HP1280 printer will not work on Windows 7 any ideas

Windows7 tell me that the HP1280 is not compatible with the 64-bit system. Does this mean that all my old peripharals are obsolete, if so why didn't MS say this before buy us it

Hi BRIPATBrian,

If you are referring to the series of HP Deskjet 1280 printer, so it is compatible with Windows 7 64 - bit edition. You can download the drivers here .

If this does not work, download the drivers for your HP Deskjet 1280 Printer series for Windows Vista and run them in compatibility mode

Use this link to make older programs to run:

Follow the steps in the link to run older programs in compatibility mode.

If the advice above do not work, contact the manufacturer because they are the best people to offer support.
Manufacturers build many materials to make it work with the Windows operating system, this is why we cannot keep track of all the hardware devices and it is the sole responsibility of the manufacturer and not from Microsoft to develop drivers to make it compatible with the Windows operating system.
