HyperTerminal: what data format is sent to RS232 interface?
Hi @ all:
I have a question: the hyperterminal in win xp sends the commands to the device connected in machine code instructions (which means a compiler is used before sending) or 1 / 1 (no change) to the RS232 interface? If you need more information, I can also give you specific the hyperterminal application settings.

Which fields in assets make it unique? Also, what date format is planned?
I was able to insert a record of capital test against an account using the accountname on this asset class field, but if I run it again the insert creates a capital duplicate record. Which fields in assets make it unique so that I can ensure failure when duplicates are tempted?
Also, when I try to insert data from a date field in the assets it does not appear on the record after insertion. I use the .net datetime field and can see the format MM/DD/YYYY time when the insert is executed.
No assistance on the above would be very useful, thank you in advance! All types of records in CRM On Demand have their ID (account ID, AssetId, OpportunityId...) field which makes them unique. In the case of account, uniqueness is also applied by the combination of the fields name and location (no record of two account cannot have the same name and location). Unfortunately, I do not think that it is such a key for the assets leaving AssetId might be your best bet.
Regarding the datefield format, I found this in the Oracle® Web Services on application Guide Version 4.0 (Oracle CRM On Demand
Exit 16)Date and time fields
The date and time in Oracle CRM On Demand fields are in the following format:
MM/DD/YYYY HH: mm:I hope this helps.

For example, the Date of beginning of life cycle shows 31/05/2001 (March 5) and the end of Support Date extended watch 07/12/2001 (12 July or December 7).
The date format is month/date/year. This format is for the start date and end date for extended Support.
In your example, the start date is May 31, 2001, and the end date would be July 12, 2001.I hope this helps.

Date format of messages is absolutely ugly
Hi all.
I'm really frustrated format of date/time of Messages on my iPhone6 (and also on my OS - X).
What the main reason for the use of the words 'Today', 'Yesterday', 'Saturday' and other?
Who need this lyrical sh * t? All my friends is also frustrated by this function, because if you need a specific date for the quote or shipping screen, you will need to do a lot of unnecessary travel.
I mean - if you want to find something and need to translate "what the date was Saturday?", you need to go to calendar and look here, what date was Saturday.
Apple !
Please, I beg you! Make this switchable feature!
This date format looks like completely unnecessary and useless decoration.
Simply return the precise date.
p.s. this message angry wrote after a misunderstanding with screenshots attached in the e-mail Messages.
iOS version: 9.3.3
The OS - X version: 10.11.6
Not something anyone here can do for you. You can offer your comments Apple here.

Hi all
I'm new in the world of labview and trying to build a VI that sends commands to a controller of the WAGO 750-881 at regular intervals of 10 ms.
To set each of the WAGO comics at the same time, I try so to send the Modbus fc15 command every 10ms using Labview standard TCP write module.
When I run the VI it works for about a minute before receiving an error message 56 telling me the TCP connection has expired. This strange thought, I decided to record the number of bytes sent via the TCP connection while running the program. In doing so, I noticed that the link broken after exactly 113655 bytes of data have been sent each time.
Thinking can I have sent too many messages, I increased the delay of the loop of 10ms to 20, 100 and 200 ms, but the error remained. I also tried to play with the TCP connection timeout and the writing TCP timeout, but none of these had no effect on the problem.
I do not see why this error occurs, such as the program works perfectly up until what brand 113655 bytes.
I've attached a screenshot of the base VI (simply showing a MODBUS command sent every second) and a more advanced VI (where I am able to control each of the WAGO manually by setting a frequency at which the DO is to switch between ON and OFF).
If anyone has any ideas on where the problems lie, or that I could do to debug more program this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ThiCop,
Yes, the error occurs after exactly 113655 bytes each time. Time-out control, I would like to use is 10ms, but even that will rise to 1 s or 10s does not error, which leads me to believe that's not the issue (as well, do not add any delay in the while loop, so let it run at the maximum speed showed that the TCP connection is able to send all the bytes 113655 in less than 3 seconds again directed towards control of time-out) is is not the issue here).
I tried the suggestion of Marco but having difficulty to translate the string returned in a readable string (rightnow the answer given is "-# +" ' ").
As for your second suggestion, I've implemented something similar, where I created a sub VI to establish a TCP connection, send a message and then close the connection. I have now to build each message and then send the string to the Subvi, which sends the command to my application successfully. While not the most elegant method to solve the problem, it solves the problem of time-out, which means that I am able to send as many orders as I want. So in this sense, the problem has been resolved.
If you have advice on how to properly read the TCP read the output, I want however to see if I could not get my first program to work because it is slightly more robust in terms of timing.
MODBUS RTU TCP is a binary protocol, as you show in your base VI, where you put in the form the data stream using byte values. So you have to interpret the returned answer accordingly with the Modbus RTU spec in the hand. Now what is probably happening is that the connection is suspended after a while because you do NOT read data from the device sends as response to your commands. The TCP/IP stack cushions these bytes and at certain point of overflow internal buffers and the connection is blocked by the battery. So to add playback of TCP in strategic locations (usually after each entry) is the right solution for this. Is there a reason any that you do not use the PROVIDED Modbus TCP library?

Problem with the conversion of getDate() to Date format?
Hi guys,.
I need to convert the date selected for DateField string format (for example: yyyy-mm-dd).
I put the date format DateField as "mm-dd-yyyy '.»
I tried to get the date of this DateField and tried to convert the format 'yyyy-mm-dd ".
When I tried, I had a bad outing.
For example, when I selected 12 months he returned as "00" the following coding.
SimpleDateFormat dtFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-mm-dd"); Date dtToConvert = new Date(mydatefield.getDate()); strRequired = dtFormat.formatLocal(dtToConvert);
Can someone explain what that is the bug with this code or any other way to get the output as my requirement?
Thanks in advance,
Stéphane
Oops, sorry, code should have been...
DateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy/MM/dd"); long dateLong = field.getDate(); Date date = new Date(dateLong); String dateString =df.format(date);

Sort data in date format DD/MM/RRRR
Hello
I have to sort our data between two dates ex 01 01, 2016 to the 31/01/2016 for the list of transactions.
Will I convert in JAN-16 format so that I can sort by where period_name like ' JAN-16'?
If so how do I convert a date format of 01/01/2016 JAN-16?
Thank you
Hello
Whenever you have a problem, please post a small example data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) of all the tables involved, so that people who want to help you can recreate the problem and test their ideas.
Also post the exact results you want from this data, as well as an explanation of how you get these results from these data, with specific examples.
Always say what version of Oracle you are using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).
See the FAQ forum: Re: 2. How can I ask a question on the forums?
As Chris and Tubby has said, all DATEs are stored in the same internal format, which has nothing to do with the format you use to view or format you use in conversion as TO_DATE functions.
Oracle provides many functions and other features for the manipulation of DATEs, you seldom need to convert them to another format. For example, we wanted to get a list of employees of the scott.emp sorted by month and by ename; in other words, December 1980 would come before April, 1981, as from habit, but the day of the month, hours minutes and seconds would all be ignored in sorting. We can use the TRUNC function to do this:
SELECT TO_CHAR (hiredate, 'Mon-YYYY') AS hiremonth
ename
hiredate
FROM scott.emp
ORDER BY TRUNC (hiredate, 'MONTH')
ename
;
Output:
HIREMONTH ENAME HIREDATE
---------- ---------- -----------
DEC-1980 SMITH December 17, 1980
Feb-1981 ALLEN 20 February 1981
Feb-1981 WARD 22 February 1981
Apr-1981 JONES April 2, 1981
May-1981 BLAKE may 1, 1981
Jun-1981 CLARK June 9, 1981
MARTIN 1981-Sep 28-Sep-1981
Sep-1981 TURNER 08-Sep-1981
Nov-1981 KING November 17, 1981
DEC-1981 FORD December 3, 1981
DEC-1981 JAMES December 3, 1981
Jan-1982 MILLER January 23, 1982
Apr-1987 SCOTT April 19, 1987
May-1987 ADAMS 23 May 1987
Notice how MARTIN comes before TURNER in the output (I marked these Redlines), even if MARTIN hiredate is 20 days later than TURNER. This is because only the year and month are considered in the sorting. Any DATE in the same month will get the same sort value.

Hi all
Here are my existing query which I run another tool to extract data from oracle-
Select * from transactionTbl
WHERE
DATE > = TO_DATE (' $(vAppStartDate)', "DD/MM/YYYY")
AND DATE < = TO_DATE (' $(vAppEndDate)', "DD/MM/YYYY")
variables-
-vAppStartDate = 06/01/2014
-vAppEndDate = 30/06/2015
Rather than use the Date column in the WHERE condition, I want to use PeriodID of column existing in the same table, to make the query faster.
The period column is in below format.
PeriodID format-> 201294 //means 2012Q 4. So 9 means Q
Since I'm on variables, the values are always to the date format, so my requirement is first change variable date from periods of format.
I wrote the pseudo-code, because I of course know how to convert date format periodID. Q also means in the periodID 9.
Select * from transactionTbl
WHERE
PeriodID > = period_function (TO_DATE (July 1, 14 ',' DD/MM/YYYY '), 'YYYYxx')
AND PeriodID > = period_function (TO_DATE (July 1, 15 ',' DD/MM/YYYY '), 'YYYYxx')
Please help me with the query.
Thank you!
Calling a user-defined function is likely to slow down your query.
What's the problem with just using regular date formatting strings for example
SQL > select to_char (to_date('15/09/2014','DD/MM/YYYY'), 'YYYY "9" Q') of double;
TO_CHA
------
2014931 selected line.

Hello everyone,
When I connect to obiee with mode 'English' selected, I want to see the column data format date as "MM/DD/YYYY". However, the default behavior is "MM/DD/YYYY". How can I change? I don't want to change the format of data manually one by one. Can I change automatically?
Kind regards
Dilek
Hello Dilek,
I think it depends on the locale (scheme chosen under 'My account' in the corner right under your username). There you can choose the language for the interface as well as the locale.
What version of OBIEE do you use?
Best regards

Because of this problem with the Date format of wire I came with a little challenge.
Consider the following two statements. All were executed in the same 11.2.0.3 session. No other fraud took place.
alter session set nls_date_format=###SECRETDATEFORMAT###; create table mytest (myday date); truncate table mytest ; insert into mytest values (to_date('08/15/2013')); insert into mytest values (to_date('15/08/2013')); select myday from mytest; MYDAY 08/15/2013 15/08/2013
Question is: what format mask is entered?
I think that several solutions are possible.
@Kendenny: never say never!
There are several possibilities. MI/ss/yyyy or YYYY/mi/ss would work. Then use HH24 instead of mid or ss.
