia can be downloaded from the site Web of Toshiba Canada or 3rd sites like www.omegadrivers.net or www.laptopvideo2go.com

  • Question of VAMT/Activation: Frequently reinstall Windows from Scratch - failing HDD and is about to replace it.

    Hello

My HARD current (500 GB SATA 3 HDD Toshiba) drive is defect and displaying a warning. I bought a new WD 750 GB HDD to replace by ensuring that it is compatible with SATA 3.

Problem: Reinstall Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010 Professional Plus activation of both of them.

Activation/products affected: They are "Retail" (MAK) versions, but University so the activation limit is between 2 and 5. (Yes, they are installed on a single computer, are genuine and conform...).

Background: I'm a college student, HE takes classes and we need to install a lot of software intensive resources. I usually reinstall Windows every 4-6 months to "Start fresh" I noticed increased performance and install only necessary software. It's up to the activations MAK is expected.

Aim: I would like to use the tool, VAMT 2.0 (or ideally 3.0 - but I have no knowledge of SQL). Also, I do not have a server, just 2 or 3 Mobile Standard (8.1 of Windows, Windows XP Home Edition and this Windows 7 PC).

I have already watched the video below on VAMT 2.0 before posting:

    http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/using-VAMT-2-0/10tkzhtlq

Can I use activation by proxy in this case to "preserve the Activations using VAMT to store Installation and Confirmation IDS to avoid having activation problems common? If Yes, can someone please help me?

I tried to put the Windows WMI firewall rules allow for the Public, home and work on both PC but could not activate during a previous attempt a few months ago.

Any help is appreciated more than. I am all my backup files and need to get this done before the resumption of classes at the college level (in 3 days).

Thank you in advance and sorry for the long post!

(I posted in the TechNet forums and I apologize if it's wrong to do it, it's just a relatively urgent matter - normally, I wanted to just wait a few days for a response).

    Can anyone confirm this?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

If you can get it on eBay the same drive, it will work with your laptop. Alternative check the user manual. You will find a list of compatible spare disks and don t forget that not all drives are compatible with all laptops. But the drives listed in the user manual are compatible.

AFAIK for notebooks with IDE interface there is a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that you can use hard drives 120 GB.
But in the worst case, you can use a 40/60 GB model.

  • Replace HDD on Satellite A40

I would like to replace the hard disk of 40 GB on my Toshiba Satellite A40 PSA40C-07VH3. I found that a few IDE 2.5 "drives on Newegg. Is there a size limit, should I be aware of? I'm leaning towards the 80 GB Western Digital model.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hey,.

Yes, there is a limit of due capacity limitation LBA 28 bits. This means that the laptop supports only up to 128 GB HDD (-online 120 GB is the maximum capacity).

With other words the 80 GB of HARD drive you mentioned will work correctly if you want or need 120 GB you can also buy this, that s your decision. As you already wrote, it is only important that buy you one with 2.5 and IDE interface that s all! :)

  • Replace HDD SSD Lenovo Y500 Guide?

Hello everyone I'm going to keep it is as simple as possible. I would trade my HDD in my Lenovo Y500 with a 1 TB SSD. My Y500 has the 16 GB of cache if that helps. I think it's a 2.5 "HDD but what kind. What is an mSata or Sata?

The physical installation, I can do easily, but what is the best way to backup and transfer things to the SSD?

I'm pretty decent with computers and I have some knowledge on this operation. I would like to transfer all my SSD HARD drive this includes the OS(windows 8) and all the other necessary components. I would do it with a DVDR that is 4.6 GB I think. It's a brand new computer, so I have no files, docs etc that I have to worry.

Please can someone answer my questions I would really appreciate the help of the community.

Please post a guide step by step for me and others to use!

    Thanks a ton

I found it easier to use an mSATA replacing the 16 GB one with a 256 GB SSD version. It runs at 6 Gbps.

Windows 8, I have installed from a copy retail DVD instead of imaging on the 1 TB drive. The activation key for Windows 8 is built in your bios. Windows automatically detected 8 mine installed without asking for it and active without problem.
