    Please can you help me?

I have a USB of Huawei E180 key for mobile broadband access that has been issued by British Telecom (BT). I want to use it with my Toshiba Tecra M5 (model PTM 50F - 013013EN) laptop running XP Professional (SP3).

When inserted is recognized by XP as a Huawei device, but its software pre-installed driver does not load automatically.

When I manually install the downloaded drivers for separately via BT connection manager software, I get a warning from Windows hardware conflict specific generic/no and the device will unfortunately not complete install and function.

I spoke at length with the support of BT, but despite sending me a replacement unit and USB power control problem, and they were unable to help solve the problem and left the problem with me to try to resolve simply say that I have a problem with my laptop!

As far as I know my Toshiba laptop and the XP operating system has the latest updates published and other devices such as flash storage and Tuner WinTV USB all works perfectly when it is installed, so please can you advise what I can try or what other information I can provide to you help me?

The unit installed and works as expected in another computer Windows Vista Home Premium.

    > I talked at length with the support of BT, but despite sending me a replacement unit and USB power control problem, and they were unable to help solve the problem and left the problem with me to try to resolve simply say that I have a problem with my laptop!
I think that all 3rd party would be to put the blame on the laptop if the don t know what s wrong and how the product in addition

I put t know this modem but if there s a USB device, and then she runs as a plug & play device.
This means that you need to install first the software/driver of modem before you would connect it to the laptop.

Therefore, install the driver/software of modem.
Then restart the laptop and after new reboot connect the modem to the USB port.
After that you should see something on the screen and more often that the modem should be detected also in Device Manager.

If you will not notice anything then I would recommend going to the Device Manager and remove (mark and uninstall) USB host controllers and hubs USB in the list of devices. Reboot the laptop (the modem must be disconnected!).
After the laptop has rebooted again, wait that the USB ports were resettled.
Then connect the modem to the USB port.

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers (and you shouldat least make the modem and everything you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

Try to uninstall and then reinstall the modem again.  Remove the modem through Control Panel > phones and Modems, then uninstall the modem in Device Manager. Once the reboot is complete and it is reinstalled it should work (as long as you use the update of the above paragraph).  Make sure that you uninstall in this order.

Are you sure that the modem is compatible with Vista and the rest of your system?  What is the manufacturer, brand and model?  You can find here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Remove the material is not necessary when you stop all services of software that uses the modem. In addition, safely remove is mainly for storage as memory and disks devices external hard, but that's too not necessary because Windows optimizes each removable device by disabling the write cache in most devices. If it is enabled by the user, safely remove hardware option should be used. But note that it does not mean that you can simply remove the device during a file transfer. You can find the light in key USB flashes during the transfer of notification data and only it is done, the light is slowed down (not flashing), the State, you can remove the device instantly, no need to remove the device.
When any removable device as a USB is connected, you can got start-> type devmgmt.msc -> press ENTER. Expand disk drives, double-click appliance removable/pendrive. In the Properties dialog box, go to the policies tab. You will find two options: a quick deletion (by default) and better performance. If you select best performance, you should use safely remove hardware option. But for fast moving, you should use not safely remove hardware option.
  • Adding multiple Airport Express to a router/network Apple no?

    Hi all

    You are looking for assistance.

Until yesterday, I had an Internet ADSL connection and home network WiFi connection that consisted of a base no routing modem, connected to a time Capsule. The extended wireless network had 3 Airport Express connected.

My ISP (TPG in Australia) past my ADSL to the new NBN yesterday and have sent me a new HUAWEI Modem/wireless router. That's why I need is no longer my Time Capsule for routing.

My question is now; Can I connect my A-Express to the router not Apple to create a large network similar to what I had before? I did a little reading and apparently not!

    Thanks in advance.

Can I connect my A-Express to the router not Apple to create a large network similar to what I had before?

Sorry, but no.  Feature of "extend" Apple owns. The Express devices can only wireless "extend" the signal from another router from Apple.

You can still use the time Capsule to provide a network... wireless signal and the expresses may 'extend '.

You could use the wireless of the Huawei product for "guest", or disable wireless on the device if you do not need two wireless networks.

I have a laptop HP HDX16. Recently, the hard drive has not then I replaced and the restore CD to return to factory settings. It's windows vista edition Home premium 64-bit with service pack one.

I use a usb huawei modem to connect to the internet, however, the drivers would not install properly.

I used another computer to download a version of service pack 2. However, 3/4 of the way through the installation I have error E_unexpected 0c8000ffff handler. I installed fixit 50202 I had seen on the forum, but this has not fixed the problem.

I then tried to run the installation program stand-alone windows update (KB947821-v4) However, this resulted in the 0xc8000247 error code.

I then tried to install the mobile fix it program to see is there something that could contribute. However there is no whenever he tried to install powershell.

I was able to use the usb modem by starting in safe mode and allowing unsigned drivers. From here, I tried to run the automatic update, but which gave the error code A 8024, 000. The usb modem wouldn't always work outside of safe mode.

I also tried a complete reinstall with the recovery discs, but I still get the same errors.

Norton antivirus is pre-installed. This was also replaced, but the same errors occurred. However, I was able to successfully install other software not microsoft.

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your response.

  • HP Pavillion G7096EA & a modem to broadband from three (Huawei E220).

    Hi all

A friend bought a laptop HP Pavilion G7096EA 2 weeks and also signed for three broadband. Its three modem is a Huawei E220. When it is plugged in, Windows Vista does not recognize the modem correctly. Normally, these modems will fool the system into thinking that they are a CD-ROM drive and autorun to install the three Dial Up application. After 1 minute, he is recognized, but no software or drivers are visible to install. The modem works fine on 5 or 6 other PCs / laptops. I managed to install the three application on this laptop G7096EA but do not always recognize the modem.

I ran all the updates that are available from HP.com for this laptop model and still nothing.

I have also connected to a modem broadband O2 (also Huawei E220) and that was ok.

    Any ideas?

It turns out that the new Huawei E270 modem high flow O2 works very well, so we managed to get online.

    I hope this helps.

  • Huawei has installed a malware during the installation of the drivers for the wireless modem: tips to remove the registry keys?

    Huawei sd usb storage

Applies to: Windows | Windows Vista | Hardware and drivers

A month before, I let a co-worker install a modem Wireless USB as Huawei to use my laptop somewhere without wifi service.  Subsequently, I uninstalled the software drivers because I don't think I'll ever use this modem again.

Now, I noticed that there are several registry keys for different devices of e/s as:
    Huawei_sd_storage_usb
    and
    Huawei_some other drive type

None of these registry keys can be deleted, I get an error saying that "year error occurred during an attempt to delete the key.  Same thing if I try to write data in the registry key.  This behavior resembles a persistent virus and not a register legitimate supporting a legitimate PnP device.

I then rebooted in safe MODE, thinking which should pick up anything the malware is hung.  No go, same thing, cannot remove the key and cannot modify the data in the key.

None of the malware scanners were able to detect this, including:
    Paid last AVG
    Windows Defender
    Microsoft Security Essential
    Spybot S & D latest
    Malware Microsoft Fixit

I don't trust Huawei, and what look like these keys are to monitor my laptops I/O activities through any player or the USB port.

    HP DV5t-1000 CTO
    Pentium dual core 2.54
4 GB of DDR, Home Premium Vista 64

I'm moving your question on the forum of Windows for material and the Drivers. These are the registry keys related to the legitimate drivers provided by the manufacturer of the device and are not related to malware.

Note, however, that you have an overload of running security software and some should be deleted. If you use Microsoft Security Essentials, you must disable Windows Defender in Vista and AVG should be removed, preferably using the AVG removal tool. I have no idea what is the Microsoft Malware Fixit.

You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.

  • Huawei Mobile Connect Modem 3 G installation problem

Hi, I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 on a laptop Dell Inspiron 1520, with all the updates on the system and updated regularly. Last week, I bought a unit of USB stick from a vendor (Meteor, Ireland) to connect to the internet using this stick. I followed the instructions; inserted the stick, waited a few minutes for the program Autorun start, but he has never started. Then I went to "my computer" to start the installer manually, I saw 2 new readers, F and G, and when I clicked on each, they simply disappeared one by one. As the new disks disappeared, I couldn't go in the folders and look for installers.

Then I went to windows update to check if there is no updated driver for this device, and it showed me "Dibcom 9080-device of TV Tuner" update. I tried to install, but the insatallation to no avail. I tried again, showed another installation failure warning message.

Then, I went into Device Manager, given the attention yellow icons next to "USB Mass Storage Device" and "Dibcom TV Tuner device," I uninstalled, restarted the computer and tried to install the device again. When I inserted the device into the USB port, box "new hardware installation" appeared and I waited for about half an hour, which is too I think. The installation dialog box said "Search drivers pre-configured", which I suppose that my system was not looking into the USB device for pilots, but for the system windows itself and spending far too much time.

The result was failure, even though the dialog box says "your device is ready to use", I was not able to enter the unit and the installation of the Mobile Internet software, namely "Broadband to Go." Device Manager showed a yellow warning next to 'Device of TV Tuner Dibcom' message, "USB Mass Storage Device" and there are 2 products "USB Mass Storage Device" under the USB in the Device Manager section.

This device has been installed and works perfectly on my laptop which runs on Windows XP Professional, I am writing this message from. On the Device Manager, under dfferent sections I see Huawei on items, such as hard drives, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, Modems, Ports, and USB controllers.

My theory is; Vista is the thought that the device's Tuner TV Dibcom, trying to load these fake drivers and is in conflict with the device itself.  Even if I am able to seize the records of the device and install the software, whenever I stick, Vista will run the stick as a TV Tuner device and which would create a conflict. Based on this theory, I went to follow in the registry and searched for anything that is named "dibcom" and '9080' and I deleted everything in the registry, but it does no more, whenever I plug the stick into the laptop, Tuner TV Dibcom pilots successfully load (!) and I am unable to use this device to connect to the internet.

I hope I gave enough information for troubleshooting. Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you

    btaspinar

    Hello btaspinar, welcome.

I would suggest trying the following:

REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM DEVICE MANAGER DRIVER

    1. open Device Manager
    2. right click the Dibcom TV Tunder device and select 'properties '.
    3. click on the tab "Driver" at the top
    4. click on the "Uninstall" button
    5. check the option 'Remove the Driver' and cofirm uninstall it, then...

CHANGE THE SETTINGS FOR AUTOMATIC DRIVER INSTALLATION

    1. click on START
    2. right click "Computer" and select "Properties".
    3. click on "Advanced system settings" on the top left side
    4. click on the tab "hardware".
    5. click on "Windows Update driver settings.
    6. choose "ask me every time...". ' setting, click 'OK', click 'Apply', click 'OK' and restart your computer and try reinstalling the device.

Let us know if it works,

    Thank you!
