  The drivers for Windows Vista are compatible to Windows 7 and most of them work on Windows 7.
  Then you can try these drivers.

  But the drivers specifically for Windows 7, you won't find right now because Windows 7 isn't on the market yet. You must wait until the official release because some days or weeks later normally the drivers support begins.

  According to any documentaion, there should be a complete software functionality for Windows 8.1.

  I assumed that the full client software was wrongly not attributed to 8.1 Windows, I guess it should support it due the last date of update for this installation.

  I also tried to check by launching the installer... the system check was placed very well on Win 64-bit 8.1, without any error incompatibility...

  I think that no one is able to tell what American model is exactly the European F50 - 10K. ;)
  In your case I choose a F55 model and download the drivers. Try to install and see what happens. After this, you can post the result as it might be interesting for other users.

  Normally there is no significant difference between the F50 models.

  Furthermore, most Vista drivers should also work on Windows 7. It s worth a try! ;)

  I think that nobody can't say how long it takes until that Toshiba will get the drivers for this model now, but I can understand that not all drivers can be released in one or two days. I guess that Toshiba test riders before they download them and it takes a bit but I noticed that every day more and more drivers for Windows 7 will be available to check the Toshiba page from time to time.

  About Windows 7 drivers on the page United States it of really nice to read that you founded another model with the same specifications then I guess that readers should also work on your model.   Satellite U400D supports only 32-bit Vista and Vista64 because Toshiba driver download page I can only find drivers for these versions of Windows.

  So you should be happy with the operating system preinstalled because U400D is fast enough for Windows Vista. It should work fine with Vista.

  What you are thinking is a bad idea.

  The oldest version of Windows that is preinstalled on your PC has Windows 7. If you delete or overwrite the original Win7 on your PC with anything older (XP or Vista), you will encounter serious problems as there are often no more drivers for the hardware supplied with Win7 machines. Since it came with Win7 preinstalled, HP provides drivers for older operating systems for this.

  Drivers that will be installed will be Microsoft and those providing only the most basic features.  This means that one or more hardware devices will not work fully, leading to problems such as display resolution and WiFi connections.

  My advice is NOT to do the downgrade.
