HP touchsmart adding graphics card

I have a question.

I have HP touchsmart computer, model 520-1070 uk with integrated graphics HD 2000.

Can I add a better graphics card HD to the MXM format on my computer?

It is very important for me, please help!

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP TouchSmart 520-1070uk and its card mother IPISB-NK (LavacaSB). According to the specifications, it supports;

1 taken Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM)
MXM 3.0 version: Type has
<>

In theory, this would indicate that you could install an appropriate type MXM card. In practice, this slot machine is designed for use in HP CTO models that come from the factory with the card already installed. Models with the card already installed have a completely different heatsink which hosts the MXM card. Your model has a heater which cannot recognize the cooling of a MXM card needs.

In addition, the cards must be from HP and are expensive. Also, you may be unable to correct the source radiator / fan assembly to use with the MXM card.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Is it possible to update the graphics card in this machine to something with a little more power? It would be nice to have a graphics card that can play games like World of Tanks for example. Recently, I have had this computer as a gift and noticed it came with a very good processor, I was wondering if I could use this computer for games rather than going out and buying another computer. Save as much money as I can.

  • Adding graphics card for HP p6637c but...

    Hi people, I bought my wife an HP Desktop p6637c refurbed and replace the CPU by a more powerful AMD 2.6 4 core, I had laying of another HP desktop computer around. I also changed the power supply to a 550 watts I had. So now I was going to install an ATI Radeon HD 6450 of 1 GB card into the PCIe slot because the 'embedded' GPU has much to be desired.

    So here's the problem/question: when I checked in the Specifications of this computer section, I got the following: "integrated into the graphics card or the card PCI Express x 16 slot are usable at once; they are not usable at the same time"in the dropdown under the video card section. She says that it can accept an external card, but then has an asterisk noting the message I typed on it, (in quotes).

    Frankly, I have no idea what they are trying to say! Someone understand precisely what HP mean?

    Thank you

    Hello

    The message that you're referring to means that you cannot use graphs two devices at the same time, so if you install a graphics card in PCI Express x 16 slot, you can only use it to provide video output (ie the on-board video chip will be disabled).

    Kind regards

    Hi, my graphics card failed and I just discovered that there was a recall, (limited), on it. IM out of time that I was not notified. HP support don't want to know, as usual, now what I can do.

    It's the support of hp link.  In the consumerist article, this is the link recommended by HP for cause of recall.

  • Adding graphics cards

    Hello world

    I create a card game where the cards flip and movable. For the moment, I'm trying to add graphics to my cards using the addChild method, but I'm not having any luck. My flip cards and slide properly, but I can't have graphics on them. I have the graphics related to the use of action script. I have my cards in memory.fla and uses two classes external .as (DraggableClip.as and MemoryGame.as). Here is the code for both. Everyone sees the problems in my code? Thanks for your responses!

    Peter

    DraggableClip.as:

    package
    {
    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;

    SerializableAttribute public class extends MovieClip DraggableClip
    {
    private var _type: *;

    public void DraggableClip() {}
    this.buttonMode = true;
    this.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);
    this.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, mouseUpHandler);
    this.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, mouseClickHandler);
    }

    function mouseClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    This.Play)
    this.removeEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, mouseClickHandler)
    }

    private void mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {}
    var thisMC:MovieClip = event.currentTarget as MovieClip;

    public void setType(type:*):void

  • Want to 700-216: adding graphics card for HP Envy 700-216

    I need to run two monitors on this computer. I bought an EVGA GEFORCE GT 610 card Dual DVI video outputs. Specifications of the card say the PC power supply must be 300 Watts and have 16 amp + 12 V available, whose power in envy meets 700-216.

    Plug the plug in results in no boot, no video card or integrated video and 8 beeps.

    Don't know if the card is not compatible, or the card is defective, or the PC has a problem. Is there anything I can check to narrow the problem?

    Thank you

    Hello:

    When you install a video card no HP on any HP PC came with Windows 8 or newer of the factory, you must change both the BIOS settings before you add your new video card.

    Please see this link for what parameters to change... you need to remove the video card if you have not already done to change the settings.

  • Update of HP TouchSmart 520-1040 a graphic card

    Hi all

    I was wondering if I could update the graphics card from ati 5570 2 GB in my all-in-one.

    The computer can not play a lot

    HP Touchsmart has 520-1040
    AMD A8 3800 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 4 (CPUs) - 2, 4 GHz
    Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5570 2 GB 1920 x 1080
    2 TB hard drive
    8 GB ram

    If so, what are my options when I want decent game cards?

    @xlChief,

    HP has just returned to me on that yesterday.

    I'll paraphrase what I was told. Unfortunately, it is not the best news.

    HP does not recommend adding a card MXM 3.0 to the AIO PC not come with one, because the thermal module is not offered for sale separately. If you install a video module without a thermal module, you may fry the card.

    HP recommends replacing the original card rather than add one where it is not already present.

  • HP Touchsmart 610-1180qd - update graphics card?

    It's customizable PC I: TouchSmart 610-1180qd

    Hello! I'm not a noob when it comes to computers, in fact: I am an expert technician. I know this question has been asked a million times, but I could not find a current thread for my model. I've never worked with before all-in-one desktop computer. I know that they are more closely related to laptops rather than desktops and that they will use mobile graphics because of this cards. I love this new PC, it has everything the most of what HP has to offer me for this model, except the graphics card. At the point where they did not offer me a good Nvidia 2 GB graphics card so I went with the 2 GB ATI Radeon HD 5570, who was the best at the time, and I'm not a fan of Radeon. I look at the list of maps they offer now, and they are all much better that what I initially offered me a month earlier, when I was building my PC. My card is still not listed as an option more! I'm a little upset. My current card is down the performance of my computer. Everything else is the killer. I experience lag on some games that shouldn't be known with high graphics settings! This thing has a processor 3,4 GHz with the addition of power up to 3.8 GHz and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM! No reason for any kind of lag, it... This is the graphic card... He is lame, I didn't in my PC at all, but I had to.

    Currently, the best maps that they offer right now for my PC model starting from 09/06/2011 is:

    2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M

    2 GB, Radeon HD 6550 has

    I prefer Nvidia card much more because I want to play Final Fantasy 14 online. They are specific to the Nvidia cards only. In addition, I always preferred Nvidia at the expense of others and am not loving this Radeon HD 5570 much or not at all.

    My question is: can I order a cards online that is currently listed for the configuration of my computer and then just install it on mine? The site says nothing about the integrated graphics card, so there should be a chance, I can update. This is the same exact computer, but they seem to change the list of graphics cards every few weeks. I don't know how to go on the opening of this computer to check. Any help would be appreciated. I love this computer to death but this lame Radeon graphics card is lower to paralyze it's game performace. I should be able to play all the latest games on the high graphics with little or no problems. This PC is a beast in all, buuuuut... I hate this graphics card which is currently in so much! I paid around $2 k for this PC AIO, and his graphic part is killing me for the high end games.

    Or... What other graphics cards that I would be able to put in it? Those registered are not really as high engine.

    Thank you!

    You'd be better off looking at all the previous discussions on this topic, is not easy to replace cards because they are portable format MXM cards and the HP BIOS is picky about which cards and GPU BIOS revisions he loves.

    In general, the notice was not worth the time, energy, cost and frustration to replace.

  • HP Touchsmart 23 F202IN graphics card does not support the 3D Vision I can improve.

    The graphics card that is provided with this computer is NVIDIA Geforce 710 a, which is not compatible 3D Vision, what I can do about it?

    Can I call HP and tell them to update my graphics card with something that supports 3D Vision (I don't mind pay a supplement) but what is an ALL in one, I know the graphic card must be soldered to the motherboard which is a very long process...

    Also could I just buy a NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit and do the work in 3D?

Unfortunately, no. HP is not in the business of upgrading systems of.

    If you are determined to have a 3D compatible computer system, you will need to either build your own or buy a system that is capable of 3D.

    The HP Touchsmart 620-1080 3D Edition desktop PC is the one you should choose.

  • Graphics Card (chip) Failed on HP TouchSmart IQ 790.uk.

    HP TouchSmart IQ 790.uk... Graphics card (chip) down, need a replacement. I have Returnd from PC World, but they said that they don't fix this brand.

    I phoned HP Serport, but they said he's too old (his only three years old) and would not help. I tried a store of the Local computer that does the repairs, they

    He had for four months, and then they told me to take it elsewhere. Its a good computer, cost nearly £700. How can I get it fixed please...

    I was looking at to the top of the plug on this machine and see that there is a tv tuner card. You can always try another video card and its use (slot specs say it has a PCI-e but not available). Must be quick and easy test if it will work. Unfortunately 3 years is OLD in the computer age. What 700 3 years cost is probably quite a bit cheaper now and much more powerful.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 860-078na: adding a second graphics card for HP ENVY Phoenix 860-078na

    I think to buy a HP ENVY Phoenix 860-078na and I was wondering if it is able to take a second graphics card and can accommodate a Corsair H60 liquid CPU Cooler. Thank you

    Felix, welcome to the forum.

    There is only one PCI Express x 16 (Genesis 3) slot for a video card.  With respect to liquid cooling, medium size case do not have a lot of space.  I have a Phoenix 860-170VR with an R9-390 X video card and it is extremely tight.  However, having said that, I think you wouldl be pleasantly surprised by the way the computer will be with existing components.  I can play COD series on the best settings.
