HP wireless mouse keeps freezing

Hello everyone.

I have my mouse HP a while now.

But sometimes, it keeps hanging and freezing.

Sometimes, it turns out even.

I tried to change my batteries with new ones, and it worked for a few weeks.

I don't want to use new batteries just because of this.

I got a picture for my setup show that I am on a flat surface, no speaker is close (don't have them at all).

I couldn't find the serial number of the mouse, but I don't have the model number and a photo.

I play games from time to time, and as soon as I click the mouse hangs and stops just for a second.

It's really bothering me and I hope I can do something.

Should I buy a new mouse, or is - this solveable?

I don't have pictures of my installation (just a laptop with the mouse without a wire next to it) but I found a picture of the mouse.

The model number is MG-0982

Hello YannickGD

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the wireless mouse is not working properly. According to what you have described, it seems that his material is a failure. If it is under warranty, I would contact HP to be replaced. Alternatively, you can simply buy another.

Thank you for choosing the HP Forums. Have a great day!

My wired microsoft optical mouse keeps freezing & the red light turns off. At present, it will work only after first off the entire computer & its reboot. However it only works for a few minutes.  This may be due to my 3 year old grandson disabled showing a lot of interest with small fingers in the below & red lights this afternoon. Bless!  Suggestions please?

If it flashes on and outside and dies at random... you probably need a new mouse.

Don't know what has been rough on me pointing out what is obvious.  Direct - Yes.  Probably what you end up doing - Yes.  Rude - I can't.

So, if I remember, the most expensive computer mouse was about $ 25,000 - yours is * definitely * an inexpensive mouse.  ;-)

If you want to try something before replace you... Try the mouse on another computer for a few days - it has the same difficulty?  If the answer is Yes - replace it.  If not - you probably been--but try a Different mouse on the computer in question.  Does show the same symptoms?  If so, chances are two things (the latter is more likely): 1) issue software - install the latest motherboard chipset drivers.  (2) USB port bad equipment - try a different USB port and/or get your motherboard extracted for hardware failure.

  • Why my (wired) laser mouse keeps freezing every 2-5 seconds and then turns off?

I use Windows XP Professional SP3, and my (Genius NetScroll G500, USB) mouse keeps freezing every 2-5 seconds, until he "dies" (I can't move or something, it's like off). Sometimes, it works normally, sometimes doesn't. I don't really know what causes to keep freezing. This problem does not occur on Linux for now. I download the new updates, but I do not expect any kind of positive results, so please do not respond with driver update. Could you please tell me what to do to fix it properly? Note that the mouse is brand new, bought today.

EDIT: It seems that Safe Mode fails.

    Hello

I suggest you to connect the mouse to another computer if possible, and check if the same problem occurs, this is just to check if it is the problem with the mouse.

  • The mouse keeps freezing while I'm a touch...

When I play games like minecraft I have to move the cursor, then press the letters, such as a 'W' at the same time, but when I do that the keypad keeps freezing. I also tried game and still the same thng happens...

    Hello

This problem may be caused by a touchpad setting which is intended to avoid any accidental activation - for example if your Palm brush the touchpad when typing.

You can change this as follows.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the entry of Synaptics.

The hardware/software version will depend on real option that you're looking for (see the example below), but it is usually called 'check' Palm or Smart Sense'-disable this function and apply the changes.

  • MS Wireless mouse cursor freeze in XP

I was getting a random freeze cursor 2 or 3 times a week for a month and a reboot might solve the problem. Yesterday, cursor freeze happened and a restart had no effect. I changed the battery, no change. I replaced the mouse and receiver with one another; no change. I rebooted in Safe Mode; no change. In safe mode, I activated Avast and have a full scan; completely clean except that he told me that he could not access some files. (???) I am not able to select Start scan from Avast because I can't select it due to a frozen mouse. I also checked settings hardware for USB mouse and made sure it was allowed. ; no change.

I didn't notice if there is a particular application that caused 10-12 freezes last month; I don't think that's the problem. And last week I perform a full scan and a week before a boot scan. the two returned without problems. I am running in XP Pro SP3 on a desktop processor Intel Dual who otherwise worked perfectly for months.

My XP SP3 system does not meet a PS2 Mouse or either of two wireless USB mice. I can get to the window of the hardware system, but I need to be able to move the mouse around the screen, so I choose option or file boxes to remove mouse drivers and re - install.  I watched keyboard command lists and none seem to say how to move the cursor by a few (or a few hundred) pixels; only "end of a line, etc...  Is there some these combo keys that allow moving the slider of distances involved to # essential features or the period of ownership of the keys?

    Hello

Yes, I already had all these checks and found no problem.

I just installed a PS2 Mouse and now my cursor MOVES!  But I decided to do a rootkit virus scan before anything else (AVAST).  It may take a few hours to complete then I won't be able to do any further testing until tonight...

  • Microsoft wireless mouse stopped after 6 months of work: happened twice in two days

Windows 7 x 64. I've had the system for 6 months. Yesterday did this problem start happening.
The Microsoft wireless mouse pointer freezes in the middle of the screen (but my wireless keyboard IOGear, that I had also six months, still works fine and the computer itself is not suspended but is still running fine - it's not a blocking system general but isolated on the mouse wireless device and related things).
    I tried the following:
    1. Changing the battery on the mouse (ensuring battery was good, of course).
    2. People with disabilities/re-enabled the HID device.
    3. Deleted then recreated the HID device.
    4. Searched updated drivers (Windows reports mine are up to date)
    5. Remove and reinsert the battery.
    6. Stop and restart.
    7. Remove and reinsert the battery.
Finally yesterday, after reinserting the battery after a reboot, the mouse is back to life. However, today the same problem happened again. I tried it again, but nothing helped. I also downloaded the new Bluetooth drivers on the ASUS site and install them.  Restarted.  No joy.
BTW, Windows always reports the pointing HID device and Microsoft Wireless dongle work correctly, even if the mouse pointer is frozen in the middle of the screen.

Ensure that your data is backed up / copied to external media. It seems that your PC has a hardware problem. If it's a name brand PC, for example Dell / HP etc it may have preinstalled utility test read the manual or manufacturer's web site

If it's a generic PC, then your machine to HD will have a free test bootable utility, for example SeaTools from Seagate
