Huge * Log files _cur.txt

Hello

We have some difficulties that some applications hang up because he is somehow the operating system creates huge logs (see attachment) in the temporary

folder of the user. This will up until him becomes completely exhausted HARD drive...!

I really have no idea how to solve this problem, I guess that this problem occurred with MS Windows Server 2008.

I checked my local ------... \temp file (I use Windows XP SP3) and I found some of those files, too. But the al about 1 KB...

Now, it seems that windows is searching for updates on all the available languages and that really cripples my PC whenever Windows Update for new updates, what can I do to stop this?

AoE3 cannot create log files and will not run.

AOE3 I installed on my machine. The game is stored on an external hard drive that is almost new and has yet to give me any problems. Whenever I try to launch the game, I get the following error "could not create the log file. Delete the log file, "Age3Log.txt", which could give this error message from My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3 'folder.

Unable to display the log file in windows 7

Hi all

for all of you who are familiar with the text game, I use customer gMUD a certain game. gMUD is able to record activity as a document that is readable by microsoft Notepad.

so, one evening I played and connected my activity where the customer is located, for example c:\program files (x 86) \gmud

After the recording session, when I went in this directory, the journal was gone! in fact, there were 2 newspapers, lets call them document1.log and document2.log

I did some troubleshooting for:

1. When you are prompted for a location to save a log, when I choose my office, the journal appears and I can read it just fine using Notepad. This means that there is nothing wrong with the ability of the client to write and record newspapers.

2. When you are prompted for a location to save a log, when I choose the directory where is located, my client of mud and give a name, say document3, I see that document1 and document2 are there. I can now logging document3. but as for the previous 2 logs, when I open the directory in windows Explorer, it is simply not there. This means that the issue is consistent and I can reproduce it. and also that the logs are there, but I can't visually see it.

3 tried setting the options files of the control panel to show all hidden files, but the documents don't show still in windows Explorer.

4 tried to open the document via prompt back but the documents cannot be found.

5. I tried running Notepad and navigate this particular directory but there is no .log files or .txt files.

my last hint is that the writing of the flies in a "program files" folder is somewhat limited (not hidden) and there should be a way to document1, document2, document3 access. can someone please show me how?

Question about a config/95 G log file: LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt

One of our lab computers running Labview has been reported to be running out of storage and asked me to figure out why. I scratched through some windows folders to find the culprit, specifically folder: c:\users\Lab.Admin\AppData\Local\Temp where I found a 95 G file titled LabView_32_11.0_Lab.Admin_cur.txt, I noticed that the Lab.Admin is the user name and is also included in the name of the file, so I guess it's sort of config/log file for the current user.

The file was too large for me to open and watch with no matter what program I had available so I just renamed, restarted Labview to check that it might be recreated then removed the bloated file. The newly created file has the following inside the itt:

Do you mean 95 gigabytes? 95 GB?

I think that it's a crash dump file in the event where LabVIEW detects an error. Could you have had a recent accident (perhaps several) where some large scale applications have been involved?

You can use LabVIEW to open the file. Write a small VI to open the text file, then just read a smaller number of bytes and display it in an indicator of the chain.

I have several of these files in my temp directory from to the slightly different versions of LabVIEW installed. But they are tiny, about 1 KB.

If you read this article on Vista (KB 928228) - which does not apply to XP - while the command does is use the fact that "each entrΘe the SFC.exe program in this file has a [SR] tag" to remove entries related to sfc.exe since services component-based' sign (CBS), which contains other entries as well.

If you ask what the letters SR actually rest in this context, you will have to search you, but I think that documentation on this subject is quite deeply buried at Microsoft.

Can someone help me interpret the results of a log cbs.log file?

My laptop worked little strange - gel sometimes and only excessively slow. I ran chkdsk /f checks and / r. Both went well. I then ran sfc/scannow. The results of this analysis are displayed below. I'm not a pc expert, so I don't know if I'm all together or if there is something else, I have to do. Specifically, the last line of the cbs.log file says, "Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All of the files and registry keys listed in the framework of this operation were properly repaired".

Any help would be appreciated! Sorry for the text copy/pasted for a long time. I cut about 99% of the out and about 1% of the folder (due to a limit of 60 000 characters) just left. I couldn't find a way to attach a file.

As noted at the end of your message SFC/scannow points out that there is no rest
questions that he can fix.

More information on how to easily read the important information as SFC/scannow
adds to the cbs.log.

Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update

Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally

Waiting for redo log file missing when restore main database using RMAN backup that was taken on the database physical standby

Here's my question after tons of research and test without have the right solutions.
Target:
(1) I have a 12.1.0.2 database unique main enterprise 'testdb' as database instance running on the server "node1".
(2) I created physical standby database "stbydb" on the server "node2".
(3) DataGuard running on the mode of MaxAvailability (SYNC) with roll forward in real time 12 default c apply.
(4) primary database has 3 groups of one-man redo. (/oraredo/testdb/redo01.log redo02.log redo03.log)
(5) I've created 4 standby redo logfiles (/oraredo/testdb/stby01.log stby02.log stby03.log stby04.log)
(6) I do RMAN backup (database and archivelog) on the site of relief only.
(7) I want to use this backup for full restore of the database on the primary database.
He is a DR test to simulate the scenario that has lost every primary & Eve total servers.
Here is how to save, on the database pending:

Everything seems perfect, except one of the file log roll forward pending is not generated
SQL > select * from v$ standby_log;
ERROR:
ORA-00308: cannot open archived log ' / oraredo/testdb/stby01.log'
ORA-27037: unable to get file status
Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory
Additional information: 3

I intended to use the same backup to restore primary basic & helps record traffic and the downtime between them in the world of real output.
So I have exactly the same steps (except STANDBY restore CONTROLFILE and not recover after database restore) to restore the database pending.
And I got the same missing log file.
The problem is:
(1) complete alert.log filled with this error, not the concern here
(2) now repeat it in real time apply won't work since the Party shall LGWR shows always "WAITING_FOR_LOG."
(3) I can't delete and re-create this log file
Then I tried several and found:
The missing standby logfile was still 'ACTIVE' at present RMAN backup was made.
For example, on db standby, under Group #4 (stby01.log) would be lost after the restoration.

Then, the backup has been restored correctly without missing standby logfile.
However, to change this primary database means break DataGuard protection when you perform the backup. It's not accept on the production environment.
Finally, my real questions come:
(1) what I do may not do on parameter change?
(2) I know I can re-create the control file to redo before delete and then recreate after. Is there any simple/fast to avoid the standby logfile lost or recreate the lost one?
I understand that there are a number of ways to circumvent this. Something to keep a copy of the log file waiting restoration progress and copy up one missing, etc, etc...
And yes I always have done no real-time applies "to the aid of archived logfile" but is also not accept mode of protection of production.
I just want proof that the design (which is displayed in a few oracle doc Doc ID 602299.1 is one of those) that backs up data backup works effectively and can be used to restore the two site. And it may be without spending more time to resume backups or put the load on the primary database to create the database before.

1--> when I take via RMAN backup, RMAN does not redo log (ORL or SRL) file, so we cannot expect ORLs or SRL would be restored.

2nd--> when we opened the ORL database should be deleted and created

Open the Virtual Machine folder in the data store. There are vmware files-# log. VMware.log is the last file and the vmware - 8.log is the oldest archived newspaper. You can download and open as txt files.

Log files VAC filling my computer

I'm not off my computer at night, and when I started using it today, I noticed that there is no space at all left on the hard drive. He went from 30 GB to 0GO overnight.

If you have changed the IP address, then you must purge FND_NODES, then run AutoConfig on the node of the database layer and the application layer node to populate the table. I have an Oracle 10 g installed on Windows 2008 r2. I want to check the alert file to investigate something. But the alert log itself is approximately 1.2 MB, it is very difficult to open with Wordpad and Notepad. If I don't like historical information, can I I just open the alert log file manually delete everything inside and to save it and do this weekly? Or if you have any good suggestion?

To do this, since you are on windows, argue some more text editor that can take care of some large files.

Other than that, if you do not want your alert log that would be huge if you want specific entries in the file, just move the old file or rename it before starting your activity you want to monitor. Database server will create a new file for you and which will logically be truncated for you.

There are some errors in your code.
1. function 'getmyDoc' is used, but not created.
2. fucntion 'getScriptPath' is created but not used. (In any case, this will not give you error)
3. function 'journal' has defined two times with the same length of the parameter.
etc...
