HP Touchsmart 310 1100 HP Screen-No Black logo or whatever it is-just a black screen

Hi-

I have a HP Touchsmart 310 1100 which when I turn there is only a black screen and I can hear the fans running. No HP logo or guest to enter the bios, just a completely black screen.

I tried:

(1) HP suggested resetting the default bios (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02217843) settings by pressing f10, f5 etc.

(2) remove the hard drive, reinstalling memory, unplug all usb accessories

(3) used another power supply from an another 310 HP

(4) change the jumper on the motherboard from 1-2 to 7-8 and back to 1-2 to clear the cmos memory

I'm about to remove the cooling fan and the unit and re-insert the processor, but I wonder if there is something to try before that.

I'm starting to think it's a bad mother, gpu, or display the power inverter.

It is out of warranty, so if anyone has any advice I would be happy.

This seems to be a problem that has been listed in a dozen other posts without real solution given.

I solved my problem with my 310 - it was the CPU. Replaced with the same model cpu AMD bought on Amazon.

Works fine now.

There is no video card to replace on my model 310. There is a video chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

  • HP Touchsmart 310 Black Screen

I have a HP Touchsmart 310. Yesterday when I turned it on, I got the HP logo, and then the screen went black. I followed the steps of troubleshooting on other items of forum and reinstall the CPU and RAM. I got the video until I went to bed. When I woke up, the screen was black. I turned it off, turned it back, and the screen is still black. The power led is lit in blue, not flashing. I can hear the computer starts, but I don't see anything.

I also tried to remove, press the power button / stop for five seconds, plug back. Still no display.

I also tried hitting F10 to enter the BIOS, F5, the whole sequence to reset the BIOS by default. That no longer works.

    Suggestions?

  • TouchSmart 310 PC shut down

My Touchsmart 310 computer keeps closing down again, every time I have a film/video or play a game. I noticed that on the back of the monitor (where the cpu is) becomes very hot when I watch videos or play games, and then will follow the closing.

I tried to clean it, tried it cools by placing an electric fan behind it, but nothing works. What I have to put anything inside of the it - software or any "cooler special" so I can watch videos or play games without that it stops?

    Help, please.

Thank you. My PC is fixed (I hope that is not temporary). I didn't remove the back cover of the PC and clean some built dust on the fan, and voila, it's not stop more. As I said, I hope that this is not a temporary solution.

Thanks for the interest, I appreciate it.

  • TouchSmart 310-1125f: problems of RAM with Touchsmart 310-1125f

I'm having a time heckuva upgrading RAM on this machine. To start, I tried an upgrade of RAM several months to a year. I went to the product page HP customer care to find out what kind of RAM I needed, and how much has been. It does not appear that the RAM on the product page info is correct, because I ordered what I thought, it was EXACTLY what I need and when it arrived and I took the machine part to install the RAM, I discovered that there was NO WAY that I bought was going to adapt. Product page indicates the installed a PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 RAM machine. What I bought was the Office of PC3-10600 DDR3 - 1333 mhz 240 pin DIMM RAM. It seems the rub is Office RAM laptop RAM vs. HP's product page does not specify the Touchsmart 310 uses laptop RAM, or at least what I think is laptop RAM. The installed RAM is small (SODIMM?) where the RAM I bought to upgrade is great "stick" RAM. The RAM that is currently installed in the machine has a sticker that reads "1RX8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - B1. I just need to know without a doubt what to buy to upgrade RAM, because the machines performance is poor, return of points of sale by correspondence are a chore, and I don't necessarily like tearing apart my computer mainly for no reason. To add insult to injury, after I realized the mailorder RAM did not adapt, I handed the computer together without writing the specifications for the RAM installed to try to resolve the dilemma, so I had to tear the machine today (and put back together) just to get the RAM specifications. Thanks in advance for anyones insight!

The specifications of your system indicate the following.

  • Need help with the Support Assistant for TouchSmart 310

I tried to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant manually by searching on the HP customer service and it removed the previous version first. Nothing happened thereafter. I thought it would open HP Support Assistant after agreeing to terms and policies, but he did nothing. When I click on the HP Support Assistant icon, I get "year error occurred" on the very top of the page.  I am not in a position to make changes within the program - everything is gray.

I tried unistalling tune but I get a message stating: Error 1316 - a network error has occurred trying to read from the file c:\windows\installer\hp support assistant.msi. I tried to look for this file and have not found. I even typed in the search and was not able to find it so I am not able to uninstall it.

I've had this computer for a year now and have never been able to upgrade to the latest version of HP Support Assistant within the program. I'd get what your computer does not meet the minimum requirements and so I left it alone. The reason why I decided to manually update was because I have problems with the E: drive. And from what I read on HP, to see if I have a hard drive failed, I would need to run tests using HP Support Assistant, but unfortunately, I am not able to do this since I can't access HP Support Assistant.

    I have HP TouchSmart 310-1125f. Windows 7 64-bit.

    Hello

It is good to hear than the detected "Fixit" and was able to remove the existing installation of HPSA such as what can many fixed some of the problems that can prevent a new version installation correctly.

First, even if you always have the latest installer HPSA, download it again from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    HP Support Assistant.

One when you're done, open your download folder, click with the right button on the Setup, select Extract 7 - zip, select the files and then click Ok.  Open the new folder sp58919 snippet and see you another installer called Setup - this right click and select new, 7-zip, select extract files and then click Ok.  Open the new installation folder, the installation application ( 4th down with a size of 249KO ) right-click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.

Did the full install now and if so, HPSA does work properly?

    Kind regards

  • Touchsmart 310 1033 (Windows 7 Premium) computer: Wireless no longer works

I struggle to believe that HP does not have a better approach to the questions that a rude message telling a customer that his warranty has expired. If the warranty has expired, should be the end of the world?

My pc, Touchsmart 310 1033, running Windows 7 suddenly stopped wireless, about 6 months ago. I've not been around to attend to the problem, given that the network connection has been authorized with cable. Meanwhile, I had assumed that it was a simple thing, somewhere. But now, I start thinking that I'm wrong.

I'd appreciate a solution proposed by the community.

If you have a faild or defective wireless signal or the chip, and there is not much you can do, but you can buy a wyfy stick that resembles a Flash DRIVE or memory stick something like that and you can get your AIO to rework on wyfy

  • HP Touchsmart 310 1125y: installation of USB 3.0 in the Manager of PCI express expansion

The office, I have a HP Touchsmart 310 1125y, is completelystock other than 2 updates, I did. I installed an SSD and I also upgraded the RAM 8 GB to my computer. • TouchSmart 310 continues to close

My computer Touchsmart 310 guard to shut down every time I watch a film/video or play a game. I noticed that on the back of the monitor (where the cpu is) becomes very hot when I watch videos or play games, and then will follow the closing.

    Help, please.

I had a similair problem and cleaning had no effect. The PC itself could be too hot and closed after a certain time. When I downloaded CPUID HWMonitor I found CPU temperatures up to 75 degrees Celsius and above. I read undervolting CPUs, but none would work for me since the AMD units wouldn't let me undervolt. The solution was easier than I expected, I did not have right to Google. I downloaded the free tool of AMD Overdrive. http://sites.AMD.com/us/game/downloads/AMD-Overdrive/pages/overview.aspx my PC HP Touchsmart 310 now is on 24/7. I lowered the CPU to 1,2000 VID and the NB VID to 1.0000. CPU temperatures decreased even though they are still too high in my opinion, it works. CPU temperatures won't now over 65. AMD Overdrive is a great tool and if someone found even better settings, please let me know. And no, undervolting does not compromise performance at all, because these PCs are not suitable for intensive play and during synchronization.

    Leemdeem, welcome to the forum.

In the future, you should always make a set of recovery disks when you first purchase a HP computer.  This will save you a lot of headaches and money later.

Here is a form that allows you to order the HP discs.  Because the computer is more recent, they should have them.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

    Hello David Edward,.

Your system originally came with Windows 7?

Have you tried reseating the RAM stick? Sometimes, that's all it takes.

I got a stick go bad causing a system to have the exact symptoms you describe.

The system will use the built-in memory RAM. If the RAM is bad, it can cause the effect of black screen.

You can also run a diagnostic memory via the bios here test...

HP Notebook PC - detection of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista)

You can also run a memtest from a USB or DVD.

MemTest86 - Official Site of the x 86 memory test tool

Ideal would be to have another stick of ram to replace with to test.
