  • Screen of scrapie on Touchsmart IQ506 running Vista

I have a runnig Touchsmart IQ506 Vista and had a Windows Update three days ago.  Updated and now the screen flashes... Suggestions or ideas of what I could do to fix this?  Did a system restore, but that did not help.  Also, now when I turn on the computer, it takes about 3 to 4 tent to start to get past the splash screen.  When I turn it on, it will act like it loads up but then he stays on a black screen.  I know that when I did the update of Windows in the past, I get an error Code 646, that says its for Microsoft Works 9.  It shows that Microsoft Works 9 was updated and I think that's where my problem comes from but not real - you.  Another update, that he had been an update for nVidia.  Usually, this update would fail, but which also updated and now its icon appears in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hi Ashley,

Please, try the following steps and check if you are able to solve the problem.

    (1) please visit the website of HP and the Bios, graphic driver update & Chitset save on the device and then run it and check if your problem is resolved.

    (2) if the option above still does not, you need to run a recovery before this please back up your data as it will be lost.

  • TouchSmart IQ506 touch screen problem

Our company has recently obtained a TouchSmart IQ506 with Windows Vista 64 bit and everything works fine. We did a cool, been reformatting in the network and ran all the updates and others. As you may, or may not, know, the IQ506 isn't a VGA port to install a second monitor or to connect to a projector, so that to use the TouchSmart mirroring an image to the projector, we bought 2.0 of StarTech USB to VGA Display Adapter. I installed the drivers and got work and mirroring the image properly, however, now I'm having a problem with the touch screen.

The touch screen responds when I touch it, but that the pointer is emptied all the way to the right. Mouse follows my pen up and down with me, but it does not come to the left. It's as if the screen is only read the coordinates there where I touch, and coordinates x are blocked all the way to the right.

The touchscreen was working perfectly fine until I installed the graphics card driver and software for the VGA display adapter to work. The keyboard and the mouse works fine, everything is perfect except for this touch screen problem. I'm 99% sure it's a software problem, and I wanted to know if there is a known issue, or if anyone else has had this kind of problem. I guess this is the software for the VGA graphics card and I was wondering if this is the case, what I can do for the TouchSmart can support a second screen bypassing screen touch, or any other, problems of alternatives.

Sorry in advance if there is already a topic on this issue, I went thorugh the forums and can't find anything about it.

    RasterBlaster thanks for your comment.

I wanted to try something before your steps and I seemed to have solved the problem.

The problem is that the nvidia card driver was not cooperating with startech to the VGA graphic card driver. I uninstalled the nvidia card driver and all this work and am now able to see on both screens.

I know I'm going to miss some qualities of video, but from now on, everything works and I think it's what is best. I will try to reinstall the graphics driver, but right now, the problem is resolved. Thank you.

  • Unable to connect wireless integrated Touchsmart IQ506 to Netgear's WNHDE111 Wireless - N Access Point

I have a new HP Touchsmart IQ506 and the experience has been very positive with one exception: the Wireless-N networks.

I bought a Netgear Wireless-N reduction kit.  I am able to see (in the Vista network and sharing Center and available networks), using the Netgear Wireless-N USB adapter Netgear WNHDE111 Wireless-N access point provided with the Touchsmart IQ506 and connect to it without problem.  But I am unable to connect directly to WNHDE111 with Wireless-N adapter integrated the IQ506 (on the HP Touchsmart IQ506 or on another PC with the Wireless-N support, a Sony Vaio NS150 computer).

Ralink 802.11n adapter indicates that "working properly" in the Device Manager.

Am I missing something?  Are there instructions on how to connect the IQ506 up to an access point Wireless N with the built-in wireless adapter?

  • Windows Vista 64 bit does not install last version of iTunes

I just updated my iPhone, the recent phone must have the latest version of iTunes installed, I currently have 12.3 but I'm unable to download the latest version, I have Windows Vista 64-bit on my desktop, can anyone help?

I don't think that Vista will support the latest version of iTunes, which is necessary for the latest version of iOS. I will check something quick and get back to you. What iPhone do you have? What happens when you try to download the latest version?

  • Vista 64-bit and D7360

My Vista 64 bit laptop computer connects to my LAN via a wireless router.  My printer is connected to the USB port on my router.  My computer laptop 32 bit Vista print on my printer as expected.  My new laptop 64 bit will not print.  It goes into the print queue and just stays there.  If I connect my portable 64-bit on my printer via a USB cable, it will print.  What it will take to print when connected wireless to my local network?

Did you mean that the machine is connected to the router via USB? What kind of router is it and a USB device on the router is treated like a network or USB device?

I guess that it is treated as a network device. Installation of D7360 asks if the unit is placed on local (USB) or network, if the USB was chosen first, the SAME connection through network does not work. You need to reinstall the driver (or if you know pilots, you mangle via the reguistry). By the fact that you can print via direct USB, I think the easy way is to uninstall the driver (not just delete the printer) and install it again as a network device.

However, I can not even find the laptop on the Australian site. In fact I can't find anywhere what "A8" laptops at all.

    Can someone help me please.

I also checked some other sites Toshiba from different countries without result.

I wish there was an option to check through all countries, at the same time.

    Kind regards

Hmm... I'm not sure why this Tecra series is not listed on the page of the Australian driver Toshiba but same model Tecra A8E PTA83 is released in Europe also.

You can download and use the drivers for your laptop that appear on the page of the European driver Toshiba

    The drivers are fully compatible

  • New HARD drive installed Vista 32 bit, but need drivers for Satellite Pro A300-1MC

"Because my recovery disks that I made 3 years ago does not, I just installed Vista 32 bit and then on the Toshiba site, where I have downloaded all the drivers available for my laptop (a Satellite Pro A300-1MC) on a USB key (that I don't have a driver to connect to broadband on my laptop) and when I tried to open on my laptop a message comes up saying" Please insert the last disk of all selfextracting and click OK to continue. "

    So what I do now?
    Thank you

Sounds like you have enabled autoplay
Whenever you insert the memory key USB flash it will try and read the contents of the files on it.
You can disable this by holding SHIFT when you insert the USB key.
This should disable the AutoPlay option.
Then you can go to MY computer in order to access the USB key.

Note: pilots are zipped so you will need to decompress the content first, I installed a 3rd third party tool called WinRAR to unpack the packages unique.

  • Drivers Vista 32-bit works on XP 32 bit?

I got this HP model a6544f since a few months now and find that much too much my older hardware (scanner, etc.) and 16-bit software (which I use daily) simply does not work with Vista or a 64-bit OS. I prefer to use XP 32-bit where all happy lives on my old machine. But the driver for this system only specifies Vista 32 - bit or 64 - bit. I already added a "real" video card to get digital and put output at power level to manage this card. If necessary, I suppose I could live with the 32-bit version of Vista, but would really prefer to use XP. (I think of all the "improvements" in Vista as nothing else that candies for the eyes, and you have disabled as many of them as possible anyway.)

Does anyone know if Vista drivers 32 - bt for different systems of motherboard will install on XP 32 bit? It will make you life easier if they do!

    Thank you

    Greg

Hmmm... all the drivers I need are components of the motherboard . I was under the impression that HP (Compaq) plus their own Board of Directors. This would imply that it won't be manufactured by 'component', all the drivers no?

Motherboards are circuit boards, which don't require drivers.  Components (i.e. the device IC) soldered to the circuit require drivers.  They are made by the respective device providers. for example peripheral chips done Intel Intel, NVIDIA is peripheral chips NVIDIA, Realtek is peripheral chips Realtek, so on and so immediately.

And no, HP does not motherboards.  Even if it did, nothing would change, he wouldn't have the IC device used on the motherboard.  HP gets the device drivers to the sellers of the device, as everyone (including the motherboard manufacturers).

That said, you should have no problem getting the current XP drivers.  All devices in this system are suppliers that make drivers available to the public.  There are some sellers who don't release drivers for the public, like Atheros, Analog Devices, Broadcom (only for wireless cards), Sigmatel (IDT) and a few others, but your system does not all devices from these suppliers.

Here are the devices that require drivers of your system:

Agere LFW3227 Firewire (provided by the seller of BONE)

You are using a PCI-E graphics card so the drivers are not necessary for the graphics card Intel integrated, which is automatically disabled when you use the PCI-E x 16 graphics card.  FireWire and USB controller drivers are now provided by Microsoft for OS later to Windows XP SP1, make sure you get those through the operating system, service packs or Windows Update.

To answer your original question, some driver packages can support Vista and Windows XP.  For example, I downloaded a driver Atheros WiFi Dell's who did the support for Windows Vista.  But when I extracted the driver files, it contained drivers, and other files required for both Vista and XP, but the real drivers for Vista are not compatible with Windows XP.
