HP Smart adapter

Hi, I bought my Envy 15-j151sa a week ago. A day after that I started to receive smart HP adapter message.

My adapter is now 90 W, I think about to buy 120W or better, but I'm not.

Hello

Through 7, 27 Page in this manual:
http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03943414.PDF

For the AMD processor model, 120W adapter is not listed.

Do a hard reset and check if the error comes up again.

  • Message on the screen "not genuine Windows 7' then 'join HP Smart adapter.

HP laptop, less than a year, running Windows 7, 64. These messages appeared on my desktop saying "" Windows is not genuine, Build 7601' and ' attach a smart adapter HP for maximum performance "."  I called HP, computer out of warranty is an extra cost, probably a virus.  I have 'Complete Care Protection Plan' of Staples - they do not solve the problems of virus free of charge, but he told me to start safe mode and run my virus program (Norton) and it should show if it's a virus.  I did that, he didin't show a virus.  I had a "Chat" online with Norton, he said, it is not a virus.  Maybe an update has not loaded right.  He gave me a phone number for Microsoft.  Out of warranty, I called extra charges.  I checked my "Updates" and found three that failed to download, so I downloaded them successfully.  Keep the messages.  The brightness of the screen changes also sometimes when I start so I must correct via the control panel and it sometimes takes forever to send an e-mail, especially with photos.  Is it possible to fix this without having to spend another $200,00?

    Thanks for the research.

    Hello 506,

I see that you have problems with some error messages on Windows 7. I have some suggestions that can help with this question.

  • Envy 17-j017cl TS: Smart adapter is dying, want to buy a new but I'm not sure what version it is

    I have a 65w and there problems.

    Can I use a larger as a 90w?

If this is not the case, what 65w charger is compatible with my computer because I looked on amazon and there are like 15 different.

    The specified adapters are:

    AC adapter: AC 120 - W adapter (PFC, S, 3 son, 4.5 mm) 710415-001

    90 W AC adapter (EM, PFC, SMT, 3 son, 4.5 mm) 710414-001

    90 W AC adapter (PFC, S, 3 son, 4.5 mm) 710413-001

    65 W HP Smart AC adapter (non - PFC, EM, 3-wire, 4.5 mm) 714657-001

    65 W AC adapter (non - PFC, S, 3 son, 4.5 mm) 710412-001

You can use the 90w or 120w. Bigger to carry, but the laptop does this power, he needs. The higher power will charge the battery more quickly.

Although this sale amazon does not mention your model HP uses the same different adapters in most laptops and you can buy safely with regard to the part number.

  • Smart HP adapter message

    Hello

I have this urge dv7 7250sb for a year now comes with an adapter 120W

Since yesterday, the message adapter smart hp keeps popping up telling me "power is low ' everything at stake."

He only said that while game tho. So I don't know what to do now.

I had a computer laptop cooling pad and mouse (with wire), so I thought it could be, so I plugged out them and the message still appears.

the laptop is still under warranty.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Stan555,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your smart adapter seems to have a low intake by playing games. That would be because the heavy game will have an effect on food. There are a few things you can try, however:

    Hard reset:

1 press and hold the power button / stop up what the laptop turns off.
    2 disconnect the power adapter.
3 remove the battery from the laptop.
    4. press and hold button power for 60 seconds (this removes static electricity).
    5. connect the power adapter to the computer and turn it on.
    6. turn off the computer and insert the battery. Then turn it on.

If these steps do not work, you can reinstall the ACPI device. To do this:

    1. go into Device Manager. Expand System devices.

    2. right click on the ACPI fixed feature button and choose uninstall.

    3. restart the computer. This will reinstall it.

After all this troubleshooting, try a few games and let me know what happens.

  • AC adapter mini-message

    Recently I received this message:

This message appears in the lower corner of my computer laptop 2 or 3 times stacked above the other.  I thought it was just the HP marketing buy some new product, but today I noticed that my computer was plugged in and not charging.  Unfortunately, I noticed too late, and he stopped.  Called the conceirge Costco service and they had me remove the battery, power cord and hold the power button to a minute... and then amazing, the adapter began to charge again.  They had no solid information on why it happened.

Is - this indicative of a problem with the AC adapter or maybe just a fluke?   Anyone experience this problem?

It looks like HP may have outgrown their smartcharger series, but may not be able to admit or repair.

Try a hard reset as follows:

    (1) remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    (2) press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
    (3) plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    4) press the power button

    Hello

I run a laptop of HP ENVY 15 TS with Windows 8.1. The battery life is very poor and I tried to keep still plugged into the electric network through my HP charger. Lately, in the morning when I first wake him up from his sleep and keep it is plugged. After loggin, I get the message of HP smart adapter saying I should take into account any other charger. About 5 minutes later, the laptop turns off. I have no problem using this stand, after rebooting the computer or during the night. Please tell us what to do. Is it a hardware problem or something caused by a software or even malware.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello @ptse,

If the laptop is not connected to the AC adapter and has left overnight, it is likely that the battery can discharge, unless it is left in a "sleep" mode type.

Marking on it said output of charge mode not 15.0V and the release of charge mode say 19.5V. The charger supplied with the CQ62 gives 18.5V. Both have the same exact connector to the CQ62.

I can't find the Combo cards manufacturer on any page of HP and looking for the adapter said HP pages it gives 18.5V, but it is marked 19.5V.

It will blow my diet or it'll work?
