HP2000 Notebook PC: operating system

My original operating system was windows 8 and now I have EER upgrade to windows 10 when I restore my laptop factory settings do I consider my laptops operating sysytem like 8 or 10?

Hi Diane,

If you are running a HP recovery, your PC will return to Windows 8.  You need to install Windows 10 again if wanted.

If you don't want to go back to Windows 8, you can try the Reset button first.

    Hello

    Yes you can.

If you can connect to the internet first, launch the program from Windows Update in your programs menu. It will download and install the latest drivers for most of your hardware components.

For anything else, you need, you can use the Vista drivers found on your laptop support page.

    Hello

Recovery media, I am referring to disks (or flash drive) that you create yourself using the Recovery Media Creator application on your laptop - you can create it once, so I would definitely recommend to do.  A guide on the creation of this support can be found on the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-envy-X2-11/5296226/model/5336701/document/c03481733

This support will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, all the original software (including applications on the start menu). They will also recreate all the original scores.  A guide on the main ways to perform a factory reset using a recovery or support of the partition recovery (including a video preview) can be found on the link below.

1 cant I save my computor and reinstall windows 10 somehow.

    2. the screen is black, how to get to the key of resettlement?

    3. I have no dvd with Windows 10.

    4. are there opportunities to wake my computer?

    Eubj

Sorry, but we don't have access to your PC, so we have no way of knowing how much damage was inflicted and (therefore) have no way to answer your question is to how to be saved.

We need to know if your PC comes with preinstalled Win10 or if you upgraded a previous OS and if so, the version of the previous operating system.

What we can do here is provide some troubleshooting steps you can take.

First thing I would do, is try to follow these guidelines to confirm the hard drive is OK: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

If the hard drive has failed, you will need to replace and order HP recovery media to restore your PC to working conditions, and until you have done, there is little value to test anything else.

If the hard drive has not failed, here are a few troubleshooting steps you should try:

HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (10, 8 Windows) screening | HP® customer support

Black screens with no start-up or start-up error message. HP® customer support

Regarding the Win10 install media, you can make a DVD or a USB key from this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

NOTE: Be sure to select the SAME version of Win10 that was running on your PC.  When downloading on the original PC, the tool knows which version is right, but since you're using another PC, there is no way of knowing that.  IF you download a different version, it will NOT be activated.

If you are not able to run ANY diagnostic because you cannot wake the portable computer, then your only recourse will be to send or bring in a HP repair center to fix it - and it the laptop is not under warranty, which can be very expensive!

Here is information on Service Centers: HP Notebook PC - use a repair center certified HP to repair a laptop | HP® customer support

    Good luck

  • Why the books are grouped and preinstalled with the operating system?

    It's complaints

My Portege has Windwosw Vista. I didn't want to buy Vista, but they were only selling with him and no other choice was possible to purchase.

First of all, my laptop had problems to install Windows updates. I could not connect my institution's Internet System. I had to reinstall the system again.
    It's a waste of time!

After re-installation of the button for the sound on the outside Panel does not work correctly.

Also, when I try to stop the laptop sometimes it restarts itself - he doesn't stop!

Secondly, I had a problem with the laptop, when an opportunity to visit a well-known site, it serves to block itself.
Once, when he is blocked, I had to restart and its screen remained black. They took for repair. It was delivered later - repaired, but with a defect on the screen!
    What a... workers!

When I bought this laptop he had an offer with the update of Vista with Windows 7 after their release.
Wonderful. But just note, Toshiba has the highest price of the offer, compared to its competitors - 30 (or £) against 15 for others, which of course I'm not going to pay.

I already paid for Vista, which is incredible, and I knew, but I had not choice not to buy!

All right, so there is still competition in the market, several possibilities are present - install Windows cracked, switch to Linux or just buy an Apple!

Please, take this comment seriously! And please, stop with group buying, no matter what the benefit is. It won't work for long.

    Hi mate

Fact is that most of the laptop manufacturers sell the computer and laptop computer with a preinstalled operating system. So I wouldn't blame Toshiba or other brands for which

You get a new computer/laptop with a new OS.
During the past 20 years, Microsoft released 3.0 Win, Win 95, Win 98, Win NT, W2k, Win XP, Win ME, Vista and Win 7, I remember that all my computers or laptops were grouped with these operating systems

Toshiba offers the notebook with a clean image and you can also create a recovery disk (so don t need to buy anything if you need t n)
Of course, each of us can install a clean OS, but there are a lot of people who are happy with such image pre-installed because everything is pre-installed and configured.

Many people have no knowledge of computer wide and are really recognizing that everything is pre-installed and the configuration does not have a lot of time

    With regard to the question of the laptop;
What to say; you had a bad luck that something was wrong with the laptop. This can still happen that my new LCD TV other manufacturer, was dead after two weeks, I called ASP, then replaced the screen now is ok

  • IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL ANY OPERATING SYSTEM

    Hello

I bought a computer hp laptop with this specification HP Pavilion g4-1310au Notebook PC about two weeks ago. It comes with a Freedos operating system. I tried to install an operating system from windows xp and also tried to install a windows 7, but every time I have to install the operating system, the installion was interrupted with a meassage to individuals a "blue screen" error error message saying that there are problems with my hard drive and I need to check on my hard drive. This scenario came when I tried to install windows xp on it. The next thing I did is that I tried to install windows 7 on the laptop computer. But still no luck, this time the error indicates that the installation cannot continue because there is a file missing or damaged file that prevents the installation.

I also tried to set some settings in the BIOS of the laptop as the Boot Option to start start installation in the cd/dvd from the laptop drive.

What seems to be the problem if I'm not able to install any operating system of your laptop? Is there a way or any special instructions for me to install the operating systems in this particular type and model of your laptop?

Your help will be much appreciated if you could guide me to solve my problem with my laptop.

    Hello.

  • Operating systems on the W series - please specify

I'm about to order a series notebook W (500 or 700), and I noticed in "Operating System", the two choices of XP are:

Real downgrade Windows Vista business to Windows XP Professional [$0.00]

Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate with Windows XP Professional Downgrade * [add $70.00]

My question is: or the other choice means 1) the computer will come pre-loaded with XP, and it will include the disc for me to switch to Vista professional/Ultimate Edition if I choose to do it later. or (2) the computer will come preloaded with XP, no Vista disk; or (3) the computer will come preloaded with Vista professional/Ultimate Edition, and an XP downgrade disc that I have to install myself?

    Thank you for your help.

So far, he has been #3. It comes with Vista installed and XP recovery disc in the box. You need to install XP yourself. In case you want to roll back to Vista, you must create a set of recovery discs before installation XP Vista as the recovery discs replace the partition of on-board catering, and then restore the windows of this partition.

  • HP 15 d070T: operating system

When I bought this laptop, the specifications said 64-bit operating system, once I'm back, open computer downloaded chrome this is 32 bit, y at - it a reason for this?

    Hello:

Most of the programs are still 32-bit.

They do, and the program can run on a 64 or 32 bits of the operating system.

See if you do a search for Chrome 64 bit, if there is such a download.

For example, you can get two variations of Java - 32 or 64 bit, but the 64-bit version, you must download the file and run it from the desktop.

To ensure that your notebook has a 64-bit operating system, you can...

Right click on button 10 Windows Start, select Control Panel > system and security > system > click the link View amount of RAM and processing speed.

An information window opens and the System topic, you should see the processor, installed memory and the type of system.

The type of system will confirm that lesser version of the operating system has your laptop, and I would be very surprised if she didn't list that has been installed on a 64-bit operating system.
