HPV242H monitor: HPV242h French Led backlit

I have three of these screens, unfortunately 2 of the 3 screens have a hot pink background.  The screens are not clear.  Is something happens to these screens after awhile of use?  Is there something I can do to fix the screen? This problem can be fixed at all?  Please notify.

@PraiseDancer1

Well, there is more recent driver for the monitor software - you could try to reload.  That may well solve the problem as long as the problem is not hardware the cause of incapacity to work as expected.

Comment - what happens if nothing helps?

Inexpensive monitors, any brand, last as long as the guarantee.

More expensive monitors, no matter what brand, usually last as long as the guarantee.   In fact, 'better' monitors could come with a longer warranty, say two or three years against standard (in the USA) of one year.   These monitors will be likely to last two or three years.

All brands monitors any price, can last longer than the warranty period, of course.

Monitors are affected by the materials used in manufacturing, the environment in which they are used, the extent in which they are used (number of hours), outages of power / surge / low voltage questions...

These monitors if they are under warranty, could be replaced / fixed.  Contact HP Technical Support.

If the monitors are not under warranty, you must decide if trying to get fixed is worth the cost of buying (somewhere in the neighborhood of $115-130? US).

Personally, when monitors burn / fail / becomes bothersome, I opt to replace the monitor with a newer model and I send the old one to the 'green' local recycling center.

I recently bought the 27 "and 22" HP vc IPS LED backlit monitors. My intention was to mount them on a mount for two monitors that clips to the back of my desk or on the wall. Hi Ellen,.

    (a) you use HP ENVY laptop or desktop computer?

    (b) what is the model number for HP ENVY and monitor AOC?

    (c) what kind of connector do you use to connect the monitor?

    (d) have you tried to use the other cable and check if works?

You may experience this problem if the connections between your computer and your monitor is loose or if the drivers of graphics cards is corrupted. Try these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: I suggest you to update the latest drivers for the graphics card for Windows 8 and check if it helps:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/in/en/support-search.HTML?tab=1#/qryterm=HP%20envy&SearchType=s-002

Method 2: Visit the COA Web site and install the latest drivers by selecting the drivers of the AOC monitor for your model and see if it helps:

    http://www.aocindia.com/service_manual_monitor.php

See the documentation for your monitor and see if you can find the menu to restore default settings. If the problem persists I suggest you to contact the manufacturer (AOC) for assistance.

  • HP ENVY i7 Desktop 700-311: is the 23-inch monitor screen IPS LED - lighting compatible with HP ENVY Desktop 700-311 HP Pavilion?

I recently bought the hp with i7 proceessor envy and I want to know if the 23 inch screen IPS LED - lighting HP Pavilion monitor will be compatible with i7 ENVY 700-311 HP Desktop processor?

Until the entry of the screen is the viudeo output which is available on the desktop PC, it will be compatible. The dekstop PC has VGA and DVI outputs. Just use a cable that allows you to connect both devices and you'll get the video.

I see that the screen has both. I highly recommend the digital video input instead of the VGA NICU.

You will need a DVI cable.

  • Why can't I adjust the brightness of the display on my M1330? (using Win7 & LED backlit)

I have an M1330 with the Intel graphics card and the backlight. I am running Windows 7 RC1. I cannot adjust the brightness of the screen at all in Windows Seven - no matter if I use the FN + up / FN + down keys, the brightness slider bar option in Windows, or adjust it in the bios. The backlight is 100% brightness, or turned off completely.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?
