  • Password MS Surface has been lost/changed and now can not access the device.

My wife recently got a tablet of Ms Surface.  Initially, she set his password and was able to use the device without problem.  However, after 2 days of used light, the device does not recognize the password and don't let her diary.  How can solve us this problem so that it can reset his password and access?

Mario - Sorry for my delay in responding, but I need to retrieve the response that we had found.

Surface of my wife would not accept his password and if it could not connect to use most of the suggested solutions to 'reset' a password.  We had to do a complete Factory reset by following the following steps (that I found on the Web, and successful):

The only way to start a complete RESET without signing in Windows is to stop start Windows handle once or twice to get "Automatic Windows repair" to start, as follows:

    1. turn off the device in now the power button for 6-10 seconds

    2. press the power button to wake it up.

    3. once the Surface Logo appears, wait for the indirect "dots" approach to appear and then press and hold the power button for 6-10 seconds to turn the unit off again.

    4. Repeat step 2 & 3 until the Surface Logo appears with the words in saying "prepare auto repair.

    5 recovery Mode turns on.

    6. in the BITLOCKER screen, press "skip this drive".

    7. press on 'Advanced Options '.

    8. press on "Troubleshoot".

    9. press "reset".

10 tap... "Just remove my files.

11 reset process will take about 20-30 minutes - and all DATA WILL BE REMOVED FROM the DEVICE.

When the "reset" process is complete, the OOBE/Start Up Wizard must begin and the customer can complete the installation of their Surface device.

Please note that we have used this process because
    (1) we could not connect you to the Surface unit AND
    (2) because we had no personal data to save.  If you have any personal data that you don't want to lose, you will need to find another way to reset the Surface.

I hope this helps.  He has worked for our situation and the Surface continued to operate perfectly since.

Using windows 7. As soon as the update of firefox, I can not access Internet. I tried Internet Explorer works well. I have restored the previous computer Firefox and it works fine. Tried the update again and the same problem can not access the internet.

This is usually caused by a firewall blocking the new version of Firefox. For more information, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Cannot+connect+after+upgrading+Firefox

  • My B8550 lights. I uninstalled and now can't find the disks to reinstall.

I can't get my B8550 printer to turn on. I have checked all the connections, unplugged and reconnected, rebooted my computer (desktop, 64-bit, Windows 7) and it won't turn. I uninstalled it, thinking I had the disk to install it, but I'm not. How can I reinstall it and what could make it not turn on?

    Hey @sandyb1,.

I understand that you are having problems with your Photosmart B8550 turn. I can help with that.

First of all, we need to see if we can get the hardware of the printer.  This document will help you with your power problems. If you are able to turn on the printer, then you can download full feature software and drivers.

If these steps allow you to turn on the printer and install the drivers please let me know and click on accept the Solution to let other users know that your problem is solved. If you are unable to turn on the printer, then it would be time to move to a newer model.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a great weekend!

  • I converted a WMV to SWF format and I can't hear the sound in Internet Explorer 8, he plays very well in other software.

I converted a WMV to SWF format, but I do not see the video. I hear no audio in INTERNET EXPLORER 8. The audio works fine in other software.

    Hello

    (1) you are streaming the videos on Windows Media Player online or just play them online?

    (2) have you installed and updated plugins like Adobe?

I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.

Check whether the sound is enabled in Internet Explorer:

    a. open Internet Explorer.

    i. click on tools and then click Internet Options.

    (b) switch to the "Advanced" tab

    c. scroll down to the 'Multimédia' heading

    d. make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is checked. Click on 'ok '. Restart Internet Explorer.

Let us know if that helps.

  • I've just updated Firefox and now can't find the 'bar', 'back' and 'next' arrows and "bookmarks." Any suggestions?

With earlier versions of Firefox, I got an address bar at the top of the screen where you can enter a URL. It does not appear now.

With earlier versions of Firefox, I could go back to a previous URL by clicking on a «return» arrow Similarly, I could go to a most recent URL by clicking an arrow 'forward '. I don't see the arrows.

With the latest versions of Firefox, I could click on "Favorites" at the top of the screen to see all my favorites. With the new version, I don't have a tab "Bookmarks". If I can I find it?

    Thank you all.

    You are welcome.

If please, return to the forum and click on the button 'Resolved' next to the answer that solved your problem. Thank you.

  • Installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on original Vista CQ60 and now can't do the system recovery

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-320SA, which came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit and do a new install of 7 Pro 64-bit.  Now I want to go back but F11 does not work, and there is no recovery for a reason Manager any. The recovery partition is still there.

I don't have useful recovery discs because when I tried to make them when I got the laptop, the process has failed for an unknown reason (I asked the TechGuys, who suggested to use a better quality than DVD, but I don't bother).

What can I do?  Is my only option of order recovery disks?

The main point of this exercise is to get the original settings before you install Windows XP 32-bit.  Which is the best thing to do, or should I just go directly from 7 to XP?   Will I have problems if I decide to go back to XP?

    Thank you

No, just be sure that install you XP to the right partition, (a greater) and not to the recovery partition.
