I accidentally put my system as boot partition and my windows partition not marked as boot! Windows will not start! ):

Hello

The other day, I have been stupid, play with my windows partitions, I tried to dual-boot android 4.0 with windows, of course, as a study (this version of android has been mainly Linux). A test installation somehow fault, I put my Starter instead of windows system partition! Now windows will not start, it stays on a black screen with a sign less this sort of thing flashes in the corner.
So I jumped in my disk windows ultimate 7, and it saysBOOTMGR IS MISSING Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart"" and if I try to install Ubuntu via live disc or USB does not start or the other, it displays the same thing.
Can you please help me solve this problem!
Nice day!

After having the BIOS change, restart you your computer with the repair disc in the drive?  If so, what happened?

    Hello

Following methods and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts very well.

    Step 2:

If the system starts in safe mode, then there would be a third-party software, causing the issue to occur. I wish that you start your machine in a clean boot State. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.

    Method 2:

If this does not help, you can perform System Restore in safe mode.

  • Hello. I have windows 7 home... I had accidentally put in the trash... and deleting photos

    Hello.

I have windows 7 home... I had accidentally put in the trash... photos and then cleaned out the trash... lost all the pictures... did a system restore and got back records, but not photos... ANY IDEAS on HOW I CAN get BACK MY PHOTOS > please... !!!

It was a possibly a big mistake to do the system restore. There jepoardised your chances of recovering anything because it may well have used disk space previously allocated to your photos.

Some people on this forum have reported success with Recuva

Do not recover files to the same drive that you are trying to recover files from. This is likely to have the same consequences as restoring your system. In fact, it is preferable to stop using the hard drive which has (hopefully) the files lost and place it in another PC before run Recuva on the other PC. Install Recuva on your hard drive can also cause files become unrecoverable.

Good luck, I think that you will need. If something like Recuva recover everything you want, the only recourse is a (very expensive) data recovery lab.

  • Tried to increase the bootcamp partition and now Windows will not boot

    I've got Yosemite.
I wanted to increase the size of my bootcamp windows partition, so I searched for a way online, and I found this video:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=zhkdOLXT6Eg

I followed all the steps in the video, but after you have started and to complete the process of the Minitool partition Wizard I got this screen:

This is what looks like my disk utility:

    https://i.gyazo.com/ee9967fc7ac9a2d1ad9afc5cde2f3529.PNG

It seems that free space is always there

Is there a way to fix this?

MiniTool is not recommended because it causes problems and can lead to data loss.

OS X Terminal please after the release of the following OS X Terminal commands. Enter your password when you are prompted by the command 'sudo '.

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

Do not change the partitioning information any more, otherwise, you will lose your Windows data permanently.

  • Portege M400 - system crashes, speeds fan near the top, does not start

I bought this new tablet in 2007 with Vista Ultimate. I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM a few months ago and keep up to date on the OS and antivirus updates. During the last week, the system began to hang, usually using MS OneNote but also when you navigate on the web or other applications. The computer can be either in tablet mode or laptop mode, when this happens, and it is usually on a flat and level. The grip has become more common of yesterday and today, it does not even start. Whenever it crashes, including now the fan suddenly accelerates. Every time that requires a difficult stop - I hold the power button for 5-7 seconds. Whenever it starts after the hanging, he asks to go through safe mode. The last time he asked to open the Windows repair.

I guess I'll have to send in for service. After reading some other posts, I noticed that others have experienced similar problems and I was wondering if someone had succeeded in solving them?

    Thank you.

    > I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM a few months ago and keep up to date on the OS and antivirus updates
You said you did a RAM upgrade these computers portable behavior can be caused by RAM memory modules defective too.

    Love all: _
You should also check if your laptop temperature is not too high.
In many cases if the temperature is too high the Windows OS on the laptop crashes and freezes.
I think after a long period of use, the vents may be blocked and this would prevent air from traffic and internal parts would not be properly cooled.

I clean my fans and cooling grids from time to time with a jet of compressed air. In this case, you could get rid of the dust and debris that is mainly responsible for these issues

As noted above in the subject... exploded with power for about 2 weeks supply.  On his return the

system won't start.  It keeps going in a circle.

    Here's what happens;

    (1) it goes to the window HP

    2) immediately goes to a window stating "windows did not start properly. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "Then on and other causes.  Well, none of them took place.

    To the bottom of the window there's several options to try.  Safe mode, Safe Mode Networking, last known successful... and start normally.  All the options have been tried several times.  To 30 sec timer waiting for your choice.  NONE OF THE OPTIONS WORK.  Cannot start in any mode.  After all of the selections it shows;

    (3) a flash of the microsoft windows screen and then we go back to number 1.

    • I have no recovery disks!

    Hello:

I can't help with your problem, because in this case, my recommendation would be to reinstall the operating system.

What I can do, is give you information to get a set of recovery discs for your xw4400 for only $10 USD.

    Here's how:

    1. Enter the part number and the serial number on the top of the computer on the Silver label. The model # is a Compaq HP xw4400, but the part number is on this tag silver under the serial No.

    2. call HP at 1-800-952-7689, option 1 (ranking in the list in the option made restore disks).

    3. provide the information asked by the representative who answers the phone. Some simply ask for the serial No., some want at the same time, or they'll want just the serial number and the type of computer (xw4400).

    4. do you have a Master Card or Visa ready for purchase. They do not take discover. You will be charged $10.00.

You will receive the discs by first class mail, or you can pay an additional $10.00 for shipping FedEx.

  • I resized the Partition Mac to make more space for BootCamp and now Windows will not boot

On a collague MacBook Air running 10.11.4, we used disk utility to reduce the Mac Partition so that we could then use a Windows tool to extend the BootCamp partition. However, upon restart, we got a BACK screen with the error that Windows cannot start because it cannot find the boot device.

    Help, please?

This is not a mechanism supported by Apple to change the size of the Windows partition. Apple supports the remove/reinstall only.

We try to remedy. Please after the release of the following OSX Terminal commands.

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

What is the model/year of the MBA? Please, do not post the serial number of your Mac. Orders 'sudo' will ask for your password.
