HTML not imported favorites.

I exported a bookmark of IE9 HTML file. After (successfully) import the file in Mozilla8, no bookmarks (or 'IE' directory) are visible. Any ideas?

"I exported a bookmark of IE9 HTML file."

You don't get the Internet Explorer folder when doing an IE export and then import the file into Firefox. This file appears only when the "import data from a different browser is used ' or when the function"import data"is used during the initial installation of Firefox.

When you view the "library" window, in the left column, you should be able to open the folder and all bookmarks in this folder, you should see folders Bookmarks Toolbar and Menu bookmarks with positive points and a folder of bookmarks not sorted. The bookmarks Menu folder is where all IE Favorites.

Or you could open the sidebar display bookmarks using {Ctrl + B} and then open the Menu folder bookmarks.

Dbellca82 gave you old Firefox 7 information and earlier versions. The "Import" in the "Library" window feature has been changed in Firefox 8 and is a little different from what has been used before, when there was a separate post of the 'Import' menu on the file menu in the Menu bar.

  • Could not import Firefox bookmarks

Using the last El Capitan (10.11.6) and Firefox 48.0.1.

I have my favorites in Firefox and want to import them into Safari.

I'm going on Safari, file / import of... / Firefox

Select bookmarks, and then click OK

It hangs for a while, and the CPU usage is 0%

However, no imported Favorites appear in Safari.

If I, instead, export as HTML in Firefox, I can import that uses the file / import of... / bookmarks HTML file.

What I don't want is the 2nd option, because she simply creates a folder of bookmarks in Safari instead of map to good equivalents of Safari (toolbar, etc.)

How can I go on Safari to recognize Firefox bookmarks in native mode?

If the problem is still there, try to boot mode safe using your usual account to see if you can import.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

If your old favorites are the .url files (as they exist in the Favorites folder), you can simply move them to your new favorites using Windows Explorer folder,

    like all other files.
