  • How to allow another access to the computer through firewall

How to enable another computer game acess my fire wall

    Hi Roy,

If you are using Windows Firewall, the last item in this article shows you how to open a port in the firewall to allow access: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Firewall-frequently-asked-questions.

For more information, see the following: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722062 (WS.10) .aspx.

It may be more than just the firewall.  You need to allow remote access (in control panel / system / remote settings / Remote Access) and Remote Desktop (same place, but just below).

Here is an article on the remote desktop for Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Remote-Desktop-Connection-frequently-asked-questions (because I do not know your operating system - you can perform a search Bing for office remotely for your operating system to find something similar).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I have synced with this installation of iTunes on this computer many times before, so I'm not sure why this is happening now.
I have deleted my iTunes twice lockdown folder and restarting computer & all my devices.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    # Remote disc is a feature that allows you to use the CD drive from another computer.

It is always in the Finder, and when Setup a disc in another computer it will appear.

It is perfectly normal.  No one has access to your computer.

  • Unauthorized access from another computer

I found "Account unknown" as an additional user profile. I believe that my nephew has access to my computer from his computer. I was online and I started while he was on his computer. If I'm on my laptop and it is not on his computer, my laptop works very well. As soon as it connects to his computer, then my laptop runs slowly. According to me, he is accessing my computer somehow. I use Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. I have the disabled guest user and I have a password to log on to my laptop. Do you know something about the conversion from FAT to NTFS disks? My laptop is not configured for networking and authorize remote assistance is disabled (not allowed). Is it possible that I can see if his computer access my laptop? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Looks almost like it's using Remote Desktop, but XP Home does not allow that.

Since you have XP Home Edition, file sharing Simple is applied and remote users can authenticate only as long as the user "guest".  You say you have 'Off' Guest user  How did you do that?  If you did it in the user control panel, which does not disable access to the network - only for interactive access.  To really disable the guest user and deny access to the network, you must open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
NET user guest / active: No.

Another approach would be to put a password on the guest user:
"Set up the password for the user in Windows XP"

You must also make sure that the user 'administrator' built-in gave a password as well, or it may log and undo what you've done.  Also check the "Administrators" group and ensure it doesn't have access to one of the accounts listed there.  List of the members of the Administrators group, open a window to prompt as above and enter the command:
    net localgroup administrators
which lists all of the users in the Administrators group.

To see who is connected to your computer, right click on 'My Computer'-> manage-> user Sessions

A "Account unknown" user profile means that a user who has used to have a profile has been removed from the machine.

    Hello Ann,.

If you allowed them access to your PC, then it is a problem. I considered reinstalling my OS and change all my passwords. It would also make sense, if you use the online banking etc., to inform your bank that you have a security hole on your PC. This will alert them to anyone using your current password to the Bank etc.

  • 160N not allowing access to a single ip address please!

My router does not allow access to a single ip address.  I have a site that I have ftp access to and everything was working fine until today.  I can't access ftp with all the software and the site will not be rendered.  I checked all implement.  I called the hosting company, ISP provider and is not on their end.  I went to another computer somewhere else and everything worked fine.  I hooked in directly to the modem and everything worked as it is supposed to.  All other websites work very well.  It must be the router.   I have reset the router to factory settings and set to update the firmware.  As I said, everything was working just fine and then suddenly everything that is on the IP 1 will not work.  Any help with my situation is appreciated.

Since you have already reset your router and re-configured all the settings in this topic. When your computer is connected to the Linksys router, on your computer, open the window command prompt and try to ping the IP address that you're trying to make it work with your Linksys router and check if you have all the answers.

If not then on your configuration page of the router, click on the Security tab and disable the SPI Firewall and uncheck "Filter anonymous Internet requests" and click on save settings...

Once you are done with these settings, you can now try to ping the IP address and check if you have all the answers...

NOTE: Turn off the firewall and Antivirus on your computer...

  • XP computer does not access the Vista computer on the home network.

I have a three home computers I'm trying to set up using two with XP - Pro (all updates including SP3 installed) and a third with Vista Home Premium (SP2 installed, all the updates that are installed to date). The two XP machines can connect (access) between them, but they cannot access the Vista machine. The Vista Machine can access the two XP machines. I've tried every tip/trick that I can find so far and nothing. Ping on each pc test, uninstalled the Norton firewall, permisions changed part to the best of my knowledge on all PCs, I am the owner of the computer and to assume with a single account on Vista I have right to full ownership, contacted the manufacturer of routers (performed an upgrade), but nothing is allowing access to the Visat pc.  When you view the network connections on the XP machines, Vista is listed, I can click to open and see the folders to share, but when I try to open a file I get the error\\xxx\xx is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact. admin of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.

It's funny that I can find other users to comment on other forums that they are experincing the opposite scenrio with access denied on XP machines... Thanks in advance for any help...

    Hello

Uninstall any software antivirus and then check to see if you can access the Vista computer again.

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software.
If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
