hp6700 not copy or scan
HP6700 used to print, copy and scan. Now it only prints. I run Win7 64 bit OS. Printer using a wireless connection.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, update the firmware and run HP Print and Scan doctor. Still no luck. Doctor scan gives message "scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product." I disconnect and reconnect the printer, rebooting, no luck.
When I launch analysis console printer, I get the message on computer, "communication scanner cannot be established. I tried to scan as a PDF and JPG... same result. I tried to scan to USB... endless loop.
When I try to copy from the console, I don't receive any message. Justs printer is located in the loop displaying "copy preparation.
WIA is started. RPC is started. Hardware detection kernel is started. I ran the update... everything is up-to-date.
I tried scanning with firewall and McAfee firewall disabled... same result.
I'm out of ideas.
I assume by 'printer console' you mean that the control panel with the LCD screen on the printer? If the copy fails, it would mean that the problem is at the printer, has nothing to do with the computer, or the network or usb, because in a copy job, none of that is involved. The common element in the scanning and copying is the scanner, check so first to scan, when you start copying or scanning, see the lights come on and moving through the glass? If this isn't the case, the scanner is dead or a cable may be loose.

The Officejet prints well, but will not copy or scan anything on the glass - what is proper. The whole page comes out black and striped - cannot do printing, only a pale reflection of the form of the paper I copy, i.e. a receipt. I do not see the light 'bar' pass back and forth. Suggestions?

Pull the power cord to the back of the unit (with it's ON!)
Keep #6 on the front of the unit.

Continue to hold the buttons for at least 15 seconds.
May need to try this twice before scans are clean if the unit is ok. Otherwise, you may need to replace the unit.

I can't copy or scan. on my 6280 C all in one. I use Mac OS x 10.7. It worked, but now all I get is a sheet with all the gray-black ink which resembles what happens if you leave the cover upward. This seems printed on or in the preview copy and scan on the copying and scanning previews - scans show a test of color along the edge. I can print from my computer.
I tried most of these steps. Because it would not copy or scan it look like lamp or sensor was out. So I got a new all-in-one HP at Costco. To still get advice ho to replace light would cost $25 at HP as it was not under warranty, as well as any necessary parts. New one is $99.
Thank you very much! PROBLEM SOLVED. It's really cool to have this forum available! BRAVO!
I just bought and set up a new 6525 Photosmart all-in-One Printer. It copies fine, but crashes when trying to copy or scan. I placed my document on the glass, tap the copy on the touch screen, enter desired copy quantity then select 'color '. The display immediately reads "start copy" and work/timeout icon turns constantly - once as long as half an hour. At the same time the touch screen and the Cancel button are not admissible. I have to turn off the printer so that it can stop. The problem is the same when trying to scan. I buy a lemon, or is there a solution for this? Also, I am slot than Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. But it has been an autonomous operation which does not, in my view, interface with my PC. As I said, it prints OK.
Resolved: The printer in question was defective. I got at Costco, he traded for a new.
It does everything it is supposed to do (until now).
Yay for me, I guess.
Brand new officejet 5745 won't copy or scan anything into the glass. I insert the paper, choose the copy and the document on top of the tracks, lightbar feeder does not move and it produces a blank page. When you try to scan the computer, I get an error message to insert the document into the document feeder. Help.
I'm not in contact with the phone group, you will be better off calling in and see what they have to say. Wish I had better answers.
Hi, my HP 6520 all-in-one printer not scan or copy. The light bar is not moving from underneath the edge. The printer prints very well. Should I check?
It seems that there may be a problem witht physics e scanning mechanism which is proventing bar scan to move.
The printer probably needs a form any intervention of service. I don't know if your printer is still under warranty.

Our printer is used in a small office of 15 person. Scanning and copying capabilities have suddenly stopped working. We tried the following:
- Shooting / disconnecting device/restart
- Uninstall & reinstall drivers
- HP Print and Scan Doctor
The HP print and Scan doctor provides these results after using the function of the difficulty of analysis:
- Windows (WIA) Scan error: Scan process was cancelled by the user.
- HP Twain Scan error: the scanning process was cancelled by the user.
- HP Scan: success
Note: I have not personally cancel the process leading to errors in scanning.
The scan dialog shows a progress bar and pages preview 0/0.
Displays "Calibration" with a loading screen before returning to the home menu. Usually, there is a progress bar of the item being analyzed. The scanner itself does not react/move when you press copy.
Thank you, Gemini02. We called HP and determined that the bulb was blown. We will get a replacement under warranty. I wonder if there are printers that can notify you when something like that happened, as when it is necessary to replace toner.
You just bought a LaserJet MFP M127fn Pro and the document feeder makes a cracking noise. The copies come out blurred from the ADF. Sometimes, I get a message to mispick or paper the ADF is not detected
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!
I understand that you feel the paper and quality problems when you use the automatic document feeder on your MFP HP LaserJet Pro M127fn. I would like to work with you today with the resolution of this problem.
It sounds like this problem is a failure to roll in your ADF assembly. This can cause problems with the paper feed, paper detection and quality. Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
Step 1: Check of power:
Make sure your printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet for power. Power strips and surge protectors can cause printers lack power and will not work properly. To make sure that the power is not the problem, please connect your printer directly into a wall outlet and test the copy feature.
Step 2: Checking for jams ADF:
Any packaging, paper or debris that are stuck in your ADF may cause problems of multiple streams with all CAD on your printer. To ensure that this is not the case I can get you click here and browse the steps to ensure that no debris is stuck in the rollers of the adf.
If the adf is free of all debris, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Check paper:
Ensure that you are the copy, fax or by scanning ordinary white paper. Make sure that the paper is not creased or damaged in any way. Load paper carefully stacked in the automatic document feeder. Also, ensure that the paper guides are adjusted and the adf cover is closed tight.
The printer will normally make a "ding" sound or display 'original charge' or "document loaded" on the display of your printer to show that the paper in the adf sensor detects paper as load. If no "ding" or "document loaded" message appears, remove your paper slightly and push back into the Assembly of the adf to see if you can trigger the adf sensor to detect the loaded paper.
Once the paper is detected, please test the copy function to see if the study draw in evenly and prints a perfect copy. If the problem persists, please continue.
Step 4: Checking Firmware:
A programming failure or corruption on your printer can cause the material on your printer does not work properly. To make sure that you use the most recent Version of the Firmware programming on your printer, please click on the following link: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127/M128 series Firmware update
Once the site opens, select the download button in the upper left corner. Once completed the Firmware download to run. Follow the prompts on the screen to send the update of the Firmware for your printer.
Once the update is complete, test the copy function again.
Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

Have installed a new Laserjet M1212nf MFP. When I send a document to print, it produces an impression outside, well wrapped on the ends because of the heat.
The copy function and the scanner or never do not produce print outs. The bar with light moves on the copy/scan with the light area, but no print out.
In addition, for the copier/scanner document feeder does not pages.
I installed several LaserJet using a number of operating systems in the past.
Thank you for the additional information. You experience a hardware problem with the scanner in the printer mechanism. The following additional options depending on your current status of the warranty on this printer.

This came with our old computer. We bought a new an Ultra now, all it will do is printed.
The printer must be able to copy without any problems.
Scan uses the functions of the computer to scan.
Brand and model of your computer and the operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit?
What antivirus do you use.
How is this printer attached to your computer? USB cable or using a host computer?
Thank you for using the forum.
From your description, it seems that the scanner unit may be faulty.
Can you turn off the printer and turn it back on? (Make sure that the scanner cover is closed when it is turned on)
If you still get the same black copies, the scanner is probably defective and you need to contact technical support.
Hope that helps.

Since the upgrade to Windows 10 HP 4630 Oficejet stopped working for copying and scanning options. Print and fax options are OK. Have updated to the latest version of the software (many times) without success. Also checked the scan of the computer is turned on. When you use HP Print and Scan verification pilot doctor fails (unable to communicate with the product). Follow the suggestion without any positive result.
Have tried everything that I could find on the internet to solve the problem without success. Any ideas what else can be done or
the driver for scanning and copying does not work with Windows 10 in all?
Even if I try to use the only printer with Dell computer off, still can not copy or scan a document.
Hello! Welcome to the HP community @Stewball1313,
I read your post about how you are unable to make copies or your Officejet 4630 analyses, and I wanted to respond with my own suggestions. As you can not copy, it is a sign of a hardware problem as copies do not involve the computer somehow. I think the question can be a failure of scan of your description, as for you to open the link I posted below and try a reset and checking the connection of power supply and then try to make a copy again. If copies are still not, I would then contact HP directly to see about a printer replacement or trade for a new unit. If you encounter other problems, let me know and I'll do my best to help you!
(Note: the Officejet 4630 is compatible with Windows 10 and it has full functionality of drivers available for the operating system.) However, if the problem is a hardware failure, a driver will fix a hardware problem).

I have a photosmart c410a all-in-one that will not copy or scan. Get "DOCUMENT FEEDER JAM. I tried to unplug the power cord, but that did not fix the problem. Any other ideas?
This can be caused by some torn paper, residing in the ADF (ADF) documents or rolls Sales in the ADF. I would suggest trying the following article for steps to resolve the error. I would like to know if the problem persists or if it is resolved.

I know this question has been asked several times, but whenever I try to copy or scan from the automatic document feeder, it leaves black lines on the copy (with the document on the works of glass like a charm). I've read through the forums and have tried the advice to unplug the machine and so on, but none of these suggestions work. Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome to the HP's Support Forum!
I see that you have some problems with a line when copying from the document on your Officejet 8600 Premium feeder e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.
To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:
- Get a little water and a lint cloth.
- Open the left upper part of the printer, where the document since the charger goes into the printer. It should open up as you opened a book.
- With your damp cloth wipe the rubber stamp, the rollers in the cover and the casters on the bottom of this section.
- Again open the left side of the printer, as you opened a book.
- With your damp cloth, wipe the rollers, you will find inside this section.
- Close the upper sections of the printer and open the flat section.
- With your damp cloth wipe the rollers and the white bar you see on top of the printer
- Clean the glass on the left side of the printer.
Once all the pieces you cleaned dry, please let me know the results. If you remove the line, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.
