HP TouchSmart300-1100: HP TouchSmart300-1100 - 204 or 240 pin DIMM?

HP TouchSmart300-1100 - 204 or 240 pin DIMM?   Re: 2 GB (1 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600

Thank you

Hello

Your device supports 8GB max:

Memory slots: 2 DIMM

  • Maximum memory:

    • 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) (64-bit operating system)
    • 4 GB * (2 x 2 GB) (32-bit operating system)

    * Actual available memory may be less

  • You can have 2 GB + 4 = 6 GB but to get the full benefit of dual channel, you have same type of RAM, same capacity RAM and even same brand of RAM in two slots...

Kind regards.

Hi - I'm confused and need help. I want to upgrade my RAM 8 GB to 16GB. According to records online for my model, I need 2-204 pin DDR3 DIMM. I have been in contact with Crucial for ordering a couple, but they insist that I need the DIMM 240-pin. They suggest that it is perhaps typo on the HP site because 204 pins are for laptops. I sent them a copy of the sheet of HP and they insist that I need 240 pin.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Greetings,

banhien and Crucial are correct. 204 pins is the memory of the laptop and there is typo on Memphis B memory specifications...

It's your motherboard, Memphis B. Watching chipset is an Intel H87. It shows two supports DIMM DDR3 204 pins.

It is the motherboard HP S of Memphis. Watching chipset is an Intel H87. It shows two supports DDR3 240-pin DIMM.

  • HP 110-406: upgrading RAM HP 110-406

I'm trying to update my RAM in my computer and the site of product specification information is incorrect. I'll attatch a link. The site says the computer takes 240 pin DIMM RAM, but when I opened the computer I found that there are two slots for RAM SODIMM 204 pins. I bought 8 GB of RAM to upgrade and when I put them in the computer does not start up time. Have I not bad RAM? IS my Windows 32-bit version? What I am doing wrong?

You did not post all the links, so I will.  Your system can be found here, according to spec it is 64-bit.   I check the memory via the (1) PartSurfer for the numberandhere for an example.  You're right, there are 204 PIN.

Only modules 4 GB manuf. for your system will work.  You did not specify the source, or whether these modules have been approved for the system.  Only specific modules work in specific machines.

  • Cannot find the RAM for my iMac

I can't find my DIMMS (1333 mhz for an iMac mid-2011) on the Apple Store. I even searched the model # (PC3-10600) and they are apparently non-existent Apple is concerned. So I started searching Amazon, etc. I looked for that model # and a lot of sources that seem to match the specification EXCEPT that they were all the 240 pins. I can't find a 204 pins. What is going on? My Mac has really slowed down with all the OSX improvements and so on. I want to add 2 DIMMS to 4 GB, but I don't want to order something on the market after if it does of course. THX.

Check that... I've did some more research and I found some 204 pins. Interestingly, several of them say 240 pins. What typo perhaps? Is it reliable aftermarket DIMM? Who are the good manufacturers?

  • Upgrade RAM iMac 27 5 k 2014

Hello all, I would like updating ram, currently, the iMac iMac 27 5 k 2014, has 8 GB. I would like to know if it is advisable to be upgraded by adding strips of memory RAM of the same capacity in GB or you can also, for example, to add to the current 8 GB (4 + 4) two banks of 8 GB, then a configuration 4 + 4 + 8 + 8 for a total of 24 GB? I had read in some forum that the RAM works better if the banks have the same size. I would like to know if the Rams who are currently inside iMac have the DDR or DDRL? Because I noticed that many manufacturers specify the voltage of 1.35v or 1.5V. Thanks... and sorry for the bad English.

Models of 5K 2014 27 inch supports up to 32 GB.

Install the memory in an iMac - Apple Support

Memory is generally sold in the form of kits because the memory even from the same manufacturer with the same capacity is recommended.  If you want to 24GO then buy a 24GO kit that has four sticks of 6 GB or 12 GB two sticks.  However, this model iMac only supports 4 GB and 8 GB sticks.  The memory specifications call for DDR3, not DD3L.

If you have four memory locations that you have two channels, each with their own bank.  Although you can use a different capacity for each channel, the two sides of the same channel must be identical.  It is always better to simply buy a kit anyway and use memory which has been manufactured to be used together.

I use a Mac at work, but for the last 15 years I have built my own desktops for home use.  One of my personal favorite for the last five years has been from G.skill.  http://www.GSKILL.com/en/product/FA-1600c11d-16gsq

Other good brands are Crucial, PNY, Kingston, and Corsair.  Do not forget to get SODIMM 204 pins instead of 240-pin SDRAM sticks.

Retina models do not allow upgrading RAM.  Only non-retine models have available slots by the user on the logic board.  In fact Mbps retina models have a very low rating not repairable (ifixit.com gives a 1 out of 10 for * user *-fixable).

The thin design of systems of retina require RAM soldered on the Board and different format of version 2.5 SSD in readers.

In addition... to open the case on a non-retine model is an option authorized user without voiding the warranty.  Open the case of a model of retina gives Apple the opportunity to decline any warranty service if something breaks (map logic, display, fans,...).

  • Is - this RAM is compatible with the IdeaPad Z575?

Yesterday afternoon, I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Z575 for $499.00 from this link: [url]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246328 [url]

Obviously, it didn't come in the mail again. I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in the laptop. It comes with 6 GB of RAM, a 4 GB stick, and a 2 GB key. The problem is, I don't really know what kind of RAM is in the computer. I'm looking to replace the 2 GB key with a second stick of 4 GB.

Uses the type of the laptop RAM is ddr3 1333 mhz pc3-10600, without parity, capable channel, 2 dimm 204 sockets so pin RAM.

My question is whether or not this RAM is compatible with the laptop: [url]http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Extreme-MV-3T4G3-US/dp/B00591ZYX8 [url]

In addition, if there is a better option for the RAM for this laptop, I would like to know.

Yes this ram works. also, if you ever want to check compatibility you should visit crucial.com is an excellent reference on several memory upgrades.

If it is not the same number of pins, then it is not compatible. 204 pine is a laptop standard soDIMM.

See the following wiki stub to learn a little about the types of add-on memory for computer laptop soDIMM.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/so-DIMM

Install identical memory modules in the specification as pairs only. If you don't do this, you risk living no a startup scenario. You will also need to go through the hassle to request an RMA to return a supplier in not compatible memory.

  • Satellite 1100: Excel keeps freezing - too low virtual memory

I have a satellite 1100. My Microsort Excel program keeps freezing (mainly when I print or you are trying to save) and then tells me to stop.

So, I also have a message icon telling me that I am low on virtual memory. Microsoft stop related to memory being low?

How can I increase the memory? Or do I just need a new laptop! Help, please.

    Hello

Satellite 1100 is really an old classic, but he should be able to use common desktop applications such as Word or Excel with no problems
Virtual memory also known under the name a paging file is a file on your disk (default C:\pagefile.sys) than Windows applications and use more physical memory (RAM) according to your needs. The default and the recommended of pagefile.sys size is 1.5 times the amount of physical memory. Virtual memory is the amount of physical memory and the pagefile. So, if your computer has 512 MB of RAM, there is a page file 768 MB by default, for a total of 1.25 GB of physical + virtual memory.

So what to do in your case? Generally, the RAM upgrade should solve this problem. You can also try to increase the size of the pagefile.sys.
This can be done in system-> tab advanced properties-> Performance settings-> advanced-> virtual memory change tab.

After the change of virtual memory, you have to restart the laptop again.
If this will not help then an upgrade of RAM would be required or a new laptop effective ;)

  • HP Touchsmart 310 1100 HP Screen-No Black logo or whatever it is-just a black screen

    Hi-

I have a HP Touchsmart 310 1100 which when I turn there is only a black screen and I can hear the fans running. No HP logo or guest to enter the bios, just a completely black screen.

    I tried:

    (1) HP suggested resetting the default bios (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02217843) settings by pressing f10, f5 etc.

    (2) remove the hard drive, reinstalling memory, unplug all usb accessories

    (3) used another power supply from an another 310 HP

    (4) change the jumper on the motherboard from 1-2 to 7-8 and back to 1-2 to clear the cmos memory

I'm about to remove the cooling fan and the unit and re-insert the processor, but I wonder if there is something to try before that.

I'm starting to think it's a bad mother, gpu, or display the power inverter.

It is out of warranty, so if anyone has any advice I would be happy.

This seems to be a problem that has been listed in a dozen other posts without real solution given.

I solved my problem with my 310 - it was the CPU. Replaced with the same model cpu AMD bought on Amazon.

    Works fine now.

There is no video card to replace on my model 310. There is a video chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

  • Satellite 1100 Z6 display problems

    Hello

I have a Satellite 1100 Z6 and the screen does not appear correctly. It seems to show what I can only describe as a low resolution image.

I instslled the last card (downloaded at Toshiba) Intel graphics driver and my settings are 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz and I have tried tweeking the settings but without success.

I believe that the cause is due to an incorrect display driver and not the graphics driver that my display driver shows as a standard 'Digital Flat Panel' under hardware devices. I tried several drivers display different but once again with no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Hello

Sorry, but I don't see any problem here. Your device has 14.1 "TFT color display. The resolution is 1024 x 768. If this resolution is shown, that there is no problem at all.

  • Problem with the latest graphics drivers Intel 82830 M graphics Satellite 1100

I have a 1100 Satellite with the Intel 82830 M graphics card. The latest driver is version 14.7 which I just installed - icon of graph in the right lower corner of a multicolored square changes a blue screen when you install this, and the mouseover text says "Intel(r) Extreme Graphics.

However, since installing it, my screen freezes everytime I start a game, or if I go into display properties & change anything. A hard reboot is required. Also, the startup process takes 2 - 3 times as long since this upgrade.

Everyone knows about this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? I've seen a few posts on other forums about this, including some say that this problem came from XP Service Pack 2. Can anyone confirm this?

    Hello

I assume that you have installed the driver for graphics card on the Intel site and you do NOT use a graphic driver Toshiba, which has been designed especially for the use of the laptop.
Well, Toshiba recommend that you use the drivers from Toshiba. In this case, you should try to use the recommended graphic driver that you can download from the Toshiba driver page.
