HP SimplePass

I recently bought a HP ENVY 15-J150US and I noticed that SimplePass only works with IE. I searched for extensions for Google Chrome and Opera; and I could not find anything. These browsers are compatible with SimplePass; or y at - it plugins/extensions that I could download to make the product of the work with these browsers.

MJ,

Sorry to barge here...

Small question.

========================================================================

Are you running HP SimplePass series 8?

For example, you run HP SimplePass version 8.0.0.57?

Check Control Panel > display icon value > programs and features

If you are running version 8 series, I think you're going to use IE with SimplePass.

I'm not sure if series 6 HP SimplePass works with Opera, though the series 6 is supports Firefox, Chrome and Internet Exploerer (at least through version 31.x).

NOTE:

Series 8 and series 6 are not compatible - it isn't one upgrade on the other, although if you can run series 8 on your computer, you might be able to run the older version of the 6 series.  It is recommended to run the series of the version that is installed on your computer.

Open the page modules using either:

In the left column, click on Plugins. Look for the plugin SimplePass and change to ' activate ' "always enable".

  • EliteBook 850 G2: SimplePass absent of the software recovery disk

    Hello

First of all, I don't know if I post the question in the right place, and I apologize if I'm not.

I bought the laptop with windows 7 and received two CDs with it, one for install windows 10 and the other to re - install the software that came with the computer.

I used a program before moving on to Windows 10 * that has been activated with my finger, saved my passwords, and I was able to connect to my windows with the fingerprint account.

After the upgrade to windows 10 and install all of the software contained in the software recovery disk, I can't find this program.

This software should come in the recovery disk? Why is it missing? How can I get that again?

    * which I'm not 100% sure it was SimplePass

    Johnxy84 wrote:
Hello, thanks for the reply, downloaded the drivers but How to configure the fingerprint sign upother than to go through Hello windows?

    Short answer:

You configure connection of the fingerprint without after crossing the Windows Hello > PIN > enable fingerprint.

The fingerprint reader must be activated before it can be used.

Windows 10 fingerprint logon is considered "Primary" - in most cases, it is necessary to implement the login Windows 10 fingerprints before moving on to other programs / additional fingerprints.

    Longer answer:

I don't know the answer to your situation.

In general, everything works much better when you have installed the drivers needed for Windows 10 HP.  Your system drivers Support page provides 10 HP Windows drivers.

In general, it is necessary that you configure and activate the reader of fingerprints and footprints digital connect within 10 Windows before installing HP SimplePass.

    • Install the print driver provided in the previous post
    • Restart the computer and log in
    • Create the number of PINS and allow the fingerprint reader

    See:

Add or remove fingerprints - 10 Windows logon

    Comment

In general, after the login Windows 10 fingerprints digital works, and then you install HP SimplePass.

The repeated use of the words "In general" is deliberate.

Without the HP infrastructue which would be normally offered by the Drivers HP for Windows 10 installation, initial configuration of fingerprints is entirely dependent on the structure of the operating system of Windows 10 files.  It's not ideal.

In other words, things cannot proceed as you expect.

To make it more complicated, if Setup the initial connection of fingerprints is not working, then - to try to get the job of fingerprinting connection - you may need to install HP SimplePass before login footprint is functional.

Installation HP SimplePass before the login of the fingerprint is functional is not ideal:

    • Start the program SimplePass in the mixture can work (fix) - or to install SimplePass atop of a connection configuration nonfunctional fingerprints may not help at all

If you install HP SimplePass fails:

    • Installation HP SimplePass before the login of the fingerprint is functional can cause the user (you) to believe that the failure is due to HP SimplePass (when the cause of the failure is located somewhere else).

The question is perhaps the absence of a footprint of Validity Sensor Driver Update.

If you wish, try / use a different driver.  Although not specifically recommended for your system, the type of device is the same and the proposed driver supports a wide variety of systems / equipment.

  • HP Envy 17-N152NA: HP SimplePass Identity Protection software

    Hello

Not sure what happened to my original post, seems to have been deleted for some reason any...

Last week, I bought the laptop above, an HP Envy 17 - N152NA, model N9Q54EA, that, according to the specification of the store both the specification on the HP site that the book marks HP SimplePass Identity Protection software, but for some reason mine is not...

I looked into the Recovery Manager and it does not list even to be reinstalled...

There the fingerprint reader and biometric option in Device Manager and I can set up a PIN and then installation in the institution even if it is gray because I still have to add a PIN.

I noticed that I DO NOT biometric options listed in the Panel which, apparently, that should be, or it would appear when the software is installed?

If I go to the HP support and drivers for the laptop page HP SimplePass Identity Protection software is listed, I just need to download this? Should not be as it appears that 10 Windows will use its own method? or are the incorrect specifications? I suspect not as HP and the store say he has the opportunity and HP show the software to download.

Thank you and sorry sorry for all the questions and if my original message broke rules...

Hope you can offer advice (again) on all of the above questions.

I understand you had some questions about the HP SimplePass software among others, I saw your Product Details and you are right about it being a part of the package!

Please take a look and extrapolate what best fits your configuration.

Particularly interesting: in most cases, SimplePass works best if the other HP drivers on the system are also updated for Windows 10.  In your case, there aren't any Windows 10 HP drivers - you may be dependent on these 10 Windows installed with the operating system drivers.  This restriction may affect the installation of HP SimplePass.

Don't forget to keep update restore Points / creation and understand that you may need to try a number of things to get the job of HP SimplePass.

I've never up until I can slide finger (log or manually) to change the settings. All other Simplepass functions seem to work normally. Here is a picture of info system (with removed serial number):

I have replaced the driver and the software (and saved downloads ready to do both, because it's not my 1st lap around the track with Simplepass questions). But neither replacement fixed the problem.

I tried "Run as Administrator" by right clicking on its icon in the list of programs. I also tried restoring the system to the last point that I thought all software worked. No joy. Who is be the oldest available since the update system restore to this SSD. (After checking the upgrade, I allowed system to remove older Restore Points, but I think that they still exist on the old drive, which I converted to a drive USB attached that I now carry with me for occasions like this).

I also followed a suggestion to do a hard reset to see if that cleared up the problem.

Any suggestions as to what setting it can prevent from opening? Other suggestions that can help to restore the functionality of the system settings?

    Update:

Upgrade to Windows 10.  (To upgrade, not clean install).

Presto! SimplePass started working again - at least for login & leave me in the settings.

So far, it seems not inclined to work on board.
